Inside the Lizardman's squalid quarters, Halle , Titus , and Varis  began interrogating their Yuan-Ti captive. Naivara  rejoined them and aided in the questioning. Once they were satisfied with the answers given, the treacherous Yuan-Ti was given a swift death as promised. They took a short rest, during which they could hear the sounds of the Lizardfolk insurrection fading. After a regroup, the four of them continued their exploration through the settlement in their search for Varram the White . The tunnels took them into a huge chamber filled with numerous Yuan-Ti. A Yuan-Ti Abomination priestess spoke as leader. She was behind an altar carved with the form of a giant openmouthed cobra with the beaten and bound body of Varram in her grasp. A tense negotiation ensured, where the priestess demanded the riches Varram promised his rescuers would provide to her. Unwilling to be extorted like that, the party began a tense negotiation. In lieu of the ransom payment Varram promised the Yuan-Ti, the party agreed to clear the rest of the  Tomb of Diderius  of undead. The priestess agreed to those terms and allowed them to take Varram and leave their settlement of Ss'tck'al . The priestess warned them that Varram wouldn't recover from the magic placed on him until after they completed the deed and left the Yuan-Ti's domain. The party retraced their steps back through Ss'tack'al and, remembering the slippery moss on the bridge, safely returned to the Tomb. In the chamber with the divination pool Titus used the scroll of resurrection on Barnabus Stonemane . He immediately recognized Naivara once he was restored to life, but before they could have their reunion the group needed answers from him about what had happened. Barnabus told them the White Dragon Mask  had been stolen from Varram, and in desperation he traveled to this Tomb to use its fabled divination pool to try and find it. After much struggle, they made it to the pool and used it, discovering the White Dragon Mask had been stolen in a plot set in motion by the now-deceased Half-Elf Talis the White . When the thief brought the mask to her old Hunting Lodge  in the Greypeak Mountains , they discovered the ruins and ran afowl of cultists loyal to Severin the Red  who quickly overpowered the thief and recovered the mask. Despondent at what he saw, Varram demanded of the pool to know who had betrayed him, which revealed Barnabus as a double-agent. Enraged, Varram attacked Barnabus just a Yuan-Ti emerged unexpectedly and began to slay the remainder of their group. Based on the deaths which had since occured, Barnabus informed the group that the Divination pool, which was powered by sacrifice and death, was "charged" to answer two more questions. After much deliberation, the group decided the first question would be regarding the spy in the midst of the Counvil of Waterdeep. They saw visions of Rath Modar  making a deal with Zariel  and being provided the services of a host of demons. Among them was a succubus, who the vision continued to focus on as she corrupted a Neverwinter aide into betraying secrets and then killing an aide from Mithral Hall before hanging himself. The vision ended with the succubus looking for her next victim among the Order of the Gauntlet  knights. The group decided the second primed question should be asked by Naivara. After asking her question and getting her answer, she volunteered to fly ahead to Boarskyr Bridge with Barnabus and the still unconscious Varram, where the former Wyrmspeaker could be locked safely away for transport back to Waterdeep. The remainder of the group took a long rest, then explored the rest of the tomb. Along they way they defeated mummies, wraiths, and even helped a ghostly librarian find an old book that would allow her to pass on peacefully. Their end of the bargain with the Yuan-Ti completed, the group finally exited the Tomb of Diderius, ready to begin the long journey back to Boarskyr Bridge, and then Waterdeep . At game start it is 22 Nightal in the Year of the Warrior Princess .
