It's not clear to me if purchasing the new DMG bundle would add artwork to the SRD items in the base 5e compendium. If not all the items, at least those items that are illustrated in the DMG. If not, I'll keep using the physical book.
Yes, if an SRD item is in the DMG, and the DMG has artwork, it will include the image of the item. As a bonus, if you install the DMG as a module (plug in?--can't remember off-hand) you will get a collection of separate art handouts for all the magic items.
