Hello, My name is Alexander and I am currently looking for players to run a game using the Zweihander RPG ruleset. Zweihander is a ruleset released in 2017 that is heavily inspired by grimdark fantasy settings that is based on a D100 system. Character creation and progression is really solid with it's ancestry, archetype and profession system that creates a great deal of diversity. Choice of equipment is not Archetype or Profession locked, so any character can utilize any armor but with the inherent drawbacks of using heavy armor. As someone who has played extensively with the D&D 5e ruleset as a Dungeon Master, I do not believe that the transition would be a tedious one as many of the rules outlined in Zweihander are rather straightforward. Combat is very fairly active by having multiple baseline choices in any given round with much of the system being very interactive. Instead of advantage of the 5e system, there are levels of difficulty to any given skill or attack, giving bonuses or detriments based on your own tactical or roleplay choices that increase or decrease your chances of success. With Zweihander's progression system based on spending reward points that you get at the end of each session in order to advance into different tiers of play, You can potentially advance your character every session by spending your Reward points on Skills, ASI, Talents, Focuses, Languages, and Spells. And to the earlier point of Equipment not being locked behind Archetype and Equipment, You can basically spend your Reward points to get Skills and Talents that aren't normally available to your Profession. You just have to spend double the reward points. With this system, there are more character creation combinations that you can come up with in one book than most of what 5e has with its Class/Subclass progression. The only thing that 5e has more of is greater baseline race diversity. However, with Zweihander's Ancestry system, each of the ruleset's 10 races get an option of 12 different Ancsestral traits giving a choice of 120 different combinations. There are 72 different baseline professions spread among the 6 Archetypes which you can pick up between the 3 tiers. Not including the expert professions that you can advance into or the professions and expert professions within its expansion, there are more than 42 million combinations that you utilize to create your own character The Zweihander Game that I am Running takes place in the homebrew fantasy world of Aernum where a 500 year war between Elves and Men has brought much of the known world into a global war. The Zweihander's Player handbook is readily available on the Roll20 marketplace for free and Roll20 hosts an in session compendium for easy access of information. Any person with a Roll20 account can play Zweihander without having to invest a single penny in necessary player materials. With this being a free game with free materials on hand, All that you have to ask yourself is Do you have the time? If you want to entertain yourself because your Fridays are open, This would be a great time to learn a new, easy-to-grasp system.
