Mankind revels in it's ability to forget. We forget everyday. It is an unconscious decision. The things we need to do, the things we have done, it's all relative to the mind of a sentient being because at the end of it all, we need to forget. The horrors of this everyday existence are too much for us to bear. A millenia ago, the tome was opened for the first time. We had been told we were not alone. There were others, and this world belonged to them just as much as it belonged to us. We should've trusted it. We should have prepared. But we did what we do best; we forgot. And now, the tome is opened again for the final time.  These are the final words of the Empire of Light. The very land quakes beneath our feet. The Gods are angry. We shall fight, but we fear that death is upon us. Remember us. An excerpt from the History of the Empiria de Lux Welcome to Eternia. A millenia ago, a wizard by the name of Jorael beseeched the gods using the ultimate magick known to mankind; a wish spell, granted to him by Lux, the God of the Sun. It has been lost to the ages what exactly Jorael wished for, but the world irrevocably changed from that very moment. The massive landmass known simply as Gaia split; the seas could not be traversed, winged creatures or teleportation magic could not travel away from the land they started from, and any who tried to do so were struck down by the Gods themselves. Jorael disappeared, never to be seen again. For a thousand years, there was no contact between the six continents of Eternia, and as such, the passage of time brought on a new age of independence and strength for each of the continents.  They flourished alone; each forming communities and focusing on the strengths of it's inhabitants. Each of them grew in their own way and created settlements, cities and towns of their own. Six very different continents but each had a similarity that was found only when the spell broke. Each of them was in the need of heroes. The barrier is down. The world is up to be explored. Darkness comes from every direction, and the light is nowhere to be seen. Answer the call and forge your own destiny in Eternia. Eternia is an original homebrew setting in which the main continents have had over a millennia being isolated only amongst themselves. The continents and their themes and Inspirations) are: Konsu - Konsu is a land of opportunity. They say that Linfang the Thousand Headed was thrown from his heavenly chariot by the God of Sun a millenia ago. The seas rose around his body and his scales formed the continent of Konsu. From it's monasteries to its practitioners of the sword, Konsu is a land of varied individuals full of character and strength. It is ruled by the Gao-ming Dynasty. (Inspiration: Feudal Japan, Mulan, Anime, Kara-tur, Game of Thrones) Hope-  The Continent of Hope signifies just that; hope. Adventurers triumph over evil, magicks are a way of life, and the darkness might rise but there shall always be a light to fight against it. The most learned of them all form the Chosen; an elite group of adventurers that serve as the defacto leaders of the seven major towns in Hope. (Inspiration: Faerun, Lord of the Rings, Eragon) Dra'ak-  Where there is light, there must also be darkness. The people of Dra'ak know this well; they hide in the shadows of the gargantuan trees and wildlife that besot their beloved land. The things found here might seem alien to some, Eldritch to others, but to the druids, shamans, and barbarian tribes  that reside here, they are a way of life. The ruling tribe is the Rolling Serpent tribe and they command most of the other tribes that reside under them. (The Forest, LOST, Outlast 2) Lagrit - Rich in sulphur, the people of Lagrit very early discovered that flame and a little bit of powder can result in a very big boom. It is a lawless place, where the word of the Sheriff and the bounty in your pocket can buy you a way of living unlike any other. Each town is ruled by a Governor who is appointed by the Attorney General. (Inspiration: Django Unchained, The Magnificent Seven, Wild Wild West) Indrium-  It was a fluke accident that gave Indrium much of it's fame. When an alchemist was boiling water for one of her potions, she fell asleep and later awoke to the steam from the boiling water turning a metal windmill on her table. Since then, the continent of Indrium has come a long way. Huge chunks of land have been turned into Steam Train-Tracks connecting all the major cities, and it has become a major hub of commerce and technology for the rest of the world since the barriers fell. (Inspiration: Eberron, Fullmetal Alchemist, Bioshock) Brione-  The Continent of Brione is locked in an epic struggle. On one side, the Thymos Empire fights for the Thymosian Gods, and on the other the Aurelius Dynasty stands for their God Emperor Darius Aurelius. For almost a decade strong, this war has been ongoing. And tensions are just rising. Brione is a land of heroes, but magick is uncommon here. Those versed in magic are prosecuted on either side of the war for it's role in the death of Emperor Thoswald Brione ten years ago. (Inspiration: Julius Caesar, Greek Mythology, Roman Mythology)   What to expect in a game I run A long term game that runs consistently every week for a long time.
