Insulae De Libertatem

Hello everyone. My companions and I have reopened this game and are looking for folks willing to join it.  Insulae de Libertatem ('the Isles of Liberty') is still recovering after the onslaught of the Deathmarch armies that tore the land asunder and destroyed many of its former cities. Nations rose and fell during that time as they buckled and strained against the terrors and horrors of warfare on a scale which they had never known before. Wild beasts now roam the countrysides and wander almost unchecked and rampant; decimating small villages and settlements as the rest of the world tries to rebuild.  Calaban City is the arrival point for most adventurers seeking to claim their fame and fortune in this still untamed land. Its shores bustle with boats both large and small as they jostle one another to find safe harbor and offload their passengers and cargo. Many come simply seeking a better life as land claims can be had fairly cheap on Insulae de Libertatem. Few, however, can hold such claims and most lose everything in their quest to achieve dominance over these lands.  The winters of the continent are harsh. The summers are mild. Spring is relatively cold and autumn as well. Snow storms are common during the winter months while rain dominates the majority of the spring, summer and autumn. Most adventurers from other parts of the world find themselves chilly in these lands.  The soils of Libertatem are harsh and rocky even in areas where grass is common. Food is not easy to find in the wilderness. Diseases run amok in rivers; forcing adventurers to be cautious and purify their water if they want to survive for very long.  . [2:21 AM] Despite these conditions the survivors native to Libertatem are often caring if slow to warm up. Most of them agree that the only way to survive on these harsh lands is to work together. But no culture is complete without a criminal element of course. Calaban City and New Harbor both feature vast criminal networks while the smaller towns in the world such as Aisenberg are often without such criminal contacts.  "Magi" however, are not so fortunate. These spell slingers, save for the few paladins and clerics that still remain, are often scorned, misjudged and feared. Curses run amok; many of them unable to be broken by clerics with a simple spell to remove them or purify them. Magic items are exceptionally rare; almost to the point of non-existence.  Harsh is a way to describe the world. Unfair would be another way to describe it. War torn would also be accurate. But defeated? Insulae de Libertatem is far from defeated and far from beaten down.  But what of you, adventurer? Who will you be? Will you be just another casualty on this continent; claimed by its outlandish monsters and cruel, thirsty gods? Or will your name be praised and sung in the annuads of history?  Time to make your fortune, or meet with fate, adventurer. Things to expect:  1) Your character will start at level 1.  2) Due to the nature of a west marches styled game we use XP.  3) Homebrew monsters that defy expectations and are challenging and brutal but fair 4) GMs that know what they're doing (usually) 5) Homebrew mechanics such as crafting, potion making and an economy that is run by players for the most part 6) A rich lore and backstory to the continent and every monster you encounter We do play by post. But we also have voice options for those inclined. If you wish to join merely message me privately and I will attend to you as soon as I am able.
Oh right. You'll need discord for Voice stuff. R20's voice chat doesn't work for most of the people we already have.
It’s a great place here. Players have the option to quest via Voice Chat, Play-by-Post or a mixture of both. If you’re seeking quests rich with storytelling, intermixed with a dash of puzzles, morale questions for your character(s) and combat, then this is likely the place for you. We allow all DND books except Mystics and certain things in UA (like the Fighter Subclass Psi Knight (because it doesn’t fit the world)), and we look through suggested Homebrew and often use Homebrew in the campaign. For character sheets, we use DND Beyond, GSheets and Dicecloud. And for rolls, we use Avrae and Sidekick on Discord. Come on by, we won’t bite. It’ll be great to have ya. ;>
I was sincerely denied to be waifu So I decided to join here. I BECAME DA WAIFU Real note though, awesome place, gritty realism, lots of possibility. Become conquer of worlds? Bet. You wanna wish your own existence away? You got it. You wanna stab someone in the dead of night or snuggle everything alive? You betcha. You serve to enrich this world with your slave actions.
We got frogs bruh
A server where you may actually be killed by frog people, eaten by lizardmen, or overwhelmed by smart ass goblins who are stupidly stronk with weapon. I see no reason why you shouldn't join. I'm having a blast on the server and everyone is pretty friendly and extremely helpful to new players like me. I do recommend at least checking it out
I appreciate the feedback guys. Love you all.
I just joined so I can't exactly say if it's a good westmarch or a bad one, but from what I've seen it's a very good one. I do know that the people here are all good people, and that the community is warm and welcoming, so there's that at least. There's also a Crab God there, that has to be a plus.
A great server with an even better community. The first quest I went on I laughed harder than I'd laughed in nearly 3 months, and I would highly recommend joining if you're looking for a fun westmarch. That Rascaldees guy is kinda sus though, ngl.
They have great dms and good quests that aren’t alway focus around just breaking stuff and killing monsters. There’s also generally good rp whenever your just in town
Great dms here, plenty of quests going on, and fun dungeon delves. There is good rp and fun quests that don't always have to be combat.
Wonderful server, with even better GMs and quests. There are also a lot of interesting rp oppurtunities in and out of quests (wich can be play-by-post or in vocal chat). Add a welcoming community and well organized bots and you have the recipe for enjoyable times with other roplayers online.
Amazing DM's, nice to work with, really immersive and interestingly built world. I've been here for maybe over a month now and I've felt so welcomed by the community and haven't had a single issue with players or staff. I always am looking for another session to play here with my characters. I'm so happy I found this place, its the best experience with DND I've had in my 5 years of playing, even involving in person sessions. If you're interested in an immersive world with very talented and tactical DM's, and having to challenge your mind to make sure you can fight through encounters with your party.
The players are fun and like to roleplay. We goof around a lot. Its gives me the warm and fuzzy hanging out with the fools on there. The games are pretty fun too. Its a low magic setting.
Very fun and good in general. DMs are all chill and talented, and they're always looking for new people to DM for them. Missions are all fair and vary in difficulty and progress at a healthy pace. Anything's allowed, anything's possible. Make a character and have fun with it.
