If you are talking about where a player is logged into the game but there is not active gaming going on since the last session. This is a known issue that caused when some closes their browser instead of logging out of the game session first. That player has to log back in a game session and then properly log out. Unfortunately there is no session logout for GM's to log a player out of a session. And kicking a player removes them from the player list so you had to invite them back. I would reach out to the player and ask him to sign  in and sign out as the best option. If you are worried you do not want them to see what you prepping for next time. I always have Player landing page so when the games not in session that's all they see and I always whisper rolls to the GM if i need to make a test roll.

I believe he's talking about having a player that is pay-to-play, but hasn't paid for this session.  He'd like that person to still be a member of the game, but prevent him from being a part of the current session. There isn't a good way fo doing that in Roll20.  The best you could do is split the party and drag that player's avatar to a page by themselves.  You can even add a message about paying for the session and such. =D  They'd still have the chat, and would be on the built in audio/video. Other than that, you'd have to kick them from the game, and send them a new invite after the current session.  That won't block them, but they will need to rejoin.  Once they have rejoined, everything will still be set up with permissions for them as it was before.
Thank you very much  =)
