Random dice roller

You can call this bitching if you want to however, the group that I play with is seriously questioning the "randomness" of your random dice roll generator.  We have played 3 sessions with it now and have received more <10 rolls than seems possible, not only that but there have been more 1s rolled in just one of these sessions than in any 5 sessions we've played ever before IRL.  This is extremely frustrating as we question whether we should continue using roll20.net as it is practically impossible to accomplish anything in our sessions as the vast majority of our rolls are ridiculously low, which is statistically an impossibility if you are using a truly random generator.

Just a question, are you aware that physical dice normally roll 1's and 20's less than 5% of the time? The odds of rolling a 1 or 20 is usually worse than rolling a 10 or 11. The reason for this is that most d20s are designed so that the 1-20 axis is longer while the 10-11 is the shortest axis. You can test this using a micrometer.  Next, many IRL dice are weighted improperly. You can test this using a salt solution. Mix salt into the water until the dice float. Spin the die and if it radically changes direction at the end of it's spin it is weighted.  So when comparing any RNG to real dice you will experience a significantly greater number of 1's and 20's than you normally would.  Additionally, unless you roll thousands or millions of rolls, any pattern is probably in the mind of the observer. Humans tend to see patterns where they do not exist. IRL I have had major runs of low rolls too. Just as GMs have had major runs of high rolls and it seems like his dice is trying to kill people. :D - Gauss
