Yo, I run an Discord D&D community called Realme. Currently we have 35 members with 5 weekly campaigns, 1 bi-weekly campaign, and 1 PbP campaign running, which gives most of our members games, but we need a new batch of people —players and DMs, preferably about 10— to get some of our stragglers games, to top off the player count for a couple running campaigns, and to set up another game or two. First I'll explain some of the games, then I'll explain the server's vibe. GAMES Me and my fellow are setting up a new game for Monday afternoon/evenings CST (likely somewhere within the range of 5PM-11PM CST) , and could use a batch of players who are also DMs . The plan for this game is to keep a continuous story and cast of characters, but to switch DMs every few weeks to make sure everyone has a chance to play, since a lot of DMs get stuck DMing and never get to be players. I've heard good things about this method so I'm eager to try it. To keep it simple we're going to use the classic D&D campaign setting —The Forgotten Realms— to start off with and to use as a base location for the party, but once we're all comfortable, we can transition into plane-hopping and spelljamming adventures, with each of us writing our arcs/adventures for different planets/planes, that way we wont have to worry so much about messing up each others' consistency. In case it comes up, I'll act as the resident lore master for the big cosmic lore (Overgods, Planescape, Spelljammer, and Cosmology/Cosmogony etc). Depending on the DM ofc, we're likely going to be using R20 or Foundry VTT for maps. I'm thinking the DM arcs can last 1-2 months (4-8 sessions) depending on the DM's desire/party pace, and we can run levels 8-12, leveling at the end of each arc, for a nice campaign length of 16 months. But, I'm getting ahead of myself, we need all the members to discuss to finalize the rules! One running game is looking for 1-2 players for Mondays at Noon-3PM CST , since we have a couple regular absentees due to schedule weirdness. It's a player-driven medieval high-fantasy investigative adventure in a homebrew world (prepped and improvised by the DM) that is extremely young in its history; full of active gods, guardian dragons, beautiful royalty, and evil demons, as well as quickly advancing mortal civilizations trying to figure the world and eachother out. We use homebrew rules for Ancestral Weapons in it, which are customizable personal magic items that level up with you. It's a pretty short but sweet game, usually runs between 2 to 3 hours. We use Roll20 for maps, but 75% of the time it's theater-of-the-mind. If you're the type who minds, the party comp so far is a Tiefling Assassin Rogue, a Human Conjuration Wizard, a Fathom Knowledge Cleric, a Human Centurion Fighter, and a Half-Orc Beast Barbarian (our barbarian and fighter are occasionally absent). Currently we are level 7 (about to hit 8 I think). Another running game, set in the Star Wars universe in the age of the Galactic Empire (using a Star Wars 5e rule set ( https://sw5e.com/ )) is looking for 2-3 players for Sundays at 6PM-9/10PM CST . It's a player-driven, very loosey-goosey, high-numbers brrr, and poggers-moments™ type of game, because the SW5e ruleset is not balanced at all in favor of indulging in that sweet flavor, and we've fully broken from sticking near the Star Wars canon at this point; but it truly has tons of heart and we all love and stan the DM. It may transform into a rolling-DM game, where we give the reigns of DM to a different player each arc, or into a co-DM game with me and the original DM double teaming the players. We use Roll20 for maps. Now, I can't explain the party comp since I don't understand the ruleset in its entirety, but the characters are: a Consular Chiss possessed by an ancient sith with aims on defeating Palpatine and making a new empire; a naive force sensitive Kushiban who rides a probe droid with a BIG gun attached; a calm , collected , and well mannered Magnaguard Droid and his equally calm twin 8 ) 8 ) ; an extremely deadly psychotic Nightister Bartokk who is way too close and huggy and watches everyone sleep; and a fallen Jedi Guardian/Mandalorian with a love for smoking hardcore spice and chopping stormtroopers with his light-glaive. We just became level 15! Lastly, we could use a DM and a couple players for a new Tuesday 5e game at 7PM CST running for around 4 hours . We have a few sttraggler players who lost their DM and have been in need of a game in the server for a minute, so make sure you're consistent if you want to DM this please! SERVER INFO Realme currently has 35 members and a few friends/guests/LFG stragglers, and as I mentioned at the top, a good amount of running games. It is an 18+ server since we get crazy sometimes. I'm into bringing different people together, so we have a lot of diversity amongst ages, genders, sexualities, personalities, races, nationalities, backgrounds/occupations, time zones, as well as experience levels and player types in D&D, all that jazz; and everyone's kind and getting along well which I'm pretty proud of. Lots of artists in there too which is nice. We have a screening server where we ask each new member a few questions about themselves and make sure they're cool with our rules before we add them into the Realme server, and we use a google spreadsheet for scheduling our games around our availabilities. I usually give tours of the server in voice chat and help peeps set up their schedule and get situated so it isn't too daunting. That said, my Discord ID is Zionswasd#8143, add me if you're interested! Don't be shy! :D
