Weekly Gaming Summary #41 (01/24/2021)

Thank You For Playing today's game 01/24/2021 - From 8:15 EDT, until 11:15 pm EDT, and our 279th Gaming Session, goes out to:   Barbarian – Human Female – Zhora & Cleric – Human Female - Sheila - Chris M. Fighter – Human – Dru - Jarahawk Magic-User - Elf - Xilicien -  Devin M. Monk (Oriental) – Human – Lo Shan -  Roxxifarius   Ranger – Half Elf – Camlin  –  Buddy-D   Those whom could not make it to the session today! Everyone Attended!   (4 th session in a year; 6 times overall that we had full attendance for the campaign)   Game Summary for Sunday Evening (01/24/2021):   Opening Scene: It is now 48 days into the adventure (since setting off in the Belle Venture), and It is now:  6:30 am on September 10th (Day 45 on the Isle of Dread). The adventurers are back in the slum district of the Forbidden City. The structure they have entered is actually being rehabilitated to it’s former glory. Lo Shan had successfully picked open a locked door that let them into the building and they explored through it and have now come upon a door where Lo Shan has hear various loud snores coming from inside. After have a peek inside it is seen that bugbears are sleeping here and none appear to be wearing armor! Sheila has whispered a Prayer spell granting the party +1 on attack ‘To Hit’ Rolls and Saving Throws, and the opposite for enemy opponents, lasting 7 rounds. Xilicien casted the Web spell on several of the bugbears sleeping in the north west corner of the room, ensnaring all but one and lasting 140 minutes.  Only 2 of them were able to move through the webbing at half speed, the other 7 were trapped and in danger of suffocating! Lo Shan, successfully moved quietly over to near the two Bugbears in the north east corner rolling a 6% needing ≤ 77%. Zhora tries to move in on a bugbear opposite the one Lo Shan approached by made noise enough that they awake! Initiative rolls are made and Combat Round #01 begins: Xilicien , casts 4 Magic Missiles, sending two each onto two different bugbears causing 6 and 9 total force damage to #06 & #07!   Lo Shan, pounds Bb #03 for 9 damage, with the Iron Fist attack!   Dru, holds his attack.   Lord Cromther, slashes Bb #09 for 16 damage with the magica +1/+3 vs regens, long sword!   Zhora, fires an arrow from her composite short bow but missed Bb #03!   Camlin, fumbles his swing with the magical +1 Calenyanda long sword, it simply gets stuck in the webbing!   2 nd Attacks for Round #01: Lo Shan, pounds Bb #03 for 6 bludgeoning damage with the Kung-Fu Iron Fist, elbow shot, also stunning him for 6 rounds!   Zhora’s arrow shot strikes Bb#03 for 4 piercing damage!     Combat Round #02: Xilicien, fires 4 Magic Missiles at Bb #05 & #08 for 6 and 9 total force damage!   Lo Shan, slams a Kung-Fu Side Kick into Bb #03 for 5 bludgeoning damage stunning him for an addition round !   Dru, holds his attack.   Lord Cromther, slashes Bb #09 for 14 damage with the +1/+3 long sword!   Zhora, slashes Bb #03 for 14 damage with the two-handed sword, defeating him!   Camln, slashes BB #09 for 9 damage with the +1 Calenyanda sword!   Bugbear #10, missed Lord Cromther with the long sword!   Bugbear #09, missed Lord Cromther with the long sword!   Sheila, hits Bb #10 for 8 bludgeoning damage with her magical +2 footman’s mace!     2 nd Attacks for Round #02: Lo Shan, pounds with his Iron Fist for 7 bludgeoning damage to Bb #10!   Lord Cromther, slashes Bb #09 for 11 daamge with the magical +1/+3 long sword, defeating him!     Combat Round #03:  Lo Shan, pounds Bugbear #10 for 11 bludgening damage with the Iron Fist move!   Lord Cromther, slashes Bb #10 for 8 damage with the +1/+3 long sword!   Zhora, cuts down Bb #10 with the two-handed sword for 15 damage, defeating him!   A Bugbear cuts himself out of the webbing now!   Sheila, swings her +2 footman’s mace at Bb #05 but missed!     2 nd Attacks for Round #03: Lo Shan, pounds Bb #05 with the Iron Fist move,  dealing 7 bludgeoning damage!   Zhora, swings and hits Bb #05 for 13 slashing damage, with her two-handed sword , sending him falling to the floor defeated!     Combat Round #04: Zhora, slashes Bb #08 for 11 damage with the +2 short sword!   Camlin, slashes Bb #08 for 9 damage with the +1 Calenyanda sword!   Sheila, slams Bb #03 with the +2 footman’s mace for 9 damage!   Three suffocation rolls are made and one of them now dies from suffocation!     Combat Round #05: Lo Shan, fumbles a bit when trying to pound Bb #01 with the Iron Fist move!   Zhora, cuts down Bb #08 with the +2 short sword for 7 damage, defeating him!   Another bugbear suffocates in the webbing leaving one left and he party just leaves the webbing go in the hope it will eventually suffocate him as well until it disappears.   End of combat!   Lo Shan, searches the room for a secret door or hidden item and did not find one. However, 3 of the unwebbed fur piles had coin pouches in them! Once the webbing dissipates as it’s magics wear off 7 more coin pouches are retrieved.   The party then heads for another structure, this one is seen to have guards around it at each entrance.   Lo Shan questions a bugbear guard about the building but was told that it was none of his business. So Lo Shan offers some cash to get inside and still a no go, the bugbear saying that due to a recent rash of break-ins, there are now more guards around.   The bugbear guard then calls for Tiny to show himself and it turns out he is a Hill Giant! Shiela casts her Hold Person spell and the Hill Giant saves against it rolling a 12 needing ≥ 10! [Really Large size persons are actually unaffected anyways! You would need to create a Hold Giant for that!]   Initiative rolls are made and Combat Round #01 begins: Xilicien casts his Melf Minute Meteors spell at the Hill Giant sending 5 of them for 21 damage! [Forgot to make saving throws on each one!]   Hill Giant, whacks Sheila for 21 damage with his large wooden club!   Camlin, fires an arrow from the +1 Foeseeker long bow, dealing 13 damage at point blank range of 6-30ft!   Lord Cromther, slashes the Bugbear #01 with his +1/+3 long sword, for 10 damage!   Bugbear #01, missed Lord Cromther with his Flail!   Sheila, tries the Hold Person spell on the Hill Giant again and he makes the save rolling an 11 needing ≥ 10!   Zhora, slashes the Hill Giant for 11 damage with the +2 short sword!
Lo Shan, sends a flying Kick move into the Hill Giant dealing 29 damage!   Camlin, fires an arrow dealing 5 damage to the Hill Giant!     2 nd attacks for round #01: Camlin, fires an arrow for 5 damage to the Hill Giant!     Combat Round #02: Hill Giant, missed Zhora with his large wooden club!   Dru, stabs Bugbear #01 for 5 damage with his dagger, defeating him!   Camlin, fires and arrow at the Hill Giant but missed!   Lo Shan, sends a head bash with a Kung-Fu Kick to the Hill Giant dealing 8 damage, defeating him!   Lord Cromther, slashes Bugbear #10 for  13 damage with the +1/+3 long sword!   Zhora, fires an arrow with her composite short bow at  Bugbear #10, for 3 damage, defeating him!   End of Combat!     Nothing of value found upon the guards, however a ring of 6 keys are upon the hill giant!   Sheila, praying to Ra, uses three cure serious wounds spells upon herself to heal back 15 total hit points. Then three cure light wounds spells upon herself to heal back 11 more hit points.   Lo Shan attempts to hear noise at the double doors and did not hear anything rolling 65% needing  ≤ 35%. Then seeing that it is locked tries to pick it open rolling a 69% needing ≤ 62%.   Now the keys are tried and one of them opens the door! Once inside they see it is a weapons storage warehouse! They see long swords, maces, flails, spears, breastplates and shields among the many items here. There are double doors on the north and south walls here. The double doors they have entered through are locked shut.   The south door is tried first and it is not locked so they enter and see a room full of chests. Two of the chests are locked.   Lo Shan checks for a trap on one chest rolling a 90% needing ≤ 50%, he did not find one! Lo Shan picks the lock, rolling a 95% needing ≤ 62% and could not open it so he tries the other chest rolling a 59% needing ≤ 62% and it pops open, revealing a load of gold coins!   They go to the north door and open it revealing various crates about the room, two of them are locked so Lo Shan gets to work picking them open. Rolling a 73% needing ≤ 62%, the first one could not be picked. Rolling a 64% needing ≤ 62%.
