Hello, I'm posting on behalf of a small group of friends hoping to get a new game together. Specifically we need a DM. We have a pretty wide spread of D&D experience. One of us has been playing for nearly a decade, others less than a year. Two of them have actually only ever played in 2-3 sessions ever. I personally have been playing for just over a year. We're kind of stuck because none of us are really comfortable as, or able to, DM. You can expect a pretty informal attitude among the group. We've all been online video-gaming friends for close to a decade, but D&D together is somewhat new. It should be interesting. Let me know if you're interested and we'll talk.
i've been thinking about writing and running a short campaign using the 3.5 system. it would probably be a mix of pre-published and self written adventures. before i get too detailed about anything, i would first need to know what day and time you had in mind to make sure i could be available.

Cool "Eddie" avatar, Jeff D. My offer is I'd run a fairly short / basic dungeon crawl for your group, using a simplified 2E. I'm not a 3.5 player at all (I've played it a few times of course), I'm an enthusiast for 2nd edition, however I am not a huge stickler for rules or anything like that, I just like the character types and flexibility in 2nd edition, and we would employ plenty of "optional" rules especially in areas of simplifying rather than complicating. For example we would have a map for parts of the game, and use our imagination for parts of the game without looking on the map: and on the maps we would have movement rates, but would not have bonuses for positions like flanking that are more emphasized in 3E. We would initially plan for 1 session of perhaps 3 to 5 hours, probably more like 3 hrs of gameplay but allow some time for making sure everyone's microphone works on a good sound level, and so on. If it goes well, then we would expand it into a campaign / longer adventure for next time, with deeper character backstories and motives and relationships. Check your PM's.
