[LFP][D&D][5E][PAID][WEEKLY][MATURE 18+] Seeking 5 More Players, Tuesdays 6:00 PM CST, The Tyranny of Dragons [The Hoard of the Dragon Queen][The Rise of Tiamat]

The Tyranny of Dragons <a href="https://app.roll20.net/lfg/listing/275404/tyranny-of-dragons" rel="nofollow">https://app.roll20.net/lfg/listing/275404/tyranny-of-dragons</a> Storyline Overview For years, the evil Cult of the Dragon has devoted itself to creating undead dragons in a vain attempt to fulfill an ancient prophecy. However, the cultists were misguided. They misunderstood. But now, under new leadership, the cult believes that the prophecy does not speak of undead dragons, but of a dragon empire that's been extinct for 25,000 years. Tiamat, the queen of evil dragons, has languished in the Nine Hells for millennia. The cult believes that the time of her return is at hand. The cult has a new face and a new mission. It seeks to free Tiamat from the Nine Hells and bring her into the Forgotten Realms. To accomplish its goal, the cult needs five ancient dragon masks and the support of evil dragons everywhere. The cult leaders—each one a "dragon whisperer"—have reached out to the evil dragons of the Sword Coast and earned their allegiance. Meanwhile, evil dragons in partnership with the cult seek to amass a treasure hoard worthy of their dark queen, not by plundering their own hoards (of course) but by stealing money from cities, caravans, good-aligned dragons, merchant ships, and other sources. Their ravenous hunt for treasure throws the Sword Coast into upheaval. Neverwinter, Waterdeep, Baldur's Gate—no city is safe from their depredations. The situation is dire. However, the Sword Coast is far from defenseless. Powerful factions are ready to rise up and put an end to the tyranny of dragons. Adventurers throughout the Realms must join forces to face Tiamat, destroy the Cult of the Dragon, and prevent the rise of a new dragon empire. The Harpers have since shared their intelligence with the remaining factions. To combat the Cult of the Dragon, Lord Dagult Neverember of Neverwinter proposes that adventurers representing each of the five factions be sent north to investigate—and to report back with haste. In their hands, the future lies. Game Details Campaign: &nbsp; The Tyranny of Dragons (The Hoard of the Dragon Queen and The Rise of Tiamat) Date:&nbsp; Weekly sessions every Tuesday Time: 6:00 &nbsp;PM CST/7:00 PM EST Place:&nbsp; Virtual tabletop on Roll20, voice chat on Discord Duration:&nbsp; Sessions last 3-4 hours Payment:&nbsp; This game will require payment to the Game Master at a rate of $12 per session via Paypal. Roll20 is not responsible for any payment transactions and cannot enforce any private arrangements. Session 0 and Session 1 are free. Why Pay to Play? Here are some of the reasons why paid games provide a superior experience: Charging a per-person fee usually eliminates player no-shows. It also shows commitment&nbsp;to the game and ensures serious players in place of whimsical ones. The maturity level is exponentially higher in paid games. The cost of going to a movie is far more expensive than paying for a 3-4 hour game session and lasts much longer than the movie (Nearly twice as long). Material costs associated with running a top-shelf game are covered.&nbsp; The DM's Roll20 Pro membership ensures that players have access to all of the extras, including D&amp;D 5e Compendium integration, API scripts, and more. Charging a fee ensures the DM provides a friendly environment where all types of players can coexist and can be relied upon to be as reliable as the paid players in their commitment to the game. About the Dungeon Master I've been running Dungeons and Dragons games since I was 10 years old (1984) and have never wavered in my commitment to role playing games ever since. I have always run game sessions for my friends and family (including my children) throughout the years and often play online MMORPGs online such as World of Warcraft, Star Wars: The Old Republic, or Anarchy Online (And I still do). Prior to this I have never charged to run a game before. I have always done it out of the kindness of my heart and for the love of the game. It posed many problems with unreliable players, lack of seriousness (and soberness), and many other multitudes of problems that arose from simple human nature. My wife (Who also played) would become very angry after watching how much time and energy I invested into preparations to have it disrespected by players actions. The common problem in this equation is they had nothing to lose by acting out of immaturity and there was no consequence to their actions. They could miss the game session and impact the story (as well as others enjoyment of said story) without any negative adverse affect&nbsp;themselves. This is why I have evolved to charging for my services and I am confident I will be able to deliver the experience&nbsp;that others are seeking in looking for a game to join. Back to me personally, I have a vast array of diverse&nbsp;experience with many games which are too many to list. You would be hard pressed to mention a game that I have not run, played, or read front to back. This has allowed me to make extremely fair rulings on game mechanics and at the end of the day, my only motivation is to enhance the story and to continue the level of enjoyment that brings them back week after week. I also happened to be a very talented writer (proclaimed to me over and over again) and I love creating interesting storylines, subplots, side adventures, and really fleshing out world we are running in (even when that world has been created by others; Such as the Forgotten Realms). I demand that we have a LGBTQ friendly welcoming adult (Mature 18+) atmosphere where there are no stupid questions (only the unasked ones) and open communications so we can address any concerns (public or private) to make the game enjoyable to all parties involved and at the sacrifice of none. The reality is that I need mature consistent open minded players as much as I have to be an understanding and fair DM in order to make each weekly session enjoyable enough that you are in anticipation to see what happens in the following session throughout the whole week. You should be as excited as when you find it hard to put down a good book because you are that invested in the story that I am providing to you, except in this instance, with your help as a solid player.&nbsp; Character Creation Characters begin the adventure at Level 1 and play continues on a weekly basis until the adventures storyline has been completed. Those who are unfamiliar with character creation will be provided the assistance needed at no additional cost (Even if special attention is needed during session 0). The majority of the homebrew rules will be at the DM discretion. The players should not make an evil character for this campaign and dragon related backgrounds will be limited (if not excluded) at the DMs discretion due to the nature of the storyline. Character creation equality is the highest priority to the overall enjoyment of everyone involved. A small man, a gnome actually, stepped out of the brightly painted wagon juggling a stool and a wrapped up bundle. Looking up, he saw you standing just outside of the firelight of his campfire. "Ohai! Welcome, welcome...please, come take a seat. I have water heating up for tea and I'm sure there's still wild berry pie, or some bread around to start you off with." The smile, almost hidden behind his armloads, seemed genuine. He stepped over to the fire and set down what he was carrying. "My apologies, rattling all along and not an introduction in sight. I'm Madrox Marcher, a gnome of some slight influence and less stature. Now, you don't need to worry about introducing yourself or worrying just yet. You just settle in and I'll see you comfortable and well fed." Opening the bundle, he pulled out some tea satchets and a couple of mugs and plates. He also produced a couple of pillows that he set on the ground opposite the wagon and the smoke of the fire. "I do apologize for not having any chairs or stools sized for you, but these pillows are comfortable and the blanket is warm." Madrox dashed in the wagon again, a human sized wagon, though the door was just right for a gnome. He soon came back out with a tray filled with bottles, a pie with a couple slices gone, a few slices of bread, cheese, an apple and a pear, and some kind of meat. "I wasn't sure what you might be hungry for, so I brought out a bit of everything." Taking the pie, he cut a slice and slid it towards the fire to warm. "I even have a spirit I brew from potatoes. It's mostly tasteless but mixes well with juices and other drinks. My friend, Zavazar, is around here somewhere. You can't miss him. Big guy with a heart of gold and a large bow. He might be willing to share some of his ale if you aren't a fan of these other drinks. I just ask that you don't stare at his scars. I've been working to help reduce them, but he still is self-conscious of them. Not that he'd admit it, stoic type he is." He took the pie away from the fire before it went from warming to further cooking, and put it on one of the plates he apparently brought out, along with a simple wooden fork, and set it within reach. "I travel around, learning what I can and helping where I'm able. Zavazar has been traveling with me for a bit, protecting me he says but he does seem to see trouble all around. Given how we met, I don't suppose I could blame him. Being part of the defenses against a dragon could affect anyone." He settled onto his stool, a cup of sweet smelling tea in his hand. "So, you settle in. When you're ready, mayhap you'd mind sharing your story with me?"

Thorin Anvilcrash. This was the birthright of his hill dwarf lineage reaching back into the clan that was ultimately left behind. Son of Oskar and Delin Anvilcrash, a mason and barmaid respectively, was brought up with the proper amount of love required to make a stable solid dwarf, which is precisely what Thorin was. The regrettable loss of his parents is not something that held him down; It was precisely what lifted him up and away, taking his remarkable and rarely understood talents to new heights in a world that rolled downhill. Upon their deaths, murdered during a daring raid to take precious relics, did the young divine protegee seek their true calling in the wake of unrelenting grief. It was after their untimely passing that his chosen path of self achieved divinity took form, and function, providing the path within the very flames that melted iron and manifested dreams into reality. What was once ignot of iron was now the tip of the spear, metaphorically and sometimes literally, to stab fate in the heart against all odds. The mighty strike of the hammer would make a very distinct sound. The sparks from the molten metal being struck with force would shower the area with the burning embers of fading glory, to die away as the cool air drains away it's former life. This was the transmutation that no one really paid attention to but was witnessed very often, sometimes in public, as the crafter practiced honing their skills. It was unheard of, except by very strong believers, that buried within this process was the path to divinity. The god was in the forge. To what god remained personal, guarded, and any devout cleric would sing their praises, often while smiting iron into transformation, forcing it to become something else entirely. There were messages; Divine messages. Within the very heart of the forge, making metal bend to their will, where the messages were delivered and only the true believers would receive it loud and clear. It was on the eve after committing his parents to their resting place that god revealed a purpose to Thorin of the Anvilcrash clan.... It was in everything. The flames, the reflections, the smoke, the feel of the rough edges, the grind of wheel, the blow of the bellows, the sensations felt in mere moments of reflection and recall. The divinity was not necessarily in the forge nor was it within Thorin, but it certainly was abundantly clear when the two were together. This is when the god would "speak" to their chosen, in the forge of divine domain, where the sun of faerun was cracked open and the cosmic heat washed over their flock, to transform, always and forever. On the day of mourning did the message arrive loud and clear, with every strike of the hammer and with every flood of air from the bellows. Thorin was to avenge his parents and return what was taken. The dragon mask that hung for decades above the archway to the forge had been one of their most coveted prizes. It was deemed unworthy of giving over to the requestor of the project a long time ago. It was an ornamental dragon mask, laced with the finest of ores such as gold, platinum, and silver. It was an arcane casters dream of quality speaking volumes of the magics that could be imbued within. It was this prize that the raiders sought and they paid a hefty price in achieving their goals. For each casualty taken during the raid, they inflicted twice the numbers upon the invaders. The only evidence of the identity to the desecrators was a torn piece of fabric from what would be described as a purple robe; The Cult of the Dragons. The markings upon the dead were unmistakable as well. The target of revenge was easy to identify. The real trick was going to be to track them down and survive whatever opposition they could throw his way. There might even be real dragons at the end of this dark foreboding rainbow. This was all shown to him in the forge, by the forge, through the forge. It was a message that none other than Thorin would or could understand. On the road, pushing towards his divine path, led him onto the open road towards the town of Greenest. All reports indicate that a few men wearing purple robes were sighted marching with all kinds of demi humans and monsters, bearing the sigil of the Cult of the Dragons, heading in the direction of the nearest town, Greenest. It is upon this convergence that Thorin will go, to find the stolen mask, and to locate those responsible for the death of his loving parents, who died long before their prime. And just before he would take his first step towards redemption and revenge, he will partake of another prayer, in the forge; For the forge is never located far away for it is connected to his heart and he takes that every where he goes. And the prayer would sound a little like ...... "I do not pray for lighter burdens, but for broader shoulders. I bring honor to myself and to the great "Eversmith" through hard work and through my deeds "The Maker" sees my worth. Every trial of the world is a refiner’s fire, ever burden the crucible that shapes a man from ore and reveals the quality of his Metal." *carefully removing the glowing punny of now ignis metal from the fire and striking it sharply with the hammer* "For you are the anvil and I am the hammer" *The ring of the steel singing out into the night, echoing from the trees* "With bellows filled, and emptied may the Aevilog fuel the forges from here til the mountain crumbles. Great forger, wielder of the sun forge hear my prayer" *As the hammer falls the ingot seems to glow even hotter than when it was removed from the forge, and with each strike the metal seemed to take shape with only the smallest of effort from the bulking dwarf. As if the metal seemed to shape itself...
