Looking for players for a time-traveling campaign using the Genesys system, based on the classic shooter series Timesplitters. Time and frequency is subject to change, but most likely will be evenings around 9PM EST for about 2-3 hours. The concept revolves around a group of player characters from different time periods banding together and traveling to different points in history in order to stop the nefarious Timesplitter aliens from unraveling the fabric of the space-time continuum and exterminating humanity in the process. I'm looking for about 3-4 players, and no prior knowledge of the game series is required. For those unfamiliar with Timesplitters, I have listed a quick primer of the aliens and general story below. WHAT ARE TIMESPLITTERS? The true name of the race known to humanity as the Timesplitters (or splitters for short) is an incomprehensible mess of alien tongue that no human vocal cords could ever hope to pronounce. Timesplitters have never made much of an attempt to communicate with humans either, at least not directly, preferring to masquerade as angels, monsters or other various beings whenever they meddle within the time stream. Despite extensive study of a few recovered corpses, many things about the Timesplitters race remain unclear even to this day. Their home world, language, how they came upon the Time Crystals, and most of all, their incredible persistence in exterminating all of humanity, still remain mysteries to this day. What is known is that Timesplitters seem to separate themselves into various subspecies. Reaper Splitters, as they are classified by xenobiologists, are the main soldiers of the Timesplitters forces, possessing the uncanny ability to cloak their skin and able to fire incandescent bolts of lightning from their scythe-like hands. They are incredibly vicious and difficult to kill, and despite their lack of apparent eyes, possess senses beyond any mere human. A single Reaper Splitter is easily capable of besting more than a dozen armed men, and extreme precaution should be taken around them. Timesplitters are led by the aptly named Scourge Splitters, who bear a strikingly more humanoid appearance that inevitably only makes them more unsettling. Scourge Splitters are proficient in all manner of weapons unlike Reapers, who are unable to handle such devices, and they can be seen as the commanders who lead packs of Reapers throughout the space-time continuum. Though lacking many of the natural advantages of a Reaper Splitter, Scourge Splitters are extremely cunning and intelligent, and possibly even capable of communication. Their unwillingness to do so in most situations, preferring to vaporize living beings in their path, simply shows just how merciless the Splitters as a race can be. Drone Splitters, though named as such, are a catalogued amphibian race from the planet Slin. They were known to be at a stage of Paleolithic development in their civilization before the Timesplitters invaded their swampy planet, enslaving their entire population and eradicating any who resisted. Implanted with spinal nodes that make them completely subservient to their Timesplitter masters, Drone Splitters are used as expendable shock troops in order to soften up enemy forces for the eventual Reapers. Even their young are not immune to the evil of the Splitters, and are thrown to war without a hint of mercy or compassion. It seems that despite their recent defeat and the retrieval of the Time Crystals just a year ago, war with the Timesplitters continues. Though they don’t possess an innate ability to travel through time, they have planted agents throughout human history, lying in wait for the perfect moment to strike, just when humanity believes itself to be victorious. THE TIME SPLINTER: The Time Splinter, as it is called, is a recent phenomenon caused by the Timesplitters unrestrained jumping between various time periods. Such continuous temporal interference has created a proverbial crack between the fabric of history, plucking people, objects, creatures and other things and transporting them to times and parts unknown. To the Splitters, this means nothing, for the Splinter has allowed their agents to finally strike and do the unthinkable: retrieve the Time Crystals long before Agent Cortez and Corporal Hart even made it to the Space Station in the first place. With the crystals safe in their hands and now armed with the knowledge to correct their future mistakes, the Splitters have retreated to points of history unknown, sending dummy agents to the original time periods and thus dooming Cortez and Hart to an endless and meaningless quest. With this, their victory seems assured… ...if not for the fact that the Time Splinter has also brought together an unlikely group of people, drawn to an ancient nexus in the American Midwest, circa 1655. They come from across time and space, and they share strange, fragmented memories of the Time Crystals; memories that seem like they were from another lifetime. They don’t know it yet, but they may be the only key to stopping the Timesplitters and their plans once and for all. Anyway, thanks for reading! It's time to split!
