Hello, this might take a moment. I am preparing a campaign that will begin in 2-3 weeks. The game will tentatively run alternate Fridays at 4pm-8pm PST. The campaign will take place in a homebrew world that I have been playing off and on for 30+years. While the world is homebrew, it is not unrecognizable. There are a few house rules, which are mostly beneficial to the players, and very minor changes to races due to lore but they are not extensive. The campaign will focus on heroic roleplaying / character development and not the 'big bad'. There will be combat, puzzles and other challenges but they will not be drive the campaign. It should be noted that the game will deal with violence, sex, horror and other taboo topics but they will be handled in a PG/PG-13 manner. Character creation will be a point buy/array and will be limited to official sources (including Tasha's) with a few minor alterations. Just a quick description of the world: Roughly 1200 years ago, the only civilized people who lived on the
continent of Vihrea were the Dwarves who resided in the mountains and
the Underealm, the Elves who lived in the forests and the cat people of
the Tabaxi and Leonin, collectivly know as the Ihmiset, who roamed the
plains. For time immeasurable they lived in peace, only challenged by
the fierce orcs and goblins. Gnomes and Halflings were also present but they did not have a nation to call their own and instead lived within the other nations. The humans arrived and the inevitable war changed everything. When the dust settled the continent was littered with ruins of old
cities, magically scared landscapes, haunted castles, abandoned keeps
and a land that was divided among the nations. The Elves controlled the
north west rain forest region called the Brightwood Kingdom. The Dwarves
remained in control of the Underrealm and the central Stonescar mountain
range. The Humans carved out the southern region for the Goindon Empire. The cat people who had almost been driven to extinction retreated to the southern island of Asada.
The Orcs and Goblins, along with the Trolls and Ogres, collectively
known as the Greenbloods due to the high copper content of their blood,
had a firm hold over the Drotoam Desert in the north eastern region of
Vihrea. 800 years have past and the new King of Goindon is desperately trying to mend the wounds of old. We currently have a DM (me) and 3 players and have room for up to 2 more. A few things that I am looking for in potential players are: 1- The world has a specific lore that I expect players embrace when creating their characters. This means I discourage players from having a predesigned character that they try to force fit. 2- Committed players are obviously most desired. If you are not going to be respectful of the time and effort the Dm and other players invest by at least showing up regularly (I understand that RL sometimes interferes) then please do not apply. 3- D&D is an ensemble experience. I want players who both engage in the game as well as not steal other players chances to shine. 4- I absolutely require a fleshed out backstory with enough room for me to create personal storylines. I will always make time to help with this process if needed. 5- The game will have a fun atmosphere but it is also one grounded in plausibility. Silly characters or one dimensional joke characters just will not fit. 6- I am looking for mature roleplayers of at least 20 years old. I do not want to have to censor language or content of myself or the players. 7- In the ultimate act of irony, intolerance will not be tolerated. This is not just limited to issues of racism, politics, religion or sexual identity. It also means that uncomfortable or invasive roleplaying. In case you do not understand, having your character at constant odds with the other characters or trying to engage in romantic roleplaying without consent are examples of this. These issues will be dealt with quickly and, in most cases, harshly. If this interests you please reply here with any questions. I will respond with a direct message. From there we will discuss things so that you may determine if the game is one you want to join and if you would be a fit with our current players. Thanks for reading and hope to hear from you.
