About Me Hi, I'm Vhaalen, a forever DM going on 25 years. I'm looking for 4 more experienced players for a weekly Rime of the Frostmaiden campaign. I apologize for not accepting new players, but I've done my part bringing hundreds of players into our beloved game over the years, and now I'm looking for a forever group of players that can entertain me as well as I them. Players that know the rules of 5e and how to bring a good story in their characters exploits as well as background are a must. What to Expect Rime of the Frostmaiden is a pretty difficult campaign as is, but I like my D&D slightly gritty so I have a few house rules / 5e rules variants in place that make it a tad more difficult, such as Healers Kit requirement for using hit dice during rest, and custom foraging rules. This is NOT a meatgrinder however. Smart players with clever characters can make max level, but you might wanna have a good backup character created just in case. I'm a fair DM that usually rules in favor of the players and loves rule of cool. That being said, I do follow the rules 95% of the time, and love the consistency and verisimilitude it brings to the game. You're involvement in the overall narrative is up to you, and I will make sure to tie your backgrounds, goals, and secrets into the campaign as it goes along. I make sure each player/character gets their time to shine. I invest a lot into my campaigns. I've bought all applicable sourcebooks, use dynamic lighting, tons of battlemaps, decent sound, voice acting, music, and sound effects. Communication: Discord, please have a good mic/headset. If the players would prefer, we could use video chat as well. Frequency/Duration: Every Tuesday at 4pm CST, Length of 3 hours minimum. Party Size: Preferred 5 players but can easily run with 4. Character Level & Leveling Rate: Characters start at Level 1, they level up together through Milestone-esque achievements such as doing Quests, Clearing Dungeons, or Surviving Dangerous Encounters. Character Creation: The source books for character creation are The Players Handbook, Sword Coast Adventurers Guide, and Xanathar's Guide to Eveything, which I've shared via the compendium. Multi Classing: Allowed but with a good explanation and interweaving into the characters story. Applications ***After your application is accepted, message me to schedule a short voice interview over Discord. Just to make sure we are compatible, and your audio setup isn't janky.*** How long have you played 5e and TTRPGS in general: Preferred character class: What's the last campaign you played in, or are currently playing in: What makes you a reliable player: Give me a short little story of your favorite roleplay moment and favorite character: How much wood could a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood:
