Explorer Mode/Fog Of War with 5E content purchases?

This is probably obvious to anyone who's been here for a while, but I'm new, so please bear with me - if I were to purchase one of the official D&D modules, specifically Ghosts of Saltmarsh, would it come with maps that have explorer mode possible - I want people to be able to see the area they're in, the areas they've been greyed out, and NOT see unexplored areas that they've not been to yet. It's a very worthwhile thing if I can get that, but I don't want to waste my money if I can't. I have the print module, and can scan pages if I have to. I'd just rather someone else did the extensive work of building in walls and other barriers, organizing tokens, etc. I think this is the case, but I don't see it spelled out explicitly anywhere. It says "dynamic lighting" but I'm enough of a newbie that I can't be sure if that means that the maps are set up so I won't reveal the whole map, and can show only places people have been.

Dynamic lighting/explorer mode is available to anyone who is subscribed at plus or pro - the maps are created with it, but you have to have a subscription to be able to actually use it. As far as fog of war goes, you can use standard fog of war at any subscription level. It requires a bit more work from the DM, as you have to reveal areas for your players, but it will likely do most of what you are after. The best thing to do is create a game and play around with this feature to see if it will do what you want. Here is info on how to use the Fog of War tool: https://help.roll20.net/hc/en-us/articles/360037774513-Fog-of-War

If you are Pro or higher, you should be able to easily turn on Explorer mode on any map. There is no process needed to make a map use that feature. Simply turn on the feature in the map's settings and you are good to go. Dynamic lighting, on the other hand, does require some setup. Each module specifies whether DL is set up for use. However, I have never seen a module that was not set up with that feature since it is one of the best features on Roll20.
Thanks Mark. That makes sense, but how does a map know which areas to display as having been visited? If my party walks up a corridor, how does the map know where the walls are, so as not to show detail of a room with a closed door for example?

Probably worth reading through the documentation on both lighting and explorer mode to understand how it works. There are examples with videos and images that show how those modes operate. https://help.roll20.net/hc/en-us/articles/360052532233-How-to-Setup-a-Game-for-Updated-Dynamic-Lighting
Thanks Loren! I've upgraded my account, and will probably get Ghosts Of Saltmarsh soon. I just want to experiment with setting up some simple maps and adding in dynamic lighting and advanced fog of war myself to get a sense for how all of this works in a simple environment.
