I can't do every week) EXPERIENCE: Player and DM SYSTEM: D&D 5e, Monster of the Week FAVORITE CLASS: Fighter, Monk, Wronged ABOUT: Hello all! So, as the message says, I'm a new dad.My wife recently had a child and for the last few months (and the months prior) I had to say good bye to my D&D groups due to lacking time. Now that I am getting some semblance of a schedule, I would like to get back into the D&D world. Sadly my old group cannot accommodate my available time so I am hoping I can find it out here...somewhere. I'm an older guy, late 30s, live in Southern California. I've been a player and DM. I'm nice, I'm funny (or so I think xD), I'm respectful of others, LGBTQ friendly, and over all I'm just here to have fun and hopefully make some friends. I know a lot of people got exposed to this game with in-person groups but I never had that privilege. Growing up, I either had friends who weren't interested or grown-ups who didn't understand what it was about and scared me off from really trying it out. But some friends a couple years ago got me to actually try it and I fell in love with TTRPGS. I have been a player and DM for 5e and Monster of the Week, however I fell into that trap of being an eternal DM and now I would like to find a game where I can just be a player again and have fun. WHAT I'M LOOKING FOR: So the reason I had to leave my old group was because of scheduling. I wasn't available at the time we used to play and I didn't want to ask them to change just for me. Besides, I needed several months of dealing with a new child to find some kind of groove again. That is why I am here! I have a slightly limited schedule Friday - Sunday, and I'm only available for a handful of hours from 3pm-7pm (PST). I hate to be so limited but I have a bit of a schedule to keep with my 6 month old so I need to maintain it. Personally I would love to find a group of like minded, older individuals who would be more inclined to understand my scheduling needs. When it comes to the game itself, I would like a game to consist of some RP and combat, but really I'm mostly into it to see the story unfold. I want to have fun, joke around, but also have some serious moments in it. Over all, I just wanted to get back into the thick of D&D again. Also, because of my schedule, I can really only commit to either every other week or monthly games. Sadly I cannot do weekly. Honestly, I'd even settle for a one shot or two just so I can dip my toe back into the dragon turtle infested waters of TTRPG. So, if anyone is looking for a player (favorite classes are Fighter and Monk, though willing to try a Bard or Sorcerer) please consider me. I may not be the most experienced or best player, but I'll certainly give it my all. Thanks!
