Legacy lighting and Advanced Fog of War

Hey all, maybe you can help me out. I've been having issues with UDL, so I wanted to switch to Legacy lighting and Advanced Fog of War. I would like to use Dynamic lighting and sight enforcement in Advanced Fog of War but every time I try, the game gets so laggy that it's unplayable. This is from both a character side and GM side. I've scoured the internet trying to find out why I have the issue when others done. Is there something an expert can help me with? I'm fairly new at the Roll20 scene, and would prefer to not have to manually reveal rooms and such in old Fog of War. I know you're out there. What can you tell a Rookie about Legacy lighting? How can I use it well until UDL gets it's bugs worked out?

Personally, I just use dynamic lighting with no AFoW. If we are on a real complicated map and the players need to get back to somewhere they have been, I just group and move their tokens for them. If you are set on having bits of the map revealed to them after they have passed through, you might consider the Light Crumbs trick from the Stupid Tricks thread. I haven't used it, but it is said to be much easier on your hardware than AFoW. https://app.roll20.net/forum/permalink/7539533/
With legacy lighting, having AFOW and Global Illumination on at the same time will cause serious lag!
Thanks all! I've been struggling to find ways to have my players enjoy my game but yet still not have a ton of work and pauses on my end to mess with lighting every 2 seconds.
