Page/Map transitions

Is there an API or other method of altering the way the game transitions from map/page to map/page? Currently the cuts from map/page to map/page is a fairly straightforward cut transition. But wipes or page peel could add a cool effect to the game. Imagine the page turning to the new map like turning the page in a book or a Star Wars style wipe while playing Star Wars or other sci fi games.

No, there really isn't.  It sounds like a cool idea, but there isn't much the API has that would let you even simulate that.
