Interesting technique, that the art creator made each art piece as a Character ?! I might be missing something, but, I did try a Spell AOE marketplace product that worked like that. And yes, it was so bulky that I decided not to use/install that particular product, I abandoned it and moved on to a different technique for AOE graphics. I can see how that might be useful in terms of retaining a pre-set Size on the Default Token slot, if that's how and why they set it up that way? If it's any consolation, depending on permission settings, it's likely that only the GM sees those in the drop-down list, the Players won't. There wouldn't be a way to Hide them & Keep them. You could trim down the list by deleting the Character journal entry for whichever art pieces you don't need, or which you already laid-down onto a tabletop. You could go back to Marketplace, find the pack, Click on the Artist's Name there. It shows you Artist Profile. They might have Contact or Social links there. Contact the artist and ask them about it, or find out if there's a different way to use the art pieces.
