Heroes Unlimited Game

I am tossing around the idea of starting a Heroes Unlimited Game. Its a home brew style of the X-Men Academy where players would be just starting their senior year of high school. Not looking for any X-Men Lawyers..... The school would pretty much serve as the back drop. Day to Day activities would eventually roll into adventures, and making it back to class at 8am is a must The classes would be Limited to mutants. Like i said im just tossing this around to get a feeling of the need. Game would run on Thursdays possibly...
Is thursday the only option? What time will you run the sessions? And can we have a sneak preview of the homebrew you're using? And provided I can make it I'd like to call dibs on the guy who can fly or a gadgeteer.
that does sound good.
what systems is Hero games? Champions?

If it's a voice game, I may be interested
It would we via text chat. my mic isn't working, I have an older PC and the jack is jacked... The system is Heroes Unlimited. As per the title in this post. Yeah game days would be Thursday, not flexable on that. more then likely run from 7pm- 11pm CST.
I'd be interested. Need info on character building. Always loved X-Men comics.
Nod to Heroes Unlimited Game!!
Bump for Heroes Unlimited!
Sounds like a great idea! Count me in if you are willing. :)
Yeah why not, if you're still looking send me a link.
I will keep you all in mind when im ready to kick it off. Thanks for the "Temperature Check need."
I started out with text roleplaying and might be interested in trying it again so go ahead and let me know if this gets off the ground.
So did you decide if you were going to run this? Because I just got here looking specifically for Heroes Unlimited. Sounds like a fun idea!
Yeah, I have some stuff in the works... not sure on the start date, my work load doubled. I will keep you in mind.
this would be great! I miss playing Palladium stuff.
I like superheroes, but Heroes Unlimited being a Palladium book has me edgy. I haven't played HU, but I've really hated Palladium the few games that I've played in it. Still, if someone can show me information on the game system, I could look it over. Also, I could play my usual character as a mutant, but I was wondering if there was any flexibility on that requirement. I normally play her as acquiring her abilities through a medical procedure to repair a nerve condition. I could still alter the background, though.
I would think anyone who plays palladium would be more than likely to help you out. it was kind of a complex system for me when I first played.
So, it is based on the usual Palladium system, with OCCs and all that? Ewww....
not the OCCs part.
Don't scare me like that, then! Ugh! OCCs were utter crap... So, if no OCCs, how are characters generated?
depends on the GM. Im assuming you roll stats, roll on a chart for number of abilities, roll which abilities you get, education/skills will probably be high school. Unless you have a idea on what you want, best to ask the GM himself if hes ok with it.
I generally play as a hyperintelligent tinkerer in superhero games, probably with body armor if allowed. Again, depends on what's allowed.
cool!
And, since I normally play Megan as 15, high school is cool! :P
I do not know the Heroes Unlimited System. But does the Mutants Only class limitation on available player character heroes mean that you have to play a human with mutant powers from birth, or does it also open up other mutation possibilities? How about mutates like Spiderman and the Fantastic Four who were born normal humans and were mutated later in life? How about non-human mutates that were genetically altered to sapient sentience such as the TMNT? How about non-human mutants that could interact on par with humans such as Sonic the Hedgehog? How about aliens that can't quiet pass for normal humans such as martian man hunter and ALF, as opposed to the aliens such as the Gallifreyans and Kyptonians which can pass for normal humans? in an unrelated question: Would this high school also be used to educate cyborgs and constructs such as Victor Stone, Jenny Wakeman, and Diana Prince?
Good question. I used try and imitate ALF's voice and Laugh when I was a kid many moons ago.
Hey guys, I can't play on Thursdays, but I have the book and can give you some info: There's different ways to come by your powers, which are the equivalent of character classes. You can choose or roll your "class," and in Rich's case he sounds like he wants everyone to be Mutants . You'd usually roll for a random selection of superpowers, or choose to make a mutant psionic instead. There's a lot of randomness to your stats, education, and powers, so be ready for that. The game also has "classes" to gain powers from scientific Experiments (like Spiderman or Captain America did) or being an Alien. These two classes can let you access the same set of superpowers by another route, or build a more robotics-based hero instead. Aliens can range from passable-as-human to totally bizarre. They're comparable in power to Mutants, but sounds like they may not fit the theme of the game. There's also a Mutant Animals class, which is pretty underpowered compared to the others. Depending on your choices, you can seem like a total animal (hands and bipedal legs not mandatory!), or look essentially like a human who happens to be "rat-faced" or whatever.
Wow, lots of love for HU here. I think a HU game would be awesome, but I don't think I would be able to play on Thursdays. Perhaps I could start my own game for HU. Too bad there aren't any CSS forms for Palladiums sheets.
Greetings, Thanks for the many replies. This game is in fact a Palladium game. If you don't like Palladium then sorry to say I will not be your GM. As I stated in the original post, the game WILL be based loosely off of the X-Men Academy. This will offer a familiar backdrop that pretty much everyone has some sort of idea about. Yes everyone will be a high school teen... Either a Junior or Senior. Yes everyone will be a Hunan Mutant. More info to follow... but if the info in this post doesn't appeal to you then I'm sorry to say I probably won't be your GM. Oh one more thing, on a side note I'm a conservative GM, I'm not looking for people that are power hungry, even though this is a super hero game I'm a realist. if your into super heroes and good story lines then this will be a good fit. Again, thanks for the replies and feed back. if your serious about joining, and like the Palladium system send me a PM
