[LFP] [5e] [Out of the Abyss] [Free] Sunday 7:30-11:30PM EST

I am a DM looking for one additional player to join an existing group for weekly sessions playing the Out of the Abyss module, Sundays from 7:30-11:30pm EST. About Us: Our group (currently 5 including myself) originated from a local board gaming meetup and began playing 5e in person about two years ago. Most of us are local to the greater Annapolis, MD area, and when the pandemic hit we moved our sessions online and added two new players we found through the forums before starting this campaign .  We recently lost one member due to some unfortunate real life circumstances and are looking to replace them to keep a consistent group size. We enjoy a mix of role-play, hack and slash, problem solving, and general shenanigans. I will be acting as DM for this adventure, though we sometimes rotate in one-shots or other short adventures to be able to play around peoples schedule conflicts.  I have been playing D&D, Pathfinder, and a few other systems for the last 3 years and have been DM'ing regularly for the last year and a half.  My goal is to make sure that the players get to enjoy making the adventure their own and I look for opportunities to adjust campaigns to fit the model of play that the group enjoys.  The Campaign: We are playing the Out of the Abyss adventure module, which I have not run before. There will be expansions, additions, and improvisations to exactly how it goes, mostly because I really enjoy the process of making a story our own. We started this campaign off with a couple of months worth of improvised content just to make sure that the group was all on the same page and only recently moved on to the source material a few weeks ago.  The party is currently level 2, and the adventure is just getting started.  There are session recaps available for everything that has taken place up until now, so bringing someone new up to speed should be pretty easy, but honestly no real background is necessary.  We can work on developing a character/background that will be able to join into the campaign pretty easily or there are a number of NPCs already with the party that could be reworked and made into playable characters. Explore the Underdark: a subterranean wonderland, a vast and twisted labyrinth where fear reigns. Schedule: We play once per week, Sunday from 7:30-11:30ish PM EST. Sessions are informal and we take breaks as needed, but do our best to keep the game moving to make the most of our time. I have no idea how long this particular campaign will take, but would guess 9 months to a year+. As of this posting our next session is scheduled to continue tonight. Rules and Expectations: We will be using Google Meet for voice and video chat.  If you want to join this group we expect to get to know a bit about you, as we are friends first and D&D players second.  We chat and catch up for a few minutes at the start of each session and then get into the game. I am not going to go into a lot of detail about rules.  Be a decent person.  Don't discriminate against anyone.  Be able to take a joke, but feel free to speak up if something crosses a line. Understand that fitting well into the existing group dynamic will be an important factor in determining if get to join/play with us. Players of any level of experience are welcome. Our current players range from less than a year of experience to multiple years in multiple systems. Most likely no homebrew content will be allowed for character creation.  Generally speaking I am open to any of the official WotC content, but check before you plan on doing anything unusual. Most of us use Dndbeyond for character creation as I am able to share most of the source content there for everyone and then use Beyond20 to roll. We ask that you commit to the group and the game.  We totally understand that life happens, and we all cancel occasionally but we like to try to meet and play on a regular basis. Application: If you are interested, please fill out the following either via roll20 private message or as a reply in this thread. We will do our best to look at the people that want to join and let you know as quickly as possible if we have a slot for you. Name: Pronouns: Age: D&D and Roleplaying Experience: What are your other interests besides D&D: Why do you want to join our game? Please give me a list of topics that are Triggers/Off Limits: Please take 34 points and distribute them among the categories below. No more than 10 points may go into a single category. 1.       Roleplay Interaction (I want to RP, get into character, and explore my PC’s backstory)   2.       Exploration (I want to go to new places and play with the environments we will be encountering.)   3.       Investigation (I love solving mysteries, and getting involved with exciting social/political aspects of the world.)   4.       Fighting (I enjoy combat and enjoy it, especially when it is dramatic, or I can be tactical within it.)   5.       Problem Solving (I love to make plans, and overcome obstacles.  I love trying to solve a puzzle, or work out what the villain is thinking)   6.       Storytelling (I want to make major decisions and help shape the plot)
Hello! I hope i will be a good fit for your group and would enjoy playing.  Name: Anthony Pronouns: he/him Age: 18 D&D and Roleplaying Experience: mainly just dnd with friends, with some call of Cthulhu. I understand mechanics but am in no means an expert What are your other interests besides D&D: I enjoy hiking, biking, and video games such as Minecraft and Hearts of Iron IV. Why do you want to join our game? One of my friends is unable to play for a few months and i would like another game to play while we postpone ours. I find the time that you will be playing to be good, and you seem like an enjoyable group of people to be around. Please give me a list of topics that are Triggers/Off Limits: I would prefer not to have graphic depictions of gore, but I don't really have a problem with much else. 1: roleplay 7 2: Exploration 4 3:investigation 5 4:fighting 6 5:problem solving 6 6:Storytelling 6
