The sheet used for Numenera has a section for Skills, Attacks, and Special Abilities. Skills and Attacks both have quick roll buttons that allow you make rolls using all the various effort/asset/skill training modifiers, and also the link so you can deduct points from pools using the API. The Skills section does not include a cost for skill use, since skills don't have costs. But they do have a roll button. Special Abilities do have costs... but there's no roll button!? So using a Special Ability against a leveled target doesn't have a quick roll. My best guess is to move some Special Abilities to Attacks, even though they aren't Attacks. Charm Machine, for instance, costs 2 intellect points and lets the user attempt to charm an unintelligent machine into liking them. If listed in Special Abilities, there's no way to roll this against a target directly. So it seems like we're meant to list that as an attack even though the skill doesn't do any damage and doesn't feel like it should exist under an Attacks heading. For one of my players, this results in her feeling like she needs to list duplicate information, having things like Scan appear under Special Abilities and Attacks. Is there anyone around to petition for the addition of a roll button on the official Cypher System sheet that applies to Special Abilities? I understand that it is quite possible to just roll things out the old fashioned way, this isn't really a dealbreaker, but I'm trying to make things a little easier on my players. I also understand that I could just head to github, grab the files and make one myself, but it feels like this issue is something else other groups may have bumped into as well.
