CURRENT ENTRANT LIST- https://docs.zoho.com/file/egrja859596240f504b16b6... Now that the 7 th edition of Warhammer 40K has
launched, what better way to test out the new rules than with a tournament?
I will be running a Warhammer 40k 7 th edition Tournament, opening
registration now and starting the matches the weekend of the 11 th of
July If you don't have the current rules, that's no problem. I could hook you up with a PDF copy. New to 40k? if you can learn a system in 4 weeks, no problem!
All matches will be played on roll20 using a full token set
that has been put together. It’s pretty intuitive, and almost identical to
playing the tabletop.
The following restrictions would be in place-
1500 Points
No Unbound Lists (Battleforged only)
Single force organization chart
Lords of War are Prohibited
All sourcebooks must be up to date (no Chapter Approved, or any similarly
outdated source)
No Horus-Heresy era lists. They scale bizarrely and use different force
organization charts.
If you want to try something strange or think your list might cause problems or
be of questionable makeup, feel free to send it to me.
One exception is made for Ork players, due to their upcoming
codex. Ork players would be able to enter lists either using their old 4 th
edition codex or their new 7 th edition codex.
If you want to sign up, reply to this thread/the Dakkadakka
thread/Any other recruitment post I put somewhere (I’m not sure where to
advertise). Lists would need to be sent to me at least 24 hours before the
tournament started, and factions would need to be chosen by 5 days before the
tournament. (I would have to set up the tournament to prevent mirror matches, which are confusing with identical models)
For the actual logistics of the tournament, read on.
Registration would be on a first come first serve basis, but the tournament
would have use for leftover players (replacing no-shows) and the tournament will
be expanded to fit more people every time we get a new power of 2 players. The tournament itself would be standard single elimination
with each level of the bracket being a specific Eternal War mission
(Ex- Everyone’s first game would be Crusade, everyone left
would play Purge the Alien for their second game, the winners would play The
Emperor’s will, so on so forth)
There would be deadlines for each level of the tournament
(each approximately one week) during which you would have to have played your
designated opponent to advance. If your opponent doesn't show, we either grab
someone from the player overflow pool and you play them instead, or if the pool
does not exist, you automatically advance. No-one will be able to automatically
advance more than once however.
Skype and the actual tables-
The games are played on a series of digital tables that require both players to
be GM’d. We have a large quantity of cloned tables, but it requires that you
join the table before hand.
We currently use a Skype group chat for 99% of communication in and out of the
game, so that would be preferred (My Skype username is ‘buzzgob’, add me and I’ll
add you to the group) feel free to join the group early to a get a hang for the
system, or to just have a practice match or two!
And for those curious as to what the games look like, the
sprites can be found by searching vassal40k Hope to see plenty of people in this tournament!
