Warhammer 40k Tournament-Opening Recruitment

CURRENT ENTRANT LIST- https://docs.zoho.com/file/egrja859596240f504b16b6... Now that the 7 th edition of Warhammer 40K has launched, what better way to test out the new rules than with a tournament? I will be running a Warhammer 40k 7 th edition Tournament, opening registration now and starting the matches the weekend of the 11 th of July If you don't have the current rules, that's no problem. I could hook you up with a PDF copy. New to 40k? if you can learn a system in 4 weeks, no problem! All matches will be played on roll20 using a full token set that has been put together. It’s pretty intuitive, and almost identical to playing the tabletop. The following restrictions would be in place- 1500 Points No Unbound Lists (Battleforged only) Single force organization chart Lords of War are Prohibited All sourcebooks must be up to date (no Chapter Approved, or any similarly outdated source) No Horus-Heresy era lists. They scale bizarrely and use different force organization charts. If you want to try something strange or think your list might cause problems or be of questionable makeup, feel free to send it to me. One exception is made for Ork players, due to their upcoming codex. Ork players would be able to enter lists either using their old 4 th edition codex or their new 7 th edition codex. If you want to sign up, reply to this thread/the Dakkadakka thread/Any other recruitment post I put somewhere (I’m not sure where to advertise). Lists would need to be sent to me at least 24 hours before the tournament started, and factions would need to be chosen by 5 days before the tournament. (I would have to set up the tournament to prevent mirror matches, which are confusing with identical models) For the actual logistics of the tournament, read on. Registration would be on a first come first serve basis, but the tournament would have use for leftover players (replacing no-shows) and the tournament will be expanded to fit more people every time we get a new power of 2 players. The tournament itself would be standard single elimination with each level of the bracket being a specific Eternal War mission (Ex- Everyone’s first game would be Crusade, everyone left would play Purge the Alien for their second game, the winners would play The Emperor’s will, so on so forth) There would be deadlines for each level of the tournament (each approximately one week) during which you would have to have played your designated opponent to advance. If your opponent doesn't show, we either grab someone from the player overflow pool and you play them instead, or if the pool does not exist, you automatically advance. No-one will be able to automatically advance more than once however. Skype and the actual tables- The games are played on a series of digital tables that require both players to be GM’d. We have a large quantity of cloned tables, but it requires that you join the table before hand. We currently use a Skype group chat for 99% of communication in and out of the game, so that would be preferred (My Skype username is ‘buzzgob’, add me and I’ll add you to the group) feel free to join the group early to a get a hang for the system, or to just have a practice match or two! And for those curious as to what the games look like, the sprites can be found by searching vassal40k Hope to see plenty of people in this tournament!
The Guard shall be present in this tournament, by the Emperor's Will!
Count me as participating, i need to revamp my lists though.

Testicular fortitude is at maximum efficiency.
Count me in! Might need that PDF however, I am saveing my pennies to upgrade from 6th.
I'll also need the PDF, but the Skulls of Yorrek shall join you.
This sounds like a lot of fun I will be there, but I will need the PDF until I can get the rule book.
I'll join in, tho I'd prefere too play on some kind of CET-friendly hours. Tho I have too say that I haven't played single FOC in just about forever!
I would love to join in to this tournament, however i would like to know if this is going to be CET friendly.
I'm a newb but anxious to bring my boyz to play! Hummies gunna bleed!
Mirthless, Alexander, the matches would be scheduled between you and your opponent with a one week timespan, so you should be able to play each other at some point. alternatively, I could match Europeans with other Europeans. the group communicates mostly via skype, and you can find me on that pretty easily (my username is 'buzzgob')
I'm a total noob, but I'm excited to let my 'cron flex their muscles.
I'm game! I play Space Marines, and I'm in the CST.

And Here is the more-accurate and useful tournament registration list https://docs.zoho.com/file/egrja859596240f504b16b6... Once we get to 16 people we form a wait list, if that wait list gets to 16 as well, we instead do a 32 person tournament, and start another wait list with a maximum of 32 people, and so on. Remember, unless you absolutely hate skype with a passion, you should probably join the group chat, play a game before the tournament starts to learn the system
Tell you what, I think I'm going to be able to partake in this most joyous of tournaments, even if I do end up getting my but kicked I shall join. Now, don't charge my Tau because those stories about Tau being unable to fight in melee? Yeah, well, there lies! Good luck everyone

If there's still room I'd like to join, I can learn quickly. I will be playing imperial guard. Also would the times be flexible due to the duels?
Foodwrap- yes, there would be a 1-week period for each stage of the tournament. And reminder, adding me on Skype so I can add you to the tables is something everyone should get around to doing.
Id like to join in on this band of terror and pure destruction. But sadly i to have not played seen grey knights can into the warp in 6th ed so if i can get a Pdf the emperors children would be most grateful to you i'll send u my skype vea pm. And may you all..... know only..... WAR!
When you say 1 force org chart does that allow an allied detachment or just the primary force?
Scott R. said: When you say 1 force org chart does that allow an allied detachment or just the primary force? Single Force Organization chart means you may have a single Primary Detachment and a single Allied Detachment.
And now that it's out, I have the ork Codex for anyone that wants it.
Only 10 days until the tournament starts, and I only have 4 lists. Other 12 people, get ready. Again, if people need help writing lists, feel free to ask for advice.
Would I be able to receive the rulebook and codices? I doubt there is enough time to get comfortable with the system before this tournament, but it would be nice to get a head start on the next one maybe? Also will there be room to spectate?
Room to spectate? There is no limit on spectators. And ill send you the codices.
Hi there. I've just heard about this tournament, is it too late to sign up my dark eldar? If not, no worries, and I hope the tournament goes well
It's not too late, still a couple more days left. I'll be sending last-minute reminders to people tomorrow.
That's great. How do I go about registering?
You Pm me with an army list. Then i put you on the list. and i mark you down as entered. Adding me on skype is also needed, as i would hate to have to manage 16+ people on roll20's chat system.
Sorry for the delay, but is it too late to join with an Imperial Guard army?
Nope, the deadline is sunday.
Alright, due to an unforeseen delay on my part, the FINAL DEADLINE is MONDAY THE 14TH at NOON (CHICAGO TIME) All army lists need to be sent to me by then. As of now, I believe the registration table to be correct. If you don't have an entry # next to your name, you aren't in the tournament. Remember, you will eventually need to add me on skype to join the tables.
http://challonge.com/tournaments/bracket_generator... TOURNAMENT BRACKET HAS BEEN POSTED 13 person single elimination, so 3 people were given round 1 buy-ins randomly Each match has one week to be scheduled and occur. So everyone should be on the second round of the tournament match wise by 7/22/14. Since we have 13, if people jump in (up to 3) in the first round, people who were given Buy-ins may lose them. Have fun everybody!
Everyone's lists, compiled https://docs.zoho.com/file/n9y9p8ec0314aab0f429e9d54d6dc998b637d
hey i can be the ringer if you still need an even number of players. I'm new to the website but I have lots of warhammer 40k experience.
Hi there. Just wondering if the first round results are in, or if I should be looking else where. Don't want to end up missing my match on round 2
A semi related question: Is there a link to the token set you are using for this? Paid or otherwise. I've been looking for solid 40k tokens for Roll20 and your's sounds promising.
