Players are stating my game is much slower compared to other roll20 games.

Hey there, i have two players that play with me on Sundays. They are both in the same place and both have said that their Saturday night game is much faster than our Sunday game. my other plays do notice its a bit slow Here's what I know. Saturday night dm is a free dm. no modules or maps or subscriptions. they use the in browser voice and have a bunch of imported maps Im currently on the plus subscription and i like to use dynamic lighting, but since they have stated whats happening i havent been using it at all. I have a bunch of purchase maps and tokens. I also have some imported maps. from what they both have told me, it takes about a minute longer for them to join my game, and for maps to load in. Any help would be appreciated

There are some articles on the wiki about this sort of thing. Basically, the more maps, characters, attributes on character sheets (and spells usually create a lot of them for each entry), the larger the map, the more dynamic lighting lines and light sources there are to render, the longer things will take to load. https://wiki.roll20.net/Optimizing_Roll20_Performance https://wiki.roll20.net/Best_Practices_for_Files_on_Roll20 Those would probably be the places to start.
right, and ive deleted tons of maps and have stopped doing dynamic lighting in order to help the issue, but it doesnt seem to be working. should i just make a new game room and port over my players sheets?

It might be worth a test. Without really knowing a lot of details, like the number of characters, how "filled up" they are, etc. It's hard to guess at the reasons.
ive got 4, a barbarian, cleric, monk and artifcer. its the monk and artificer that are having the problems. but ill give the new game a shot see what happens

When I said "number of characters" I meant for the entire game, not just PCs. Number of character journals, their complexity and number of spells on each can affect performance and load times. I'd suggest starting a new game and moving the characters over, even if only for a test. If it's faster, just migrate. If it's not, it could be a hardware/browser issue. Disable any extensions that might be modifying the Roll20 engine, if you are using any.
