npcs keep rolling to gm whisper

All of a sudden all my npcs roll advantage and whisper to me ( the gm) I have changed the game settings to advantage toggle, whisper toggle, i have made sure the npcs were on normal for roll and were toggled to advantage toggle and whisper toggle. I have tried this both in chrome and firefox. I have tried closing brower and restarting, i have tried restarting pc. I am using d&d 5e by roll20.also after making changes in game setting and trying to leave i get a pop up that says leave site? changes you made may not have been saved, but yet it says settings saved succesfully I am at a loss. any help would be great

Have you clicked the button at the bottom of the in-game settings to "Apply Default Settings"?  Otherwise, the default setting will only apply to new sheets created in game.
