Brand New Player, feeling a tad intimidated.

I have been playing an Urban Arcana game with a couple friends and it's just not quite scratching the itch anymore, I want to play more but I have no experience, my account here is mere minutes old, and the Looking for Group page is more than a little scary. I'm hoping someone will reach out and show me the ropes a little bit.
I would be willing to show you around roll20, I can also teach you pathfinder if you want.
That would be awesome! I should probably grab some books then, which ones will I need?
Also if you're interested I can teach you savage worlds, it only taker one book and quick to learn. Roll 20 can be intimidating but there's a great community here.
That would be great! I'm feeling a lot better already. Thanks a lot.
Howdy Dan, and welcome to Roll20! As you've seen, there are plenty of friendly people here willing to help you learn to enjoy our favorite hobby, RPGs! You're not the first one with these questions, and you won't be the last. Gamers are a little bit like that guy who just discovered something he thinks is awesome: we'd LOVE the chance to sit you down and show off what we know, that's how you make new gamers! As far as Pathfinder (possibly the most popular single game on Roll20) goes, pretty much all you need book-wise is right here: All the Pathfinder rules, online, for free! I've played with Belenus before in one of his Paranoia games, I think... he'll be a good guide to how R20 works. If you've got any other questions, just post, someone'll answer! And remember... have fun! -Phnord
So far, this is quite literally the best experience I've had on the internet. Thank you so much! I'm extremely excited to get started.

Hello Dan. Just to jump on the band wagon here and repeat what everyone else has said "Hi" If you don't have the pathfinder books, it is ok. Phnord gave the link to the Pathfinder rules that are OGL (open gaming licence) which means they are free to use. There is many games that have that type of rules, Have fun and enjoy.
What times/ days are you usually free for gaming man?
DMbobby. said: What times/ days are you usually free for gaming man? I'm unemployed as of this moment, but I have an interview at a bank so anytime after 8pm EST would probably work, pretty much any day, with the exception of today.

I don't have anything running, but I'm never opposed to putting together a demo of something to help you and any other new players (or just people new to a game) learn the ropes. If you're still looking for other games to try, drop me a line and I'll see what I can do.
