They select their best sneaky people to do the reconnaissance; Iktomi and Lady Paper The ship is moored at the end of Market Street. Kismet, Paladin, Constable, and Bear watch the roof of a nearby warehouse that is across the street from the customs office. Iktomi climbs up the aft of the ship to slip in unnoticed while Lady Dragon sneaks aboard midship. There are two men carrying lanterns patrolling the deck, dim light can also be seen filtering through the windows of the captain’s quarters. Lady Paper moves towards the aft, using her invisibility when stationary, as best she can. It is a fluke but the aft-most patrolman spots something but he is not sure what. He calls to his mate and they converge where he thinks he saw…something. Before they find her Iktomi comes up behind the aft patrolman but the fore patrolman spotted him. He calls out giving the other patrol man a chance to see Iktomi. He screamed but Iktomi silenced him (by KO) quickly. Lady Paper stuck a gooey page to the fore patrolman leaving him blind but he was able to scream…and scream he did. He sounded the alarm for three seconds before Lady Paper was able to silence him (also by KO). With the alarm sounded the rest of the team moved in. Bear grabbed Constable and leapt to the ship landing on, and going through, the lattice work hold hatch putting both of them in the cargo hold. Kismet grabbed Paladin and teleported them to the deck but she missed her mark. They landed in the water on the far side of the shore. Paladin swam to the ship can climbed aboard. When the captain exited his cabin to investigate the alarm Paladin knocked him out before the captain was able to fire a shot. Constable investigated a door under the forecastle and found a man standing between him and the unconscious form of Thomas Paine. Kismet teleported through a porthole and joined Bear and Constable in the fight with the alien Demorean. In the chaos that followed Kismet used her mental powers on the Demorean then Bear grabbed him but when the Demorean was rendered unconscious he vanished. Kismet vouched that he was gone from the earth, the time stream, or whatever. The Demorean was just…gone. After Kismet used her mental powers on him the hive mind network vanished, at least as far as 1776 was concerned. The team considered that a victory as it put them on the same level as The Brooklyn Brigadiers. They took the unconscious Paine back to the inn and tried to wake him up. Paine would not come to, Paladin theorized it was he was being impersonated by another Demorean. Kismet tried several tricks to try to sever the connection between Paine and the Demorean but was unable to wake him up. Constable need to get some rest so he and Iktomi stay to watch over Thomas Paine   6:05 AM Kismet, Paladin, Lady Paper, and Bear go to the Pennsylvania Magazine print shop. They enter and under Paladin’s direction the group was able to find a secret cabinet where hundreds of the pro-communist pamphlets are waiting to be distributed. Paladin and Bear wait here while Kismet (using teleportation) takes Lady Paper back to Constable so he can read this pamphlet and compare it to the original that he memorized in the future. Constable says he need to get a full boat of rest because with history hanging in the balance he can not afford to make a mistake. At the magazine Paladin and Bear knock out the print shop assistants. When ‘Thomas Paine’ arrives he walks in and yells for the assistants but before he truly realizes what is going on Bear and Paladin knock him out. Like the Demorean on the Honor Bound he reverts to his natural appearance and vanishes. The moment he disappears the real Thomas Paine wakes.   End of Session.
