Can we get an LFG forum that isn't literally worthless? Add tags and a real filter/sort system

The search function is garbage since you can't sort by time. There's no tags so you can't filter by game system, time zone, time slot. You can't filter out paid games. You can't look at posts that are only LFP or only LFG. Like, the LFG forum is the absolute worst I've ever seen anywhere. It has absolutely 0 functionality and usability besides constantly watching it and hoping something shows up as you're looking.

You can select the game system in the "playing any of these games" box at the top.  If you enable the advanced filters, you can filter by day of the week, time of day, language, etc. Not saying that there can't be more, but there might be more filters available than you have been using.
OP is referring to the Looking for Group forum, not the game finder thingy. All of the forum system needs an overhaul. A reasonably modern search function that would at least return results in descending date order is really the bare minimum.  And paid game spam has taken up 70% of the forum since the pandemic hit.  There should be a filter or a sub forum for it.

Yes, please make a check box to see paid games or not (and save the setting for users).
I think some useful filters might be-- Game System Number of players needed (for GMs). Paid or Free Looking for Players / Looking for GMs. Date or Day of the Week One shot or Campaign. Novice or Experienced Player or GM I think at a bare minimum, it should show the Title of the Post in the left column and RPG Game System in a separate column. Alternatively, leave as is but include a built-in drop down Search function (similar to LFG Tool), whereby results appear as they do now but one can search if they wish based on different attributes. In this case, a "show all relevant posts since x date" would be handy to avoid old/non-current posts. Presently there is a Search function based on keywords. Another "rule" that can be implemented is where if a GM advertises for a particular game, they cannot bump that game up the list until after X number of days. On certain play-by-post rpg sites, it used to be that some people would reply multiple times a day causing their advert to repeatedly hit the top of the list, thereby obscuring newer advertisements that got buried -- so site owners implemented a no bumping for 7 days rule. (This does not apply if a legitimate prospective player posts a reply to the advert, in which case the GM can reply).
