Old school Tuesdays- Ist and Advanced Dungeons and Dragons

The tales of Nac. Being a gnome, one would think u to be a wiz at the art of invention. However, some gnomes do not have the chops to invent, leaving them useless to gnome society. Nacelbe Dumbursen was that kind of Gnome. Throughout Nac's schooling, many tragedies followed him every time the Gnome tried his hand at invention. It was not long before the Gnome colleges' schools banned Nac for showing up within 2,000 miles of any building owned by the university. Of course, the college's reason was Nac destroys every building in which he tries his inventions. Kicked out of every school Nac attended left the Gnome without certification to build his design. For the next 3 years, Nac did meaningless manual labor. Even then, Nac would screw up on the job causing destruction to many of the towns he worked in. In time Nac began to recognize towns would put up notices forbidding Nac from entry into them. On his last copper, Nac heard of a job located far away from civilization. In the local Cryer, Nac read a wanted ad stating that the wizard's tower needed someone to watch their invention. All the employee had to do was write a number flashed on the machine. When this number got over 500, the employee needed to turn a screw releasing the machine's pressure. In the following weeks, Nac surprisingly did as he was told. Soon the Gnome felt comfortable at his job, eventually falling asleep while watching the machine. One night as Nac slept on his bedroll, instead of watching the device, the number indicated 678. When Nac's lazy ass finally woke up, the machine had reached 1200, causing its containers to burn through the 12 inches of mithril. Nac, dumbfounded, rushed to do anything, but the only thing Nac could think of was to turn the screw. Weak as a child, Nac didn't have the strength to even move the screw one inch. Still, the machine boiled over, spewing green fog into the immediate area. Fate has a strange way of making itself known in the case of stupidity. When the gas hit Nac's skin, he became a huge Red and Black multi-armed aberration. Without pause and somehow still in control of his mind Nac the terrible grabbed the screw and turned it till the thing flew from the machine. The number shot down to -12,300. Within the glow of the devices, icy fields, a dimensional gate appeared with the world of 5 th edition Dungeons and Dragons. This gate's destination made it clear that those who entered it would be changed to fit the place's time-traveled. Those who had 5 th edition characters would now be transformed into First edition characters. Nac knew he was to blame for the gate, so the monster he became r took the machine's frozen core, wrote an apology note, and dove through the gate. The next day the wizards arrived to do maintenance on their machine. When they saw what happened, the wizards immediately looked for Nac, the last employee on shift that night. Nac was nowhere to be seen, but the wizards did discover his apology note. Knowing if the core of their machine got into the hands of evil would mean an invasion into their world. Appearing in the sky right above the gate appeared a map that flashed pictures; when touched,   a thin paper book appeared falling to the ground. Deckin, the first wizard to read one of these books, spoke out loud what he had learned. "The first page of the book   Says                                      Pharoah                          By Tracy and Laura Hickman. Probability of finding the artifact you had taken 32%.     Other wizards soon joined Deckin looking at the many other books that appeared behind the gate. Variates of hidden treasure, people suffering under tyrannical rule, and unexplored lands contained many magical mysteries. In haste, the wizards posted a Job, posting they needed 2 to 10 hardy adventures to go look for their stolen machines, core. The ad also stated that the wizards had the rare occasion to tender friendship with these lands' people by doing the adventure within each module. Lastly, the ad noted that the wizards also needed adventurers unafraid to go back in time and explore the past worlds. Within these worlds, the wizards would employ those that could find the artifacts of the past flora and fauna lost to extinction. Oooh Fun! I can't, because I'm already playing in AD&D 2nd Edition on Tuesday nights at the same time slot. Otherwise I would look into applying. That list of modules would be very fun to play!
