Every Token Deletes When I Drop It from the Compendium

So I think my game was set to create characters as PCs. Every time I dropped monsters from the compendium, it deleted the tokens, converted them into PCs, replaced the tokens with generic silhouettes. I pretty much ruined the most iconic creatures from my 5e Monster Manual before I figured out what was going on. Can I fix this? Do I have to go through and recreate every monster I ruined?

A couple of things to check: Are you using a third party extension? Try without that installed (Just open the game in a private browsing window). Are you waiting for the character sheet window to resolve before closing it after  compendium drag? To drag in a fresh, unaltered copy of any monster, delete any copies of it that already exist in your jurnals folder.

I don't think there's a 3rd party extension. Things are chugging along slowly, so that may have something to do with me closing the sheets too soon.  I will try deleting the copies in the journals folder. Thanks.
