Game Synopsis: Things are changing in Lateia. One of Saltwatch's great Circle of Five is said to have been assassinated... permanently. Highly intelligent and monstrous creatures have become more and more common on the continent of Udrera. Anti-magic revolutionaries have performed a coup on the previously neutral Crossroads. And now you find yourself in the sea-soaked city of Mesamoor, a pirate capital of the riverlands. Things are going very, very wrong and everything is pointing to the mysterious Assembly being behind it all. Game Update: This game has been running for about 9 months and was part of a pandemic game. Due to a lot of players taking on new work we've had to change the time and so we are starting almost brand new. That said, the world and plot have had many developments which will continue to exist. Also good to know that this is a long-term campaign which used the base premise from Numenera's The Devil's Spine. The setting is homebrewed, many of the rules are homebrewed, and outside of the initial premise, the story is heavily driven by the characters, their backstories, and their goals. Sessions are around 4 hours. Ideal Player: Shares my passion for character acting and RP. I want someone who stays in character during session with minimal OOC interactions and feels comfortable reacting on the spot. I'm totally fine with new players, I just want them excited to play and interested in immersion. Low drama. I want someone who isn't going to rule lawyer, steal the show, or start silly arguments. I think D&D is awesome when players can get along outside of the game and love an active discord server among players. I also like players who understand that this is a homebrew game and rules will definitely not be RAW all the time. That said, feel free to push back if you disagree on a call if I've gotten it wrong. Just know that I will make the final ruling and I expect players to roll with that so we don't slow down the game to much. Creative. I will do my absolute best to give you as much creative freedom as you choose. Choose any race, any class, any alignment that you think are cool. Something doesn't exist? Homebrew it and run it by me. You will be active in worldbuilding creating your characters home, local customs, religions, etc. My job will be to facilitate your story. Me as a DM: I've been playing D&D for around 2 and half years, and DMing around 9 months. I appreciate feedback and love hearing from my players about what they want for their characters, what they think can be improved in the game, and what types of encounters they like and don't like. That said, if you've pushed back once and I've made a final ruling, I expect it to be followed for the remainder of the session. I'll be more than willing to discuss the issue after session (or just shoot me a private message) High immersion. I will try to use vivid descriptions and provide audio/imagery where I'm able to keep everyone immersed. I will also strive to keep each NPC believable with individual motivations and ideals. Additionally, there will be limited 'skipping the boring bits'. You want to a horse, you will have to chat with the stablemaster. You want to get from point A to B, you will be travelling there. A Limited Sandbox. This is my world, but your story. As characters, you are free to make whatever decision you'd like (whether its skipping a town or choosing to avoid that big creepy thing in the corner). I will provide plenty of plot hooks and I will definitely have a cohesive story in mind (with clear directional markers haha), but it will never take away from your character's choice. Believable characters. Each NPC and especially each PC should be believable as characters. You should have your own set of motivations and ideals. Hey, I might even try and throw in some character voices, though lord knows I'm no voice actor. Some game rules and character creation items: Be respectful and friendly. Show up on time. Don't miss sessions without a warning. No Forever Alone characters Characters are currently at level 6 All characters will have background story chats with me via discord prior to the first session Point by or rolling for stats Level 1 feat and up to a rare magic item (that can mean 3 common, 2 common and 1 uncommon, or 1 rare. However you would like to configure it. I'm happy to chat more) Homebrew is totally acceptable and I'm not afraid "overpowered" characters. We just need to make sure your power level aligns with the rest of the party. There will be encounters that far outstrip your characters' abilities. Prepare a backup character and become ok with running away or parlay Video is optional Voice via discord Thank you for your interest! Looking forward to hearing from you.
