Page 31. "I can't even begin to describe the horrors of my journey that have continued up until this point. I've been to this forsaken place already more times then any other person or creature alive. I've witnessed other adventurers succumb to the terrors that this place houses. For the life of me, I know I'm flawed and experience emotions my kind normally shouldn't! But I'm smart enough to know when we decided to head back to the mouth of doom! I should have left this group to their demise. I've seen creatures more powerful then the strongest companions I have accompanied simply tear through them like they were...well....alive. There's truly not much that could have given me much reason to dive back into that hell hole. During the travels it was just like before; they were all so happy and eager! Some of them had even been to the pit before, and yet they were still so excited as if there was nothing inside of it that could bring harm to them. I know better, I knew damn well that this place was nothing to be excited about! It would sooner consume us before letting us have any of the treasures it kept that continued to draw the brave and foolish. It was nice having someone to talk to, though, that didn't draw attention to my kind and they were rather pleasant. It's a shame. I had to ruin that cheerful mood of the one who stayed with me on the night watch, but I won't let optimism be an insidious killer of us when we get there. But.....To my surprise they all fought valiantly.....It's no excuse for us exploring the uncharted when so many ways were paved before us to die in the dark. We kept exploring even when the wall started to bleed horrors, and the ones who stayed in the room I can only imagine must have thinned the hive of them in the wall. We never brought it up again, and the shambling monstrosity of bones and malice tried to corner us was kept at bay by a creature, my kind is familiar with, but I had no idea they could have been used like that. Usually we just eat the raptors! We continued to push on. They were an odd bunch of companions, but I dare to say they were also the best. They didn't antagonize a creature hiding in the darkness of a kitchen, or decide to kick in a door that had so many warnings to leave that room alone. I really didn't think that one through too much. It wasn't until the fire serpents that I actually realized these companions weren't out to just make a name for themselves, and they actually cared for the other members. I saw them turning into creatures of the wild, casting other worldly spells and abilities which still baffle my mind. taking a beating which would have been more then enough to kill any normal creature. But the most important reason why I'm even writing this down is that they all survived......We all made it back alive. We all made it back alive....It's a shame that I have to write this to remind me that not everyone is going to die. I truly feel like I've made some friends this time around and just like them.....I'm little more eager to go back. OH! Quick note to me, I've learned something that escapes my mind from time to time. I should get into grave robbing more often because people in this town love it....
