Pacific Standard Time: probably Saturday nights but maybe Friday as alternate Hi there, I'm a long-time 1st ed. DM (gotta love the old school) who the other year made the switch to 5th edition. Besides a several month face to face group to do 5the ed for, I ran maybe 15 sessions so far using Roll20. I'm not a master of the edition nor the Roll20 format, but I have had some success so far. And I've run older edition D&D in general (and other genres) forever. I’d really like to DM this possible campaign for other people who haven’t mastered the edition yet and haven't played so much they are bored of basic classes, so we can all sort of learn together while having easy going fun with the game. If you think that for the first couple games you can have fun with basic DnD tropes (meeting in a tavern, getting in a bar fight, roughing up some goblins for fearful villagers, etc) then you haven't played a huge amount of D&D and would probably be right for these games. This isn't about the DM trying to be an aspiring heavy story screenwriter or for the players to engage in community theater (players can role play as much as they are comfy with). It will kind of be about the basics so we can all sort of learn the edition and Roll20 adventuring together while having fun with the game. I keep the Roll20 stuff fairly simple. Map pages, custom tokens for players to have fun moving around, bit of jukebox here and there for ambiance. Discord for voice and chat. Setting the scene and letting characters romp around in it is a lot of the fun for me. I like to think of it as collaborative story telling. I don't really do sandbox or scripted railroad style, but somewhere in between. I usually use my old home brew setting, a basic dnd world. All the tropes with occasional surprises. I would like to try and stick with the classes and races in players handbook. Maybe using Tashas guide as well. Perfect players would probably be 25 or older (unless you are a truly old soul), and though inexperienced at least own the PHB (or reasonable facsimile) and know how to put together a character on a sheet including abilities, spells, etc. The rest is easy. If this sounds like it might be for you then send me a private message telling me about yourself and your gaming experience. Who knows, a couple of games could turn into a full campaign. Cheers
