[LFP][D&D][5E] Dimension 20 meets Khan Academy (D&D show where the audience learns the game)

Hello adventurers! My name is Brett and I'm assembling a group for a new D&D 5e campaign that, hopefully, will give back to the community in a unique way. I hope to merge the "watch people play D&D" premise with "learn to play D&D." Within the context of our campaign, we'll use graphics and supplements in a similar fashion to the popular Bill Nye educational videos. Roleplaying games have meant a lot to me but I've had many friends leave the community due to anything from shyness to dense rules to gatekeeping and toxic groups. We'll be using a number of resources, for the campaign and project, to embrace all players looking for a positive experience. If you'd be interested in any way, reply here, message me, or PM me on Discord at Brett#6048. Vision for the Project Concept: Dimension 20 meets Khan Academy * A D&D show where you can watch a group’s game * Learn how to play through conversation and graphics (like Bill Nye videos) * Get RP tips through game conversation and interviews with players * All tips will be further available in separate documents available for reference & download What players & the audience can expect : * Friendly, creative content intended to give back to the community * Experienced, flexible DM wishing to co-create with a diverse group * Start with published material & sourcebooks (with guidance on reflavoring mechanics) * Available in closed-caption video and audio formats Goals for the group (and possible show): * Create a space for people to connect * Build positive community (without gatekeeping or toxicity) * Get more people into the hobby (RP and games in general) * Help other people understand D&D, if it's for them , and how to make it work for them
Thanks for your interest! As you can see, priority #1 is about finding the right group. The goal is not just to play a campaign but create a door into TTRPGs for new, existing, or returning players. We can collaborate on the specifics from there, so as a start, please respond with info like the following: Name : Brett Pronouns : he/they Age range : early 30s TTRPG experience : about 10 years, mostly D&D 5e, various others ranging in complexity from Honey Heist to Pathfinder What I want out of a campaign : Stories, characters, memories, and a good experience for everyone What I want out of the project : I want to make RPGs more accessible & welcoming, as I've had friends need to leave groups for both reasons. I also want to put more good into the community and world at large. I have an education background and a love for creativity so thought this might be a neat way to do so! What I want you to know : I love dogs and games of all kinds. I hope to make some custom art for this and make use of playlists, though I've got a negative modifier on any music knowledge. Discord will probably be used to keep in touch and share dorky headcanons  :D

I appreciate everyone's responses and patience. There might be a delay in replies as I came down sick this weekend (on top of grad school finals). I have some behind-the-scenes support coming in to help catch up and develop the project more.

Name : Jonathan (but you can call me Jon) Pronouns : he/him Age range : 20 TTRPG experience : about 6 years. I've played mostly 5e (am in a campaign on Fridays), with some Warhammer 40K What I want out of a campaign : Stories, memories, a personal connection built between characters, and a fleshed out, beautiful narrative world What I want out of the project : I never thought I'd be interested in something like this, but I really am. It's a pay-it-forward type of thing. Having watched Critical Role and all the extra content they produced has helped me get better at the game.  What I want you to know : I am a full-time student in college. I am a huge nerd and love all things about games (it's what I'm studying), Star Wars, D&D, and beyond. Discord is Contro1theChaos#3331 (I made the username when I was 12 and it's stuck since xD)
Thank you for your patience as I catch up! I got a lot more apps than I expected (and so quickly). Please take a look at these two questions from our gameplay survey that all players will be taking. These might be dealbreakers for some folks, or they might have questions, so I can take responses or questions as needed.
