The adventurers inform Falcon and Reidoth of their apparent success. Falcon is glad to hear the Anchorites are likely no more now. Reidoth mentions he will head straight for Neverwinter City to inform the town officials that the Anchorite as well as the goblin problems are dealt with and the woods safer now. Falcon, lets the party hunt for food around the lodge to stock up on. The party considers going back to Havenfall Manor, however Falcon did not have furs readily available for the party to use so they put off going there for now. The Paladin had cursed his old home long ago and the place is constantly at sub freezing temperature, year round inside. The next day the party heads back south to the town of Phandalin. Along the way, about 3 miles out, a lone hungry wolf is encountered and Avery could not try to tame it after failing her Animal Handling check rolling an 8! Initiative rolls are made and Combat Round #01 begins: Farren, tossed a Javelin at the Wolf hitting for 7 piercing damage! Avery, casts the Vicious Mockery spell upon the Wolf, who fails it’s wisdom save rolling a 5 needing ≥ 15! The Wolf suffers 5 psychic damage and is defeated! Now, the party has more food and can save the pelt for curing later! When the party reaches 8 miles out, they encounter a hungry Owlbear now, Initiative rolls are made and Combat Round #01 begins: Dia, casts the Thunderstep spell, which teleports her away from her spot within 10 feet of the Owlbear! The Owlbear rolls a 4 for it’s constitution save, needing a Dice Challenge level of 15 and fails! A loud thunderclap then roars at 160 decibels, which is heard up to 300 ft away, causing 18 damage to the Owlbear!     Farren, swings his Ninjatō at the Owlbear, hitting it for 8 bludgeoning damage! Marcuria, uses her Rage ability then Her Form of the Beast ability to harden her skin into something as hard as a carpace or chitin. She then tries to gauntlet punch the Owlbear but missed! Rolo, just stays put for now! Avery, fires her light crossbow, the  Walloping bolt piercing the Owlbear for 7 damage but fails to knock it prone after it rolls a 20 on a strength check! The Owlbear tries to Claw Marcuria and missed! Feralda, casts the Scorching Ray spell, hitting the Owlbear for 7 fire damage! Roqar, swings the magical +1 Talon sword at the Owlbear, hitting for 12 slashing damage! Juan Denero, pounds the Owlbear with the magical +1 Lightbringer Mace for 6 bludgeoning damage!   2 nd Attacks for Round #01: Marcuria, pounds the Owlbear with a gauntlet punch for 11 bludgeoning damage defeating it! End of Combat!   The next day, the party continues onwards towards Phandelin, at mile 33 the party encounters two redbrand ruffians! These thugs wear studded leather armor with red trimmings and a red hooded cloak. Initiative rolls are made and  Combat Round #01 begins: Rolo, stays put for now. Juan, fires his light crossbow, missing Ruffian #01! Feralda, casts the Burning Hands spell, sending a fan of flames into both Ruffians! Ruffian #01 took half damage of 5 after rolling his Dexterity save of 16 needing ≥ 16, while Ruffian #02 took 10 fire damage, rolling a 12! Dia, casts Tasha’s Hideous Laughter, and a Ruffians fails his Wisdom saving throw of 5 needing ≥ 15! He falls prone to the ground in an uncontrollable fit of laughter! Roqar, tries to intimidate the other  Ruffian but rolls a 6 on the check, failing to do so! Ruffian #02, missed Farren with his shortsword! The Laughing Ruffian, fails his DC 15 wisdom check rolling a 10 so he continues to laugh out loud, while rolling on the ground, his friend’s miss, causing a louder outburst! Marcuria, pounds Ruffian #02 with a gauntlet punch for 5 + 2 rage damage! Avery, casts the Vicious Mockery spell, Ruffian #02 fails his wisdom save rolling a 0! Needing ≥ 15! He takes 5 psychic damage and is defeated! Farren, slashed the laughing Ruffian #01 for 7 damage with the Ninjatō, for 7 damage! Because Ruffian #01was hurt, he rolls a 15 on his wisdom saving throw and finally stops laughing!   2 nd Attack for Round #01 Marcuria, gauntlet punches a Ruffian for 6 damage!   Combat Round #02: Rolo, casts the Fire Bolt cantrip, flaming Ruffian #01 for 12 damage and defeating him! End of Combat!   At Mile 40, the party encounters a band of five hobgoblins! Initiative rolls are made and Combat Round #01 begins: Rolo, casts the Fireball spell  which deals out 35 fire damage to all five hobgoblins because they all failed their Dexterity saving throws! They are all defeated! End of Combat!   It is now Day 3 into the trip back to Phandalin and at the 55 mile mark a group of three undead human skeletons are encountered! Initiative rolls are made and Combat Round #01 begins! Dia, casts the Flaming Sphere spell and has it roll into 2 of the skeletons! They both make their dexterity saving throws reducing fire damage to half of just 2 hit point on each! Farren, fires his long bow, the arrow doing half damage of 5 on Skeleton #03! Marcuria, activates her Rage and Form of the Beast (carapace) ability. She successfully grapples  with advantage thanks to Rage, rolling a 15. Skeleton #03 is shoved  into the flaming sphere dealing 2 damage, defeating the creature! Marcuria also takes 3 fire damage, after failing the dexterity save rolling a 4! Rolo, casts the Fire Bolt cantrip at Skeleton #01 but missed! Juan, swings his magically glowing +1 Lightbringer mace at Skeleton #01 and missed! Skeleton #01, swings it’s short sword, missing Juan! Feralda, casts the Fireball spell at Skeletons #01 & #02, dealing 16 damage to #01 and 31 fire damage to #02, defeating them both! End of Combat!
Juan, was also caught in the Fireball spell and Rolled a 13 dexterity save needing ≥ 16. Normally he would take the full damage. However 5E rules Nerfed things a bit here so that starting at only 2 nd level a caster can ‘Sculpt’ Evocation spells to exclude 1 + the spell’s level, of allies, in which they ‘automatically succeed’ on their saving throws against the spell, taking no damage, instead of the normal half damage on a successful save! So basically a powerful magical shield enveloped Juan prior to the Fireball going off! It just feels the ability is gained far too so though! The party continues onwards with no more encounters and arrive in Phandalin! Once in town, Marcuria changes her magical cloak to a more regal purple and yellow before knocking on the door of the town hall where they visit the Town Master Harbin Wester, who is still afraid to open the door, still fearing a visit by the green and while dragons known to be flying about the realm. The adventurers give Harbin the good news about the eradication of the half-orc Anchorites of Talos and their orc followers. Harbin mentions that a fellow named Don-Jon Raskin, is looking for an escort to the Mountain’s Toe Gold Mine, so that he can evaluate it for the company he works for. The full pay is 100 gold pieces. Don-Jon is staying at the Stonehill Inn. Once at the Inn, the party inquires about Don-Jon and Elsa the barmaid, knocks on his door to let him know folks are inquiring about his escort job. Don-Jon lumbers out through the doorway, asking whom is looking for the job and Marcuria  raises her hand. Don-Jon says, “Ah, a fine young lady, wants to take me for a walk. Whom might you be my lady?” Roqar also raises her hand and walks over by Marcuria. Marcuria, rolls her eyes then says, “ Name's Marcuria. Friends are Juan, Lady Roqar, Avery, Rolo, Farren, Dia and Feralda. Understand you wanted an escort to some gold mine?"   Don-Jon says, "Ah, yes indeed, I'd walk there myself but with the troubles in the region, folks have insisted I get an escort to the mine."   Rolo says, “Is this a one way trip”?   Don-Jon says, “Yes, I will be staying at the mine”.   Feralda says, “The roads are quite populated with bandits and the like”.   Marcuria says, “Yeah, it does get pretty dangerous out there. Just got a question or two to ask. Like, where exactly this mine is...", "We're pretty busy, but might still be able to fit you in."   Don-Jon Raskin says, "Sure do, Marcuria, it's 15 miles north east out of Phandalin”.   "Ah, Ok, if you have something to do, you feel is more important right now, I can wait and just fill my belly with the fine food and beer here."   Rolo asks, “What type of mine is it”?   Don-Jon says, “It’s a god mine sir”.     Marcuria says, "Yeah. The glittery metal that makes the world keep spinning. You know where this mine is, Don-Jon”?   Roqar asks, "Do you have a map of its location”?   Rolo asks, “Is it guarded by anyone”?   Don-Jon says, "That's something we find out by going up there".   Marcuria says, "Doesn't sound too bad. If your money's good, and you're not feeding us a load of baloney, I think we could drop you off there the next time we head out”.   Roqar says, "Not far out of our way".   Don-Jon says, "I have a map to the mine, just not one of the inside of the mine itself.”, “If we leave at sun up, we should get there by sunset”.   Rolo asks, “Is it your mine”?   Marcuria says, "I imagine it will be his soon, Rolo”.   Don-Jon says, "It belonged to my employers”, "I have never actually visited the mine myself before”.   Rolo asks, “Will there be any others traveling with you”?   Marcuria says, "Your employers....I see. Good enough. We have a few little errands to take care of, but we'll definitely head out together at sunup."   Don-Jon asks, "You sure your buddy there, [pointing to juan], will be all freshened up by then”?!   Avery says, "Yeah, he'll be alright. Know just the lady who can help out with that…”   Don-Jon says, "I see”.   The party orders drinks and meals, such as partridge with apricot and a glass of mead.   Rolo buys everyone a round of drinks, for accepting him into the party.   A while later Avery and Juan go over to Sister Garaele’s house to see if she can heal up Juan and she was able to heal 7 + 10 hit points back to him with a Healing Word spell. Well the healing was done, Roqar was outside by the shrine of Tymora praying for more good fortune.   Marcura goes up to Elmar Barthen’s provisions shop to get supplies. She buys furs for the party and a pair of shovels and 3 days worth of iron rations. She then pays the total 44 gold and 15 silver pieces for the goods.   The next morning Don-Jon Raskin and the adventurers set out for the Mountain’s Toe gold mine, Don-jon telling tales of his exploits along the way and when they get to a spot about 5 miles out from the mine they see the following before them:   A low ridge rises to your right, beyond which you see the Sword Mountains scrape the gray sky. But closer in, something is strewn across the rocky ground ninety feet ahead. They are clad in hide armor, and their greataxes and javelins litter the ground around them.  “Well, ain’t that something,” says Don-Jon, pointing at what appear to be six dead orcs. Marcuria says, “Looks like something else hates orcs encroaching too”. Feralda says, “Doesn’t everyone? Even other Orcs”. Marcuria says, “True”. After various wisdom or medicine checks from several party members it is Dia whom, by looking at the skin upon the dead orcs, where it hasn’t decayed yet after about 3 days, revealing what looks to be extreme frostbite and she telss the party. Feralda says, “Some casters do use cold damage”. Marcuria says, “Does sound like frost magic. It’s too nice out here for it to be winter weather”. Feralda says, “Yes, the Sword Coast is temperate, until you get much farther north”. Roqar says, “White dragons do also, right”? Don-Jon says, “Looks like a white dragon saved us from some trouble”. Marcuria says, “…Yeah, Right… The dragon… Better be careful, then”. Rolo says, “I think a dragon would have eaten them”. Marcuria sasy, “Not necessarily. Maybe the Orcs attacked it”, “Then again, would you want the taste of an orc on your tongue”? Feralda says, “Not exactly something you’d want to eat”. Marcuria says, “I’d rather eat stirge excretions myself”. Feralda says, “Too much information”. Roqar says, “Or Half-Orc”. Nothing of value is found upon the dead orcs.   And this ends the gaming session for the day, until next time!   It is now July 14th at 7:00 pm.
