All positions have been filled. Hello there! I am starting a new DND campaign based on a modified version of the existing multiverse found in the official DND 5e materials. I am looking for 2-3 players who are interested in making characters who fit into the story, and then roleplaying them during the game. I don't expect the world out of anyone, but in my opinion when players are speaking as their character in the first person, it feels far more immersive and rewarding. At the bottom of the post I will put some information about the city you will be starting in, so that you get some sense of the locations and you can formulate a character around some aspect of the city. For example, we already have two players; One is a Tiefling Bard who performs at the high-end DoubleShot Cafe in the Silk Knot District, and the other is a Wood Elf Priest who volunteers at the local hospital in Spirit Park whenever she is away from her monastery. I don't want to restrict character creation too much, but I do ask you pick something humanoid. Homebrew races are not out of the question, but will only be allowed if they have documentation I can refer to. If you are interested in playing in this campaign, please read through the information below and start thinking about the character you would like to create. Once you have a character in mind, please complete the following Player Survey so that I can be sure I am providing the type of game you want to play, and I do not touch on any triggers you may have. Feel free to reply to the post with your character idea and your responses, or also putting information I can use to contact you will work as well if you'd rather talk in private. Here is the region map we will be starting in. Here is the map for the city we will begin in, with the districts labeled Egchurch The Egchurch District is the main transportation hub for the city. In the middle lies the Customs Office surrounded by warehouses, with the River Dockyard on one side and the Caravan Sector on the other. If any goods want to enter or leave on a boat or caravan, they must have it checked first by the Customs Office and receive an official release with a seal of approval before departure. This has led to forged documents beginning to appear in the city, much to the contempt of the Customs Officials. Milkbank The Milkbank district is a smaller area of the city generally occupied by the lower-class occupants of the city and travellers trying to save a few silver on an inn. People here are generally friendly, but you need to hold your coinpurse tight. Otherwise you may be pickpocketed by some of the more nimble residents, or have one of the more daring cut your purse and run with as much as they can grab. Ivy Bridge The Ivy Bridge District is where many of those in the Kazaduunian government live and work. The district is tightly controlled, and there is virtually no crime, however this is also virtually no reason to go there unless summoned by one government official or another. The district is a winding mess of various governmental agencies, all with their own individual purpose. The only interesting quality about the district is its excess of uncommon and exotic races, due to them having representation within the government of the city. Silk Knot The Silk Knot District is a high class district mainly comprised of the nobility of the city, as well as wealthy merchants and the occasional retired adventurer. There are high-end shops selling rare and expensive goods, masterful tailors and blacksmiths making beautiful armor and weapons, and world-class restaurants and cafes serving some of the most highly renowned food in the region. If you have the spare coin, you will find whatever you are looking for here. Spirit Park The Spirit Park District is the heart of the city and is occupied by a wide range of nobles, merchants, craftsmen, soldiers, adventurers, and more. This is where most of the inns and taverns can be found in the city, and many of the most exotic shops, making it the most enticing destination for travelers by far. Not only that, but the streets are crowded with performers and stalls selling goods straight off the boats and carts in the Egchurch District. This has led to an increased presence of Customs Officials and town guards, but not even the Shining Protectorate can catch all crime in the city. Priests Reach The Priests Reach District is the main religious sector of Kazaduun. Here lies various places of worship, with many shrines giving offerings to multiple gods, or even the gods in general. While there is a large amount of community religious services in the area, it is also dominated by The Shining Protectorate. This is a sect of the city's army which is entirely fielded by magic users, mainly clerics. The average citizen has nothing to fear from this district, but the criminals of the city do not dare stray close, as few things escape the eyes of the Shining Protectorate within their domain. West District The West District is entirely comprised of the housing areas, training areas, and storage areas for the Kazaduunian Army. Here a new recruit is taught how to live a soldier’s life, and defend the city above all else. There is not much to offer those not enlisted in the ranks, but for those who are there is most anything you could need. However, this does not stop soldiers from walking around the city in their freetime. Wine Valley The Wine Valley District is almost entirely large fields and the various agricultural buildings needed to support the workers. Here you can find honest pay for a hard days work, but it will be a long hard day in the sun. The fields provide bountiful harvests of dozens of different crops for the city, and supply everyone from the inns, to the apothecaries, to the army. You will be welcome here, no matter your creed, or even your history, as long as you behave yourself. Otherwise, you will not last long in the Wine Valley District.
Smoke Street The Smoke Street District is named as such due to the large clouds of smoke generally found in the district’s taverns and cafes. The lax smoking policy is due to the fact that SmokeLeaf and other smokable intoxicants can only be consumed in this district, therefore most businesses in the district allow possession and consumption on the property. This does however lead to an excess of publicly intoxicated individuals, so avoid this district unless you are looking to talk a walk on the weird side.
