Hello! I’m Amberine, a nonbinary GM who has been working on my own 5e setting and homebrew ruleset for quite a while. It’s called Champions of the Gods. I would like playtesting for this setting and ruleset. Just players for right now. Thank you for your interest. Anyway, enough about logistics, you want to know about the setting, so here you go: To understand this story, we need to go back. Back to when the world was empty and nothing existed. Two gods came to Caldera. The goddess of light, Pauline, and the god of darkness, Hal. They created the world as we know it. The light of the sun, and the shadows that accompany such a thing. That wasn’t enough though. Soon, the god of sentience appeared, and with him came the races of Caldera. Not before long, the goddess of love and the god of conflict appeared, the embodiment of the races. As society got more complicated, more and more gods appeared, until there was a whole pantheon. Around 1200 years after the light was brought to the world, the god of darkness brought something upon the world. Famine and plague. No one knows why he did it. But the gods were angry with him, and after a quick deliberation, he was kicked out of the pantheon and banished from the world. Around 1400 years after the light was brought to the world, the gods realized something. They were disconnected from life in the world of Caldera. Together, they decided that they needed champions to fight for them in reality and connect them with the world. Thus, the tradition of champions of the gods was born. 100 years later, the gods are looking for more champions. They decide based on virtues, and you have been selected for a trial period of training. But something else has happened. You see, the god of darkness is back... and he has a champion too.
