Reputations/User Notes

This is just a simple idea: Free concept and all, please don't somehow make it a pay option. Say you're making a campaign and have to review a pool of applicants, and you want to pick the best rpers or something. Similar to karma, this allows you to notice "huh people seem to hate this person". While you may see a normal rper, others may have had a bad experience, where said player literally tried to screw a pooch in game. Up voting and down voting a player, showing a reputation for them. At the same time, there could be reviews, where people describe their experiences. For some players, who are new, they may say it's too hard to join a campaign without a reputation, but the solution is 1 shots, even a single one shot played gives 5 players to review each other, suggesting improvements, or even saying how great it was. Low risk for a GM and the Players, the reward of experience. There is one danger, that of drama surely. Which is why I also suggest the option for a player who has been reviewed, to respond, making the reviewer and the receiving party able to carry out a dialogue. Not only is the individual able to defend themselves against potentially untrue words, the individual is able to carry out a dialogue and resolve drama or issues. The keyword being potentially in these cases. Honestly, I'm a little surprised we don't have this already. This gives some credibility to "Oh I'm a great rper people love me", and even tips, like "Work a little on your teamwork skills, but otherwise you're great!"

I think that your description reveals a lot of the pitfalls of this. People could write unfair reviews, and no one wants an unfair or hateful review on your Profile, even if you have the opportunity to respond to it. What you can do for now is, ask the GM about their style & read their game description; and send a message to the other Players in a campaign asking how it's going, if you want more feedback before deciding whether to join a particular game.
Oh I'm not having problems, I'm suggesting it for others. It's not really for the player to use when joining a campaign, more about for a gm I suppose. Though you're right, too many pitfalls to make it worthwhile.
Just no.

To elaborate a tad on what HoneyBadger so succinctly (and correctly) said. No. This has been brought up and debated several times in the past. Others will come along and highlight the drawbacks. But Gold did a good job outlining them.
