Ch. 67: The Party Returns to Phadelver With The Dwarf Miners then Head up to Havenfall Manor

Sirus: Hello all.   Feralda: Good morning   Roqar: Hey   Dungeon Master (GM): Hello There!   Feralda: Rix is inside a wall. :P   Sirus: good   Dungeon Master (GM): Ok, when we last left off, you were deciding on what to do about the occupants of the mine. So take it from there.   Feralda: Yes. The Dwarves deserve to have their home back, but the new occupants aren't hostile, so we're going to try to convince them to leave. Feralda can use enhance ability on Avery to grant advantage on persuasion checks. We can also use inspiration. If all else fails, and they refuse to leave, we will attack.   Sirus: Roxxifarius suggested that we convince the dwarves to leave, and when they get their strength back, we all fight the wererats together.   Feralda: Although it's still kind of sad that these Dwarves are so stubborn, they're starving themselves, and refusing to go to the river and bathe, rather than leaving the mountain to find reinforcements, and handling this themselves. Yeah, cinvoncing the Dwarves to get off their asses could work too.   Sirus: Roqar, are you alive rn?   Roqar: Yes I'm here Talk to the Dwarves get them to come with us is my plan   Dungeon Master (GM): oK, so looks like you all want to try to convince the dwarves to leave.   Sirus: Yeah, let's give that one a try.   Feralda: Yeah, let's do that.   Sirus: ....This session is gonna be a bit rough with just the three of us tho   Dungeon Master (GM): Buddy will try to come in, it just depends on how long his bed shopping will be.   Sirus: Okay.   Dungeon Master (GM): Elizabeth hasn't said anything, so I don't know about her.   Sirus: Elizabeth, Rolo and Bahrren are all MIA. Alright, so we can have Feralda use enhance on Avery and she and Marcy will go in to talk to the dwarves.   Feralda: Yis Eacle's splendor.   Sirus: Right. Avery will also do Bardic Inspiration for a d8 to add onto it for best results, when the persuasion roll happens.   Dungeon Master (GM): ok, so talk to the dwarves again and do your thing.   Feralda: Enhance Ability Transmutation 2 Casting Time:  1 action Range:  Touch Target:  A creature Components:  V, S, M (Fur or a feather from a beast) Duration:  Concentration Up to 1 hour Feralda touches Avery and bestow upon a magical enhancement. Choose one of the following effects; the target gains that effect until the spell ends. Bear’s Endurance. The target has advantage on Constitution checks. It also gains 2d6 temporary hit points, which are lost when the spell ends. Bull’s Strength. The target has advantage on Strength checks, and his or her carrying capacity doubles. Cat’s Grace. The target has advantage on Dexterity checks. It also doesn’t take damage from falling 20 feet or less if it isn’t incapacitated. Eagle’s Splendor. The target has advantage on Charisma checks. Fox’s Cunning. The target has advantage on Intelligence checks. Owl’s Wisdom. The target has advantage on Wisdom checks. At Higher Levels .  When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 3rd level or higher, you can target one additional creature for each slot level above 2nd. SPELL SLOT LEVEL 22 OF 3 REMAINING   Dungeon Master (GM): so Eagle's splendor on the charisma?   Sirus: yes   Feralda: Yes Too bad the spell doesn't just enhance everything. That would be OP though.   Sirus: Far too OP for a level 2 spell.   Dungeon Master (GM): ok, lets see what you say to them this time and roll a charisma check then   Avery the Half-Elf Bard Walks back over to the dwarves with Marcy, keeping her voice somewhat soft so nobody outside the room can hear.   Feralda: Actually would be cool if you chose multiple enhancements when upcast, instead of multiple targets.   Dungeon Master (GM): there's 5 dwarves here how many are you hoping to have this work on?   Sirus: That would basically demand twisting multiple magics at once.   Feralda: Does it look like one of them has seniority?   Sirus: I'm hoping that if she can convince one of the dwarves to come along, the others will follow suit, ngl   Dungeon Master (GM): not really, to your they are all just smelly and dirty dwarves.   Feralda: Talk to the one who looks the oldest. :P Or the one who looks closest to death.   Dungeon Master (GM): ok   Feralda: Filthy lazy dwarves who would rather starve themselves in silent protest, than take action.   Avery: Avery the Half-Elf Bard Says: "I think it might be a good idea if you all came with me. We need to get you all out of here. I know this is your mine, and you want to keep it, and we want to help you to get it back as well, but not with you all in such a state. If you'll just come with us, we'll get you back to fighting form and we will get you your mine back. I promise." 29 | 20 PERSUASION  (10) Avery   Feralda: Noice   Avery: rolling d8( 6 ) = 6   Sirus: bardic inspiration, 35 result total   Feralda: Good lawd, you could convince the wererats to leave with a roll that good.   Sirus: +10 to persuasion checks.   Feralda: I think 30 is the max DC a check can have.   Sirus: Yeah so ah...that succeeds lol
Dwarf Miner Says: "Well, It appears you might not be in league with the werefolks in trying to con us into leaving and I am starving here."   Avery the Half-Elf Bard Says: "Come. We'll get you some food, some drink, a bit of rest. We'll prepare, and then we'll work together to get these wererats out of your mine."   Dwarf Miner Says: "What do the rest of you think, now that it appears we have others on our side?"   Feralda the Elf Wizard Says: "Yes, you can always come back later, with allies, and fight for your home."   Dwarf Miner Says: "Eh, well, ok then."   Sirus: Based bard.   Dungeon Master (GM): and the rest will also agree   Roqar the Elf Rogue Says: "It would be a much better way to honor your kin to regain control of this mine then to die along with them we can help you regain control"   Marcuria the Human Barbarian Says: "Nice one, Avery. Dwarves are usually pretty stubborn people. You really do have the gift of gab."   Feralda the Elf Wizard Says: "Yes, a real silver tongue."   Dwarf Miner Says: "Yes, yes. Alright, we will get out of here. Where should we go?"   Avery the Half-Elf Bard Says: "Hee hee.~ Just follow me."   Feralda the Elf Wizard Says: "Where is the nearest Dwarven settlement to this place?"   Dungeon Master (GM): hmm, DM has no idea because none is mentioned in either module being used.   Feralda: Lol   Sirus: We could just bring them back to town Phandalin is not far away?   Feralda: Yeah, just brong them back to town for now. Bring   Marcuria the Human Barbarian Says: "Underdark if I know. We'll just bring them to Phandalin."   Dwarf Miner Says: "Oh, Phandalin, is where you are from then?"   Roqar: Yes but Neverwinter is more likely to have the silver we need   Marcuria the Human Barbarian Says: "Some of us. Just stick close to us. We'll get you to town, and then you can straighten yourself out."   Dwarf Miner Says: "oh, silver, yea, right, that would help us yes."   Avery the Half-Elf Bard Says: "Neverwinter is too far for all of you to go, I would think. We can get some silver to fight the wererats with." Heads for the way out, motioning for the others to follow.   Dwarf Miner Says: "Yes, ok, we will go with you to Phandalin then."   Feralda the Elf Wizard Says: "We can just tell the rats we're getting rid of their Dwarf problem, and they'll be none the wiser."   Marcuria the Human Barbarian Says: "Yup. Don't have a problem with lying, I hope."   Dwarf Miner Says: "We will meet you outside near the graves when you are ready to leave. We will pay our last respects before departing then."   Roqar the Elf Rogue Says: "Lemme tell the rats "   Feralda the Elf Wizard Says: "That sounds good."   Marcuria the Human Barbarian Says: "Be right behind you. Don't take too long, Roq."   Sirus: Ok so they're all gonna start to make their way out, with Roqar going to inform Zeleen that they convinced the dwarves to leave.   Dungeon Master (GM): alright   Sirus: that fucking roll tho, hell yes. Avery is based Marcy will go update Don-Jon on what the plan is.   Dungeon Master (GM): alright   Feralda: Really it was one point away from a nat 20.   Roqar: 15 | 11 DECEPTION  (4) Roqar   Sirus: Hey it's not lying to say that the dwarves are leaving. :P   Feralda: Yeah, it's more a lie of omission than anything else. Just saying we're getting the Dwarves out of here, just kindly wait for the Neverwinter representative regarding the mining operations. Thanks for your time.   Dungeon Master (GM): ok and looks like the deception will work   Marcuria the Human Barbarian Says: "Alright, look. We want the rats out, but this is a bad place to do it. None of us have silvered weapons. Avery's convinced the dwarves to leave. We'll bring them back to Phandalin, let them get their strength back. We're gonna have to go to Neverwinter to get some silver. When that's done, we'll get ready to come back here and wipe these rats out, with the dwarves helping us. Can you make that work? Sorry if that means this is gonna take a few days to get done."
Zeleen Varnaster the Overseer Says: "Oh, so you have met the dwarves and talked them into leaving. splendid! No more fussing with them then. Thank you all!"   Feralda the Elf Wizard Says: "Yes, we're good at solving problems.~"   Dungeon Master (GM): ok, so now you all head back to phandalin with the dwarves?   Sirus: after marcy finishes talking with Don-Jon yea   Dungeon Master (GM): ok Just waiting to see what you say to Don-Jon   Sirus: I already posted it   Dungeon Master (GM): oh   Sirus: Yes, the big wall of text from Marcy is addressed to him lol   Dungeon Master (GM): ah, what Marcuria said then   Sirus: fine i'll repost it, just a moment   Don-Jon Raskin the Miner Says: "Sounds all good to me. My business associates will be stopping in phandalin anyways."   Roqar: Roqar basically said Hey Guys the Dwarves and us are leaving, good luck   Sirus: nvm lol   Marcuria the Human Barbarian Says: "Alright. Good. We're leaving then. Nothing more we can do here." Says: "....For the time being."   Feralda the Elf Wizard Says: "Yes, let's leave this place."   Dungeon Master (GM): alright you all head back and that's means you arrive in town when it gets dark   Feralda: Sure. We can sleep in town.   Dungeon Master (GM): just doing 3 checks here for wandering monsters:  5   2   1 ok when you get  3  miles from town we have an encounter   Sirus: f   Dungeon Master (GM): 7 undead skeletons of the dwarf variety   Sirus: Fun.   Feralda: Interesting coincidence.   Sirus: Juan you are needed o3o   Feralda: Maybe they skeletons don't like that the Dwarves left.   Dungeon Master (GM): let's see how many of them:  5   Sirus: the field of combat.   Roqar the Elf Rogue Says: "This could be you guys if you stayed there"   Marcuria the Human Barbarian Says: "Not now, Roq. We got some bones to put back in the ground..."   Feralda the Elf Wizard Says: "It seems like their dead brethren didn't like them abandoning the mine."   Dungeon Master (GM): ha ha ha!   Feralda the Elf Wizard Says: "Smelly Dwarves is one thing. Smelly undead Dwarves are intolerable."   Feralda: Feralda, the Elf Wizard, gets ready to make an attack move! INITIATIVE ROLL: 21.16 Only 1 Roll shown to save space! Round 1 Juan Denero 's turn is done. Dia Xiloscient , it's now your turn!   Sirus: Farren needs to be moved up into position   Dungeon Master (GM): ok now   Sirus: Righto, Dia   Feralda: Don't jump into melee just yet.   Sirus: Yeah I can imagine, we're shooting for fireballs and shiet Flaming Sphere coming out too.   Dia Xiloscient: FOR DESCRIPTION ONLY Flaming Sphere Conjuration 2 Casting Time:  1 action Range:  60 feet Target:  An unoccupied space of your choice within range Components:  V, S, M (A bit of tallow, a pinch of brimstone, and a dusting of powdered iron) Duration:  Concentration Up to 1 minute A 5-foot-diameter sphere of fire appears in an unoccupied space of your choice within range and lasts for the duration. Any creature that ends its turn within 5 feet of the sphere must make a Dexterity saving throw. The creature takes 2d6 fire damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one. As a bonus action, you can move the sphere up to 30 feet. If you ram the sphere into a creature, that creature must make the saving throw against the sphere’s damage, and the sphere stops moving this turn. When you move the sphere, you can direct it over barriers up to 5 feet tall and jump it across pits up to 10 feet wide. The sphere ignites flammable objects not being worn or carried, and it sheds bright light in a 20-foot radius and dim light for an additional 20 feet. At Higher Levels .  When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 3rd level or higher, the damage increases by 1d6 for each slot level above 2nd. SPELL SAVE DC : 15   Dungeon Master (GM): ok a flaming sphere
that will hit 3 of them   Sirus: Yes it will.   Feralda: Nice   Sirus: woosh dex saves   Dungeon Master (GM): Dexterity skeleton Ability:  3  |  15   Feralda: If moved a little to the left, could it hit four?   Dungeon Master (GM): Dexterity skeleton Ability:  16  |  11 Dexterity skeleton Ability:  21  |  16   Dia Xiloscient: rolling 2d6( 3 + 1 ) = 4   Sirus: 4 damage to 1, 2 to the others   Dungeon Master (GM): right   Sirus: and eot : Dia Xiloscient 's turn is done. Rolo , it's now your turn!   Rolo: 23 | 25 90 feet Chromatic Orb  (+6) Rolo Rolo hurls a 4-inch-diameter sphere of energy at Skeleton #04, that he can see within range. He chooses acid, cold, fire, lightning, poison, or thunder for the type of orb he creates, and then make a ranged spell attack against the target. If the attack hits, the creature takes 3d8 damage of the type you chose. At Higher Levels: When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 2nd level or higher, the damage increases by 1d8 for each slot level above 1st. 16 SPELL SLOT LEVEL 13 OF 4 REMAINING   Sirus: oof. 16 fire damage to that skellington.   Dungeon Master (GM): looks like 16 damage there   Sirus: eot. It seems that Skeleton #04 is defeated!   Sirus: SPANKED. : Rolo 's turn is done. Avery , it's now your turn!   Avery: DC15 Wisdom   Save Avery unleash a string of insults laced with subtle enchantments at Skeleton #05, she can see within range. If the target can hear you (though it need not understand you), it must succeed on a Wisdom saving throw or take 1d4 psychic damage and have disadvantage on the next attack roll it makes before the end of its next turn. At Higher Levels: This spell’s damage increases by 1d4 when you reach 5th level (2d4), 11th level (3d4), and 17th level (4d4). 7 Psychic 60 feet Vicious Mockery Avery   Sirus: DC15 wis save   Sirus: sorry nothing   Dungeon Master (GM): Wisdom skeleton Ability:  14  |  13   Sirus: 7 psychic damage. also disadvantage on next turn attack roll   It seems that Skeleton #05 is defeated!   Sirus: DED eot : Avery 's turn is done. Feralda , it's now your turn!   Feralda: DC16 Dexterity   Save A bright streak flashes from Feralda's pointing finger to Skeleton #02, within range and then blossoms with a low roar into an explosion of flame. Each creature in a 20-foot-radius sphere centered on that point must make a Dexterity saving throw. The burst of the fireball does not expend a considerable amount of pressure, and the burst will generally conform to the shape of the area in which it occurs, thus covering an area equal to its normal spherical volume. [The area which is covered by the fireball is a total volume of 33,510 cubic feet (33.5, 10-foot × 10-foot × 10-foot cubes)]. A target takes 8d6 fire damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one. The fire spreads around corners. It ignites flammable objects in the area that aren’t being worn or carried. At Higher Levels: When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 4th level or higher, the damage increases by 1d6 for each slot level above 3rd. 34 Fire 150 feet Fireball Feralda SPELL SLOT LEVEL 31 OF 2 REMAINING   Sirus: nope they're all dead lol Even saving that would do lethal damage, pretty sure   Dungeon Master (GM): Dexterity skeleton Ability:  10  |  12 Dexterity skeleton Ability:  14  |  10 Dexterity skeleton Ability:  9  |  17   Sirus: RIP   Feralda: They would need over 17 health to survive.   Sirus: All failed saves. ded, ded ded.
It seems that Skeleton #01 is defeated! It seems that Skeleton #02 is defeated! It seems that Skeleton #03 is defeated!     Feralda: FireballOPpleasenerf.   Sirus: Call Feralda Atom. Because all she does is NUKE   Dungeon Master (GM): ok, so you arrive back in phandalin   Feralda: This may be why Caleb from critical Role has a background where he's afraid of using fire spells. So he doesn't just fireball everything to oblivion.   Sirus: So let's see, the GM said it'd be dark by the time they got back to town yes?   Dungeon Master (GM): it is   Sirus: So that means first is getting a room for the night   Feralda: Yes, let's just head to the Inn. The Dwarves need food anyway.   Dungeon Master (GM): so you can stay at roqar's house or the inn.   Roqar: Stop by Shrine pay homage for another trip   Dungeon Master (GM): ok ok ok you are at the inn now with your new friends and Nundro and Gundren happen to be there enjoying a meal and mead   Marcuria the Human Barbarian Takes note of Nundro and Gundren, and waits for a few moments before making her presence known to them.   Feralda the Elf Wizard Says: "I see a couple of Dwarves already live in this town."   Marcuria the Human Barbarian Says: "Of course....happen to have saved one of these two before, actually..........Hey. Holding up alright?"   Nundro the Miner Says: "Well look what we have here, you fellow dwarves look the worst for wear? What happened?"   Marcuria the Human Barbarian Says: "Wererats. These guys were going to hold their ground until they starved to death if we hadn't come across them."   Roqar the Elf Rogue Says: "Not for long most likely, their looking for miners for another place"   Dwarf Party of 5 Says: "Eh, well, we were mining at Mountain's Toe, and these diseased wererats decided to move in. They said orcs chased them out of the old shrine of Savren."   Says: "We put up a fight and lost 10 of our members and tried to keep part of the mine for ourselves at least, until your friends came along."   Roqar the Elf Rogue Says: "Maybe we should go by there clean out the Orcs"   Marcuria the Human Barbarian Says: "True as that might be, they have no right to stick around the mine. As you might imagine though, we're not really in a good condition to be forcing them out..."   Feralda the Elf Wizard Says: "I don't suppose you two want to hire these people? They're in need of a new home, if they don't take back Giant's Toe."   Gundren the Miner Says: "Eh, Interesting. Tell you what though, would you folks be willing to work for use at Phandelver mine then? Yes that Phandelver, we have found its location!"   Sirus: I didn't know this town is on top of a mine! o3o jk   Feralda: Phandelver Mine, near Phandalin.   Dwarf Party of 5 Says: "Phandelver you say? It is found? Why yes we will be willing to help you there, certainly!"   Feralda: Although I think it's also called Wave Echo Cave.   Dungeon Master (GM): yes it is now called that   Marcuria the Human Barbarian Says: "Well, that's good for you at least. But first, these guys need food and drink...and we need to get our rest. Still need to push the wererats out of that mine. Might need to take a trip to Neverwinter, try to get some silver so we can actually hurt the things without magic."   Dungeon Master (GM): The stubborn dwarves will work for Gundren   Roqar the Elf Rogue Says: "Wonder how much silver we have here in town?"   Dungeon Master (GM): last time I think the blacksmith didn't have any   Marcuria the Human Barbarian Says: "None, Roq...oh for it to be that easy..."   Roqar: Guess we march to Neverwinter   Feralda the Elf Wizard Says: "I don't suppose your mine has silver, Gundren?"   Toblen Stonehill: Says, “ He could get the silver through the lionshield coster, whom would buy the silver in Neverwinter and have it sent to phandalin.”   Roqar: Takes too long I think   Gundren the Miner Says: "Well, yes there could possible be some deposits of other metals in the mine."   Feralda: I mean, as long as these Dwarves have a place to live and work, it's not exactly a rush job.   Marcuria the Human Barbarian Says: "And if there isn't silver in there, we are just going to end up wasting time......then again, we lose several days on the trip to and from Neverwinter..."   Gundren the Miner Says: "That will take a long while just to find and then process."   Feralda: The guys in Neverwinter probably don't care who mines the Toe.   Feralda the Elf Wizard Says: "May as well get it from Neverwinter, then. Thanks anyway."
Marcuria the Human Barbarian Says: "Shame, too. I'd almost be willing to help you guys mine it out if it meant we'd get some silver out of it. Thanks anyways, Gundren."   Sirus: Marcy still has that pickaxe   Dungeon Master (GM): As to the Orcs at the Shrine of Savren...you worked out a deal with them to not raid Conybury and they could stay there with the women and children.   Feralda: So the Orcs are still there?   Dungeon Master (GM): yep   Sirus: Mmh, best not to touch that arrangement then   Feralda: I guess the Wererats are getting a raw deal wither way. We're probably not supposed to care so much about those guys, though, with there being dwarves to help. :P   Sirus: Precisely. We can give them one opportunity to go find someplace else to dwell before they get blasted lol.   Feralda: This is like a chain of deals sidequests. You have to do one thing, but to do that you have to do another thing, and so forth and so on, until your reward is some kind of unique item that helps you with the final dungeon.   Sirus: :P I almost sort of want Marcy to take a crack at mining sometime.   Feralda: She should definitely have the strength for it.   Sirus: she definitely does   Roqar: Heres an idea We refurbish the Manse in the woods and move in there centrally located for any trouble in the area   Dungeon Master (GM): ok, so now, where will the party be heading off to next? The Paladin's haunted manor? Don-Jon will pay you for your services by the way.   Sirus: Ah ok that's good of him +100 GP   Feralda: Haunted manor sounds good. I have my "turn undead" spell ready. It turns them into ash.   Sirus: So we each get +12 GP and an electrum.   Feralda: Kewl   Roqar: We may not want to turn the Paladin to ash, we solve the cursae and he goes away   Sirus: Ah, we did rest before heading out I hope   Feralda: Ok, no fireballing the paladin. I would hope we took a long rest in town, yes.   Dungeon Master (GM): ok, the trip up to the manor is about 25 miles so like the try to mountain's toe you get there around night fall. Wandering monster checks:  4   6   3   6   4 no encounters getting up there let's just say it's morning now and you approach the manor   Sirus: Ok so yes to rest. Lemme see.   Roqar: Its dam cold in there   Sirus: Right, this is what the winter clothes are for.   Dungeon Master (GM): ok, let me post you the 3 diary pages the party had previous found while inside the manor.   Sirus: Oh yeah wasn't there something about digging some graves? Which prompted Marcy to buy a shovel?   Roqar: possibly finding graves   Dungeon Master (GM): not that i recall anything about graves.   Sirus: I swear you mentioned something about digging around outside the manor, Roqar   Roqar: Yes cause we found nothing inside so my guess was search outside in hopes of finding graves, bones etc   Feralda: Graverobbing. How shameful.   Roqar: trying to find the ghost lasting peace somehow   Feralda: Mhm I guess the notes suggest he's some sort of revenant now. The dragon did something to his family, and now he wants to kill that dragon's family.   Dungeon Master (GM): by the way that is a different white dragon than the current one.   Marcuria the Human Barbarian Says: "Alright. So, this manor....this is the place, Roqar?"   Dungeon Master (GM): ok, so are you adventurers just going to pussy foot along the path outside?!   Feralda the Elf Wizard Says: "Spooky." Let's get in there. :P See, I'm trying not to run ahead on my own this time.   Roqar the Elf Rogue Says: "This is it, get your coats and mittens on"   Sirus: dunno, is the GM gonna insult us for not yeeting crotch-first into death? :P   Marcuria the Human Barbarian Says: "Yeah. Better bundle up. I can feel the cold from here."   Feralda: Scry and die! Go go go!   Dungeon Master (GM): ha ha! well see the party has froze on numerous occasion when this place was brought up!   Feralda: Nice choice of words.   Sirus: xD Smooth. Ok so everybody puts on the winter clothes so they can keep warm in the sp00p mansion   Dungeon Master (GM): ok   Roqar: Well last time I was here Dam its cold and We aint found shit were said often   Feralda: Yes, warm weather clothes on. Create bonfire prepared.   Marcuria the Human Barbarian Glances toward the mansion after getting her winter clothes on, and sighs. "...Well...I guess there's no time like the present.   Feralda the Elf Wizard Says: "Yes, let's go."
Dungeon Master (GM): Approaching Havenfall Manor: One thing is evident when approaching Havenfall Manor; the entire area seems to be about 10 degrees colder than the rest of the forest. Also it appears that it’s been years since the Manor was attacked. Plants are growing out of the windows and bushes around the home grow uncontrollably.   Roqar the Elf Rogue Says: "Were back"   Dungeon Master (GM): The double doors are made of a thick oak, that have now been splinted by damage. Each of the doors barely clings to the hinges which they were originally connected to. Trying to peer between the shattered doors just reveals darkness beyond them.   Marcuria the Human Barbarian Says: "Oh, sure. Let all the undead know we're here. Very smart..."   Roqar the Elf Rogue Says: "Only one we met was the ghost, he was not happy"   Feralda the Elf Wizard Says: "Sure, I mean we kill hordes of enemies fairly easily."   Dungeon Master (GM): ok, so when you opened the doors they did creak very loudly and yes it is so dark in here that no sunlight appears through the windows on the east side   Feralda the Elf Wizard Uses presdiditation to light a torch.   Marcuria the Human Barbarian Says: "Spoken like somebody who's never seen what a ghost can do in a fight..."   Feralda: Prestidigitation   Feralda the Elf Wizard Says: "Are they resistant to fire?" Actually can Feralda do a knowledge check for ghosts?   Dungeon Master (GM): the torch flickers to life but it's light does not penetrate the darkness much beyond the torch itself.   Feralda the Elf Wizard Says: "This darkness is very thick."   Sirus: magic darkness.   Dungeon Master (GM): what are you hoping to glean from knowing something about ghosts?   Feralda: And no daylight spell for Feralda. I don't think. Just to see if there's any really common dangers, or if they're resistant/immune to fire. For some reason, aylight isn't a wizard spell. She wasn't expecting magical darkness today though, anyway. Only cold.   Dungeon Master (GM): Well, I would think you would at least know that ghosts like to haunt old places or places where they have died.   Roqar the Elf Rogue Says: "Lets start searching"   Feralda: Investigation check? To search the area.   Dungeon Master (GM): ok but where do you search?   Marcuria the Human Barbarian Says: "Stick as close as possible, everyone. Don't want to get separated in the dark."   Feralda: I want to find out where this darkness ends.   Dungeon Master (GM): so no one has a means to counter what could be magical darkness?   Feralda: I don't have dispel magic or daylight.   Dungeon Master (GM): anyone with infra/night vision can't see through the darkness here either. ok   Sirus: Pretty much. Rolo has a thing to cast light, but I don't think we have magic darkness dispel.   Feralda: I picked a few utility spells for Feralda, but not dispel magic. Maybe I should add that the next day.   Dungeon Master (GM): ok, so we can say that the party camps out until the next day so that feralda memorizes the dispel magic spell   Sirus: Yeah that's fair. Marcy isn't interested in wandering in a pitch-black room anyways.   Feralda: What's her maximum number of spells?   Roqar: Both Dispel and Daylight if possible   Feralda: Daylight isn't a wizard spell.   Dungeon Master (GM): ok, so let's just say it's the next day and you head back inside and Feralda casts the dispel magic   Feralda: Dispel Magic Abjuration 3 Casting Time:  1 action Range:  120 feet Target:  One creature, object, or magical effect within range Components:  V, S Duration:  Instantaneous Choose one creature, object, or magical effect within range. Any spell of 3rd level or lower on the target ends. For each spell of 4th level or higher on the target, make an ability check using your spellcasting ability. The DC equals 10 + the spell’s level. On a successful check, the spell ends. At Higher Levels .  When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 4th level or higher, you automatically end the effects of a spell on the target if the spell’s level is equal to or less than the level of the spell slot you used. SPELL SLOT LEVEL 31 OF 2 REMAINING   Dungeon Master (GM): which then causes the darkness to lessen to the point that now you see daylight stream inside from the east and a couple windows to the north   Marcuria the Human Barbarian Says: "Well that's...marginally better."   Feralda the Elf Wizard Says: "Much better."   Sirus: I guess a good place to start checking around would be these tables. Maybe more notes underneath them or something.   Roqar the Elf Rogue Says: "I'll start over here on the left"   Dungeon Master (GM): This large room is massive. Several large tables, now broken, lie scattered about. Pieces of armor and broken weapons line the floor. There are noticeably, three suits of armor on the western wall, northern wall, and eastern wall, all of which seem undamaged. There are broken paintings along the floor and tossed in the middle of the room. It appears that some fighting may have taken place here on top of the destruction this room suffered from the dragon’s attack. A deep crack splits the roof where portions are open to the night sky. The floor also has a similar crack along the floor.
Avery the Half-Elf Bard Says: "Mind the crack..."   Feralda: I'll investigate around the damage. See if I can find out anything about the nature of the dragon.   Dungeon Master (GM): actually 3 pieces of the armor is now damages and scattered along the floor to the west side.   Feralda: May as well check out the armors too.   Sirus: Avery and Marcy will both start checking the tables.   Dungeon Master (GM): Roqar would tell the party that they had fought these pieces of armor. Which activated when they got close to them.   Feralda the Elf Wizard Says: "Oh, that's why..."   Roqar the Elf Rogue Says: "If I recall some of the armor was trapped, tap it from a distance first, to be safe"   Feralda: Staying away from unactivated armor, then.   Marcuria the Human Barbarian Says: "Feralda, keep your distance from them. No guarantee it won't wake up again."   Dungeon Master (GM): checking the tables doesn't find you anything nor does it show anything beyond that a fight happened here.   Feralda the Elf Wizard Says: "That's fine. I don't wear heavy armor, anyway."   Marcuria the Human Barbarian Says: "I wouldn't trust the armor in here anyways. It'd probably possess me."   Roqar: 5 | 16 INVESTIGATION  (0) Roqar   Dungeon Master (GM): so ok, we have sunlight coming in from the crack in the roof as well. Roqar couldn't figure something out   Feralda: Yeah, you put the armor on, and it takes you for a ride, as it tries to kill your friends.   Sirus: are there any stairs going to deeper levels?   Dungeon Master (GM): No stairs to be seen anywhere in the room. looks like where I ping is the only door out of this large hall to the north and there are 3 doors to the south   Sirus: let's try down here then is door locked?   Dungeon Master (GM): ok the door is not locked so when opened you see: This hallway has splotches of blood scattered on the walls. It’s unclear what caused the blood or who the blood came from. There is a large red and gold rug covering the floor here, which is now layered in filth and dust.   Feralda: Is it fresh or old?   Dungeon Master (GM): there is a door directly south opposite the one you entered. and one double door on the west wall as well the blood is old and dry   Marcuria the Human Barbarian Says: "....Yeah....okay. I see how it is."   Sirus: Ok, now we try this next door.   Dungeon Master (GM): which is the south or west one?   Sirus: the south one.   Dungeon Master (GM): ok, as soon as Marcuria goes to push it open she is attacked by.... If you are able to cast spells, you can’t cast them or concentrate on them while raging. Your rage lasts for 1 minute. It ends early if you are knocked unconscious or if your turn ends and you haven’t attacked a hostile creature since your last turn or taken damage since then. Your hit point maximum and current hit points increase by your barbarian level plus your consitution modifier. In addition, you have a +2 bonus to your Armor Class. Claws. Each of your hands transforms into a claw, which you can use as a weapon if it's empty. It is a light weapon that deals 1d6 slashing damage on a hit. It counts as a held weapon for the purposes of two-weapon fighting. Once on each of your turns when you attack with a claw using the Attack action, you can make one additional claw attack as part of the same action. Tail. You grow a lashing, spiny tail. It is a heavy weapon which deals 1d10 piercing damage on a hit and has the reach property. If a creature you can see within 10 feet of you hits you with an attack roll, you can use your reaction to swipe your tail and roll a d10, applying a bonus to your AC equal to the number rolled, potentially causing the attack to miss you. She can't be put to sleep via normal or magical means.   Dungeon Master (GM): ok roll the spell save to see if you catch it.   Sirus: ..Yes actually Only Marcy would be susceptible to it I think   Dungeon Master (GM): very well then the effect moves to Avery instead   Sirus: Avery is also en elf. *an   Feralda: Lol Ok, this is wonderful. She now has an item she can use to put people to sleep, while being immune to it.   Dungeon Master (GM): ok so it's Marcuria whom yawns and gets the urge to sleep but fights it off (her HP is more than the spell affected)   Marcuria the Human Barbarian Says: "Ngh...close the..box. Stupid...sleep magic."   Feralda the Elf Wizard Closes the box.   Dungeon Master (GM): ok, doing anything more with the box?   Feralda the Elf Wizard Says: "Seems it has a sleep spell effect. Interesting." Keeping the box.   Sirus: Feralda or Avery can pocket it. Could come in handy in a pinch. yeah   Dungeon Master (GM): alright   Feralda: What's the range?   Dungeon Master (GM): the north door in the previous room now?   Sirus: Actually we are drawing near 2.   Dungeon Master (GM): 90 ft just like the regular sleep spell   Sirus: Might be a good place to stop   Feralda: Awesome   Sirus: my rear end hurts from sitting and I want to go take a walk : x   Feralda: Let's stop then. Good session, I think.   Sirus: Will definitely take the northern door next week   Feralda: Yes   Dungeon Master (GM): ok we shall stop here then and Thank You all For Playing Today and see you all next Week!   Sirus: cya   Roqar: CYA
