I'm thinking about making a sheet, is a grid layout acceptable or is it too much like a table?

I'm thinking about making a sheet, is a grid layout acceptable or is it too much like a table? My plan is to just make a simple single layer sheet that runs vertically, with the players adding whichever fields they need as needed and can collapse and hide what they don't want to read. This will be for personal use not submitted.
Hi Devlin, Firstly, the rule against sheets using tables only applies to those that are going to be submitted to the public repository. If it's only for you and your friends to play, please use whatever markup you like! Secondly, if you mean CSS Grid, not only is that an absolutely perfect way to design your sheet, but also (in my opinion) by far the easiest! Hope you have lots of fun working on your sheet. Please come back to show us the progress that you make, or if you need any help. Happy gaming!
Ok thanks

My sheet uses tables extensively.  Not sure why they are bad. But in order to get rid of them I'd have to start over. And that's not going to happen.  But using tables hasn't hindered my sheet for private use. It was actually based on the code for a roll20 approved sheet that used tables, which is why I used tables.

Originally, tables were what was used for layout.  Then the standard evolved to css grid/flex.  Any sheets using tables (that I am aware of) predate that change in requirements, so it wasn't an issue when they were submitted.  That is why you can find sheets on github written with tables.

CSS Grid is great once you learn how to use it.
