Let's keep up the momentum, then."   Dungeon Master (GM): This hallway was once lined with beautiful paintings of nature; but now they lie broken and tattered on the floor, all save one. A painting of a single red rose blooming in a barren field hangs near the western door.   Avery the Half-Elf Bard Says: "How sweet...and sad."   Feralda the Elf Wizard Says: "Not a fan of symbolism, if I can be blunt."   Dungeon Master (GM): ok, there is another double door right across the hall from where you entered   Avery: 16 | 19 PERCEPTION  (7) Avery   Dungeon Master (GM): and one in the south east corner what were you looking at avery?   Sirus: Just searching hallway in case of more notes   Roqar: 20 | 11 PERCEPTION  (2) Roqar
Dungeon Master (GM): ok, no notes to be found and nothing else as well   Juan Denero: 20 | 3 PERCEPTION  (2) Juan Denero   Dungeon Master (GM): Roqar also comes up empty however, she feels that the painting could still fetch her 100 gp if it's cleaned up.   Roqar: Checking the doors before opening them   Dungeon Master (GM): Juan does not find anything of value here. the artist signed the painting as "Seleena"   Roqar: Mental note to swipe painting on leaving   Dungeon Master (GM): ok, if by checking you mean for traps I need a roll   Roqar: Did roll got a 20   Dungeon Master (GM): I thought that was for regular searching of the room ok, no trap was found.   Roqar: open the doors   Dungeon Master (GM): you enter into a courtyard   Marcuria the Human Barbarian Says: "Fresh air."   Dungeon Master (GM): There is a single rose bush in the center.   Avery the Half-Elf Bard Says: "You could make a very pretty little garden here with the right knowhow....."   Sirus: Avery will examine the rose bush.   Avery: 25 | 10 PERCEPTION  (7) Avery   Dungeon Master (GM): the planting here is now all wild and mixed with weeds it looks just like any other thorny rosebush   Sirus: Gonna do a roll to decide something real quick. rolling d20( 15 ) = 15   Dungeon Master (GM): ok, what were you deciding?   Sirus: Yeah. Maybe Avery will take a rose with her for craps and giggles. She'll use her dagger to safely cut one off without jabbing herself on sharp thorns.   Dungeon Master (GM): ok, you break off a rose steam ok   Marcuria the Human Barbarian Says: "Roses. They look nice, but they're not exactly my idea of a fun time."   Dungeon Master (GM): alright, you have the double doors in the north east corner of the master bedroom   Roqar: Roqar opens the doors   Dungeon Master (GM): it is a hallway you open into with a set of double doors on it's east end nothing fancy to note about this hallway   Roqar the Elf Rogue Says: "Guess its safe"   Dungeon Master (GM): yea, she goes across to the other side of the hallway without a problem   Roqar: Opens the doors   Dungeon Master (GM): This had at one time been the bedroom for three children by the looks of things. Three small beds, pushed against one wall, with children’s toys all in the same corner, while two larger beds are also in here. The children’s beds look as if they’ve not been used in many years, and the toys, other than being slightly scattered around the area that they were stored in, look untouched. Both beds look as if they had been used. There is a cracked statue of a human soldier near the southern door.   Elizabeth K.: Anything interesting about the statue? 21 | 24 INVESTIGATION  (7) Dia Xiloscient   Roqar: 10 | 2 INVESTIGATION  (0) Roqar   Roqar: checking the bed   Dungeon Master (GM): ok, Dia notes something about the soldier statue. She sees a small hole where the heart would be. I need to check something here a moment. ok done   Dungeon Master (GM): ok, it's a human...looks like a fighter and it's cracked. It does not come to life.   Marcuria the Human Barbarian Says: "Why would someone deface a statue like that?....jeez..."   Dungeon Master (GM): the hole, looks more like a keyhole   Elizabeth K.: Is the statue connected to anything? Like touching the wall?   Dungeon Master (GM): no, simply set on the floor there is a diary page on one of the big beds   Sirus: Avery will pick up and read.   ROLO: i help   Avery the Half-Elf Bard Says: "...Not sure I want to keep reading these. It doesn't get any better."   Dungeon Master (GM): there is a set of double doors in the center of the south wall   Marcuria the Human Barbarian Says: "Yeah. It's rough."   Dungeon Master (GM): and one in the north west corner no one is going to do anything with the keyhole in the statue?   Elizabeth K.: Have we found any keys in the mansion?   Dungeon Master (GM): only the one in the music box
28 | 16 Thieves' Tools  (2+0+6) Roqar Try to pick the keyhole   ROLO: any books   Dungeon Master (GM): roqar, simply picks the keyhole...taking  9  minutes and a square box pops out just above it, inside she sees a red ruby! no books to be found   ROLO: ty   Dungeon Master (GM): Roqar believes she could fetch about 500 gp for the ruby   Roqar the Elf Rogue Says: "My precious"   Marcuria the Human Barbarian Says: "Nice one."   Dungeon Master (GM): ok, which of the two other doors is next?   Sirus: south doors.   Dungeon Master (GM): ok There was once a beautifully stained glass for a ceiling; but it now lies completely shattered on the floor. Shelves of books lie broken upon the floor.   Elizabeth K.: Any interesting books? 8 | 18 INVESTIGATION  (7) Dia Xiloscient   Avery: 10 | 8 PERCEPTION  (7) Avery   Marcuria Violezi: 20 | 7 PERCEPTION  (3) Marcuria Violezi   Dungeon Master (GM): ok, Elizabeth looks around but does not find anything that stands out worth having a closer look at. same with avery Marcuria spots a piece of parchment that looks like another diary page   Marcuria the Human Barbarian Says: "Found something. I got this one..."   Sirus: Marcy picks up page and reads it.   Dungeon Master (GM): ok, that page was from before the dragon attack his home.   Marcuria the Human Barbarian Says: "Huh. Went to find and kill that White Dragon, only for it to find his family....sounds like it went for a low blow."   Roqar the Elf Rogue Says: "Yeah, lured him away then came in for the kill"   ROLO: i ask the party have any of you fought a dragon?   Dungeon Master (GM): ok, that is the statue you saw in the other room. for some reason it was in the wrong room.   Sirus: brb bathroom.   Dungeon Master (GM): ok ok, you have the north west door in the bedroom   Roqar the Elf Rogue Says: "Not yet, not really looking forward to it either"   Dungeon Master (GM): what's next?   Roqar: open the doors   Dungeon Master (GM): This was clearly the library in the manor as there are sixteen rows of shelves, standing 10 ft. tall and 30 ft. long. Most of the shelves have been knocked over, and books like torn, tattered, and ripped across the floor. The ceiling to the library has collapsed, leaving large fragments of stone strewn across the floor. Wooden beams from the ceiling lie exposed to the night skies. There is an eerie sense of coldness here that touches you down to your bones.   Avery the Half-Elf Bard Says: "I get the feeling we're closing in on our objective."   Dungeon Master (GM): as you enter the room , two ghostly figures rise up from the floor!   Avery: 14 | 16 PERCEPTION  (7) Avery   Dungeon Master (GM): both look like two young boys   Avery the Half-Elf Bard Says: "...Oh."   Elizabeth K.: Maybe Avery can talk them into helping us prepare to fight the dragon?   Marcuria the Human Barbarian Tenses up, but doesn't start a fight right away, remembering what happened with the Wraith.   ROLO: do we know what size the dragon is has anyone seen it?   Durin the Revenant Says: "Who Enters here! I warn you...Turn Back back now! You will not harm my brother!!!"   Avery the Half-Elf Bard Says: "Hello. Who might you be?" Says: "We're not here to hurt your brother. Who is he? Is there trouble?"   Durin the Revenant Says: "I am Durin Havenfall!" Says: "Tourne is my brother.", pointing to himself than the other ghostly figure.   Marcuria the Human Barbarian Eases up slightly and clears her throat.   Says: "Well, we're not really here to cause trouble. Just trying to work out exactly what happened here. Although it's starting to become pretty clear."   Durin the Revenant Says: "I will tell you what happened here... Ashenfrost, an ancient white dragon, attacked our home, I came rushing into the library"   Says: "And I saw Tourne was lying beneath a bookshelf with Ashenfrost, gleefully watching him die."
Marcuria the Human Barbarian Says: "Yeah...sounds like a dragon, alright..."   Durin the Revenant Says: "As I rushed over to Tourne, the beast breezed it's breath weapon upon us both!"   Marcuria the Human Barbarian Says: "And you got turned into popsicles.....right. Of course."   Durin the Revenant gives Marcuria a questioning look   Marcuria the Human Barbarian Says: "We'd like to put the spirits in this crumbling ruin of a mansion at peace. But...i'm gonna take a wild guess right now, and say that doing that would mean finding and killing this...Ashenfrost. Right?"   Dungeon Master (GM): anyone want to chime in and remind marcuria about somehthing?   Sirus: ..haha i've completely lost the plot. awesome.   Dungeon Master (GM): ok, yea...the diary pages tell you Taris killed Ashenfrost   ROLO: not sure out of game   Roqar the Elf Rogue Says: "Marcy We also have the curse on the Pal for um, forsaking his god"   Dia Xiloscient the Elf Wizard Says: "Or has Ashenfrost already been killed, and you need vengence on her children?"   Avery the Half-Elf Bard Says: "Marcuria...perhaps you should stop..."   Says: "The lord of the castle forsook his god. Gods...generally don't take well to being forsaken, to put it lightly."   Durin the Revenant Says: "My Father has told us he had defeated Ashenfrost and crushed her eggs."   ROLO: vengence me likes mumbles to my self   Durin the Revenant Says: "Something my Father did turned us into what you see, as from all I remember we should both be dead."   Sirus: Tourne's father is the paladin right?   Dungeon Master (GM): yes   Avery the Half-Elf Bard Says: "Your father forsake the gods when he came home to find you were dead. It seems likely they cursed him for doing so."   ROLO: so we should kill his father i message sirus   Sirus: messaging that to Avery then?   ROLO: k i message avery   Sirus: Avery is gonna shake her head with a glance to Rolo, to signal that's not the best idea right now. Not if there's a way to peacefully resolve it.   Durin the Revenant Says: "I see, interesting indeed."   Avery the Half-Elf Bard Says: "We come here not to destroy, but that you might all be put to peace, perhaps. Realizing this now, it might be...complicated. Perhaps if your father could be made to see reason....it might be possible for him to be absolved some day."   Roqar the Elf Rogue Says: "We have to find peace for this family"   Durin the Revenant Says: "I see your logic in this and my brother and I do not wish to be stuck here in the state we are in."   Says: "My father is in the chapel if you would see him there." there is a double door in the northwest and 30 ft from the south east cornter any search checks here?   Dungeon Master (GM): ok going right for the door, Roqar is and she also spots another diary page   Roqar: 12 | 6 INVESTIGATION  (0) Roqar   Avery the Half-Elf Bard Says: "Thank you. That only leaves one small detail otherwise."   Sirus: Avery says this, turning to the little fiend devil that has been tailing them this whole time. ahem   Berbalang ("Kenis") Says: "What?" ok, well we see what Avery wants Roqar opens the door The stained glass windows, and the ceiling, once made of glass have all been shattered. What was once, undoubtedly, a beautiful greenhouse now lies in ruins as weeds and wild plants grow now. Exotic flowers have perished due to lack of care. Entering the greenhouse, your breath can be seen due to the chilly air the gently whispers through the dead roses and plants...   Sirus: Kenis is looking for the paladin's sword right? just to doublecheck before I post this   Dungeon Master (GM): right   Avery the Half-Elf Bard Says: "This one here is apparently interested in your father's sword, I believe."   Durin the Revenant Says: "Why would a creature such as yourself want my father's sword?"   Berbalang ("Kenis") Says: "I am interested in learning of it's magical properties."   ROLO: who is this   Sirus: It's the berbalang devil that's been trailing them for a while.   Roqar: A Berbalang we met last week   ROLO: ohh ty   Durin the Revenant Says: "My Father will not think kind of anyone trespassing in the manor looking to cause harm and I doubt he would just hand over his sword to anyone."
Avery the Half-Elf Bard Says: "I am wary of him as well. But...despite being undoubtably a fiend, he has not proven violent yet. Kenis, what are you going to do with that sword once you've learned of it's magic?"   Berbalang ("Kenis") Says: "I have not decided on that yet"   ok, anymore dialogue? any actions after Roqar opened the door into the greenhouse?   Roqar: search it 20 | 13 INVESTIGATION  (0) Roqar   Elizabeth K.: Does anyone think we can make a peaceful resolution with the father, or should we plan an ambush?   ROLO: i message no sure?   Dungeon Master (GM): Roqar spots 2 more pages of the diary laying about the floor here and as she reaches down to pick one up, a ghostly feminine figure rises from the floor!   Sirus: Well, Avery's being honest and straight forward. It's gonna be a bad idea to then try and bushwhack the paladin Just asking for the guy's ghostly kids to then attack us as well.   Roqar: We try to make peace   Seleena the Banshee Says: "Begone I say! for I now crave your life!"   Sirus: This way, the absolute worst that happens is just having to fight the paladin.   ROLO: message what killed your father? to avery   Avery the Half-Elf Bard Says: "Easy there. Easy, we're not your enemy..."   Roqar: Roqar leaves the room   Sirus: Avery is gonna stick close to Roqar for this one. Mmh somehow I get the feeling we're gonna need to resolve the ghost problem before we can read those notes.   Dungeon Master (GM): the creature shows some restraint at first but then comes maddeningly after roqar, with a look of lust in her eyes!   Dungeon Master (GM): yep, it's time to make Init rolls as the banshee, attacks!   Elizabeth K.: Dia Xiloscient, the Elf Wizard, gets ready to make an attack move! INITIATIVE ROLL: 23.16 Only 1 Initiative Roll shown to save space! ROUND 1 Farren Nidanas , it's now your turn!   Elizabeth K.: (I'm going to try to disable it, if you want to just use Farren's move to set up defense around Roqar and Avery.) (with hideous laughter)   Sirus: I don't think it's going to work. Banshees seem to be condition-immune to nearly everything.   Elizabeth K.: Oh, I guess they are immune to prone   Sirus: Actually, charm-immunity doesn't seem to matter. It won't prone her but it will stop her from attacking, it looks like.   Elizabeth K.: Charm person is in my spellbook, but not prepared. I think Rolo also has it?   Sirus: Charm person wouldn't work anyways I mean that there's nothing stating explicit immunity to THL   ROLO: dont have it prepared   Dungeon Master (GM): farren needs to make a wisdom save before he can attack her   Elizabeth K.: Would "The target must succeed on a Wisdom saving throw, or fall prone, becoming incapacitated and unable to stand up for the duration." have an affect on a creature immune to the prone condition?   Dungeon Master (GM): she's basically a ghost, no way for her to become prone   Sirus: I think it would still potentially work in the way of stopping her from  attacking Because too busy laughing hard   Elizabeth K.: (Even though it's from her laughing uncontrollably, not physically knocked over?)   Sirus: prone immune is prone immune   ROLO: magic missle force dam   Dungeon Master (GM): she will laugh of course but not be prone...just unable to do what a banshee does when attacking though everyone that attacks her will need to make a wisdom save first   Elizabeth K.: Ok, so it would have an affect if successful, to protect the party.   Sirus: Farren will move into position and take a dodge action, ready to protect the others from the Banshee's attack if the THL doesn't stick.   Dungeon Master (GM): ok, so where does he try to dodge to? do the wisdom save first   Sirus: He's not attacking.   Dungeon Master (GM): you still need to do it   Sirus: ...GM are you trying to have her do Horrifying Visage?   Dungeon Master (GM): could be   Sirus: That's supposed to be a full action on it's own usually, not a passive effect.
Dungeon Master (GM): since you must see her in order to dodge her   Sirus: or...or maybe not Ok alright. Let's see.   Dungeon Master (GM): it's a passive action believe me   Farren Nidanas: 21 WISDOM SAVE  (4) Farren Nidanas   Sirus: ayyyy big wizz   Dungeon Master (GM): ok so farren is not horrified   Sirus: Ok, dodge action taken for disadvantage on banshee attack, eot.   Dungeon Master (GM): where did he move to...move the token please   Sirus: the dodge action doesn't actually move the token.   Dungeon Master (GM): I’m sure he would dodge out of her way, as contact means a chilling touch!   : Farren Nidanas 's turn is done. Dia Xiloscient , it's now your turn!   Elizabeth K.: Tasha's Hideous Laughter Enchantment 1 Casting Time:  1 action Range:  30 ft Components:  V, S, M Duration:  Concentration 1 minute Banshee, that Dia Xiloscient, can see within range perceives everything as hilariously funny and falls into fits of laughter if this spell affects it. The target must succeed on a Wisdom saving throw, or fall prone, becoming incapacitated and unable to stand up for the duration. A creature with an Intelligence score of 4 or less isn’t affected. At the end of each of its turns, and each time it takes damage, the target can make another Wisdom saving throw. The target has advantage on the saving throw if it’s triggered by damage. On a success, the spell ends. SPELL SAVE DC : 15 SPELL SLOT LEVEL 12 OF 4 REMAINING Dungeon Master (GM): Wisdom Banshee Ability:  1  |  5 ha ha ha!   Sirus: oof, critical fail LAWL.   Dungeon Master (GM): ok, so she is laughing right now!   Sirus: idk I feel like Horrifying Visage shouldn't work if she's laughing. xD   Dungeon Master (GM): ok, it still will as it simply just creeps you out   Elizabeth K.: eot   Dungeon Master (GM): if you fail   Sirus: aight. : Dia Xiloscient 's turn is done. Banshee , it's now your turn!   Dungeon Master (GM): she can't do anything but laugh   Farren Nidanas the Elf Monk Says: "Juan, we could use your help right about now." : Banshee 's turn is done. Juan Denero , it's now your turn!   Dungeon Master (GM): someone pick him up   Sirus: Buddy left so that's on me.   ROLO: why he leave   Juan Denero: FOR DESCRIPTION ONLY Divine Favor Evocation 1 Casting Time:  1 bonus action Range:  Self Target:  Self Components:  V, S Duration:  Concentration Up to 1 minute Your prayer empowers you with divine radiance. Until the spell ends, your weapon attacks deal an extra 1d4 radiant damage on a hit. SPELL SAVE DC : 13   Dungeon Master (GM): I don't know...just checked...no message from him   ROLO: k   Sirus: That's all Juan can do until next turn actually. eot.   Dungeon Master (GM): alright and since the door would be blocking his view, no need to make the save : Juan Denero 's turn is done. Avery , it's now your turn!   Sirus: Avery...probably needs to make the wis save.   Dungeon Master (GM): avery needs to roll the wisdom save
11 | 9 WISDOM SAVE  (1) Avery   Sirus: dammit   Dungeon Master (GM): needed a 13   Sirus: spoop'd   Elizabeth K.: She's thrown because she's used to laughing herself with mockery, not seeing the enemy laugh.   Dungeon Master (GM): so Avery is frightened : Avery 's turn is done. Feralda , it's now your turn!   Sirus: hang on Avery can still do things   Elizabeth K.: You can still do stuff when frightened   Sirus: It's just that checks are disadvantaged. And she is gonna do something. She's gonna upcast Owl's Wisdom from Enhance Ability.   Dungeon Master (GM): She can't attack the banshee, normally this means you are running away but can shake it off each time it's your next turn she can do that while she tries to get away   Sirus: well since it's laughing, Avery is a bit un-nerved.Yeah she will. Giving it to Roqar, Juan and let's say Marcuria so they have better chance of clearing their own saves. ah wait no only 2 Juan and Marcy then.   Dungeon Master (GM): i don't think she would be thinking about others to cast a spell upon then while running away...she's protecting herself out of fear of the creature   Sirus: ...I'll agree only because it's a concentration spell.   Dungeon Master (GM): Feralda what is she doing now?   Sirus: I sorta wish I could've cast Heroism. That actually would've stopped it cold. hang on.   Dungeon Master (GM): ok   Elizabeth K.: Maybe casting Silence makes sense? Won't stop her from laughing (we just don't have to hear it), and might stop her from using any magic   Sirus: Lemme see what Feralda could do. Well apparently we're not letting Avery cast anything until she stops being afraid.   Dungeon Master (GM): right   Sirus: Is Horrifying Visage a spell's effect? Feralda could cast Dispel Magic to get rid of it if so.   Dia Xiloscient the Elf Wizard Says: "Shhh. There, there, Avery."   Avery the Half-Elf Bard Says: "K-keep that thing away..."   Dungeon Master (GM): It doesn't appear to be magical, it's just her looks, besides I'm sure it would note that a dispel could be used and it does not... you can't dispel how she looks   Sirus: Ok. Since she's no longer looking at the banshee she should get advantage to get it out of her system. When the next round starts.   Dungeon Master (GM): as i said she's running off until she makes a successful save   Sirus: Oops, read that backwards.   Dungeon Master (GM): Feralda could just stay put for now.   Sirus: Feralda is gonna use Owl Wisdom on Avery then so she can cure herself quicker. And upcast it to hit Juan with the same thing advantage on wis saves.   Dungeon Master (GM): ok   Feralda: Enhance Ability Transmutation 3 Casting Time:  1 action Range:  Touch Target:  A creature Components:  V, S, M (Fur or a feather from a beast) Duration:  Concentration Up to 1 hour Feralda touches Avery and bestow upon a magical enhancement. Choose one of the following effects; the target gains that effect until the spell ends. Bear’s Endurance. The target has advantage on Constitution checks. It also gains 2d6 temporary hit points, which are lost when the spell ends. Bull’s Strength. The target has advantage on Strength checks, and his or her carrying capacity doubles. Cat’s Grace. The target has advantage on Dexterity checks. It also doesn’t take damage from falling 20 feet or less if it isn’t incapacitated. Eagle’s Splendor. The target has advantage on Charisma checks. Fox’s Cunning. The target has advantage on Intelligence checks. Owl’s Wisdom. The target has advantage on Wisdom checks. At Higher Levels .  When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 3rd level or higher, you can target one additional creature for each slot level above 2nd. SPELL SLOT LEVEL 30 OF 2 REMAINING   Dungeon Master (GM): alright now   Sirus: and juan too Feralda stays put, eot.
Feralda 's turn is done. Marcuria , it's now your turn!   Sirus: Welp, Marcy is probably gonna get spooked too. She still doesn't have strong enough rage to ignore frighten effects. But let's get it over with.   Marcuria Violezi: 14 | 20 WISDOM SAVE  (0) Marcuria Violezi   Sirus: YO   Dungeon Master (GM): ok, she can proceed to do something here   Sirus: Marcy will keep an eye on things, since she lacks meaningful ways to harm ghosts still. If things get ugly she will rage and start tanking.   Marcuria the Human Barbarian Says: "..You don't scare me."   Sirus: eot. : Marcuria 's turn is done. Rolo , it's now your turn!   ROLO: could i cast magic missle at 2 lev   Dungeon Master (GM): yes and she would get to make a save against the laughter   Sirus: Can he cast it without line of sight?   Dungeon Master (GM): nope   Sirus: Then he needs to move into eyesight of banshee and wis save before attacking.   ROLO: iwould move up just asking if it was a good idea rolling 1d20 + 4( 20 )+4 = 24 wis save   Sirus: Pff.   Dungeon Master (GM): ok and you saved   Sirus: Of course the bad elf isn't scared of a wittle laughing banshee.   ROLO: Magic Missile Evocation 2 Casting Time:  1 action Range:  120 feet Target:  One or more creatures Components:  V, S Duration:  Instantaneous Rolo creates three glowing darts of magical force. Each dart hits a creature of your choice that you can see within range. A dart deals 1d4 + 1 force damage to its target:  4   5   2 The darts all strike simultaneously, and you can direct them to hit one creature or several. At Higher Levels .  When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 2nd level or higher, the spell creates one more dart for each slot level above 1st. SPELL SAVE DC : 14 SPELL SLOT LEVEL 20 OF 3 REMAINING   Sirus: 11 damage. Nice.   ROLO: im done   Dungeon Master (GM): you get another missile if still doing 2nd level casting so roll it's damage   ROLO: rolling 1d4( 1 ) = 1   Dungeon Master (GM): so 2   ROLO: plus 1 : Rolo 's turn is done. Roqar , it's now your turn!   ROLO: sorry   Sirus: Roqar does wis save now.   Roqar: 10 | 16 WISDOM SAVE  (-1) Roqar   Sirus: spoop'd.   Dungeon Master (GM): she is frightened and runs away any 2nd attacks from anyone?   Sirus: Nope. However, I believe that Avery can redo wisdom save with advantage.   Dungeon Master (GM): next round   Sirus: Right right.   Dungeon Master (GM): another figure comes through the door to the north west now   Marcuria the Human Barbarian Says: "Tourn....don't suppose you know who this banshee is..?"   Taris the Revenant Says: "What is going on here! Leave my family and I alone!" Revenant, the , gets ready to make an attack move! INITIATIVE ROLL: 16.14 : Round 2 Roqar 's turn is done. Farren Nidanas , it's now your turn!   Marcuria the Human Barbarian Says: "....Crap..."   Elizabeth K.: If I minor illusion a box on the banshee's head, will that give the team advantage on saves?   Dungeon Master (GM): [he does not see what the party is dealing with yet]   Marcuria the Human Barbarian Says: "We're being attacked for no reason is what!"   ROLO: i can do that   Marcuria the Human Barbarian Says: "No, damnit...we need to talk.."   Dungeon Master (GM): ok, you could do that illusion
ROLO: yes on my turn   Sirus: So the revenant is moving in to attack, and Roqar is super exposed. Hoo boy.   Elizabeth K.: Your magic missle is one of the few things that does full damage to a banshee. You keep fighting it, and leave debuffs to protect the team to me.   Sirus: That said if you keep doing that, the paladin is gonna ram his sword up our rear ends.   ROLO: k np   Sirus: Btw what's Tourne doing right about now?   Elizabeth K.: Yeah. Not sure if we can stall him another round.   ROLO: im sorry i thoght we were fighting it   Sirus: Only because it attacked us.   Dungeon Master (GM): ok Tourne is the shadow by Roqar, it is just standing there watching all of this currently   Sirus: I would think they might get a bit more active with their father about to stride in there and attack. But ok.   Elizabeth K.: What about the older brother (revenant next to Marcy)?   Dungeon Master (GM): Durnin the revenant is currently watching with a confused look on his face as if not knowing what to do   Farren Nidanas the Elf Monk Says: "It's not too late to settle this peacefully, even now..."   Elizabeth K.: Hmmm, so if we rush to attack the father, he might join the fight against us. We need to make an honest effort to persuade the father or we'll have 4 enemies. . . .   Sirus: Farren is going to not attack the banshee since it's still laughing up a storm and turn his attention to the paladin revenant, making a relatively non-threatening gesture.   Farren Nidanas the Elf Monk Says: "We are here to bring peace, not destruction."   Taris the Revenant Says: "Then explain yourselves now, why is my wife laughing so loudly?!"   Dia Xiloscient the Elf Wizard Says: "We just wanted to stop her from attacking us. The laughter is doing her no harm."   Farren Nidanas the Elf Monk Says: "Yes. It'll wear off soon either way. She lashed out first."   Taris the Revenant Says: "Protect yourself don't let these interlopers interfer!" Revenant, the , gets ready to make an attack move! INITIATIVE ROLL: 13.14 Shadow, the , gets ready to make an attack move! INITIATIVE ROLL: 3.14   Farren Nidanas the Elf Monk Says: "Don't any of you want to rest? See reason, before it is too late!"   Taris the Revenant Says: "I will rest when you are gone!"   Farren Nidanas the Elf Monk Says: "No you won't. Not until you seek to absolve yourself with those you have forsaken."   Sirus: eot btw : Farren Nidanas 's turn is done. Dia Xiloscient , it's now your turn!   Taris the Revenant Says: "grunts at Farren's remark"   Avery the Half-Elf bard Says: "P-please. W-we should j-just go...it's not g-gonna work..."   Dungeon Master (GM): ok, noted   Feralda the Elf Wizard Says: "Steel yourself, Avery. Now is not the time to be consumed by your fears."   Dungeon Master (GM): avery would be out of the room heck when it's her turn she should be 60 ft way by then   Elizabeth K.: DC15 Dexterity   Save A 5-foot-diameter sphere of fire appears in an unoccupied space of your choice within range and lasts for the duration. Any creature that ends its turn within 5 feet of the sphere must make a Dexterity saving throw. The creature takes 2d6 fire damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one. As a bonus action, you can move the sphere up to 30 feet. If you ram the sphere into a creature, that creature must make the saving throw against the sphere’s damage, and the sphere stops moving this turn. When you move the sphere, you can direct it over barriers up to 5 feet tall and jump it across pits up to 10 feet wide. The sphere ignites flammable objects not being worn or carried, and it sheds bright light in a 20-foot radius and dim light for an additional 20 feet. At Higher Levels: When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 3rd level or higher, the damage increases by 1d6 for each slot level above 2nd. 4 fire 60 feet Flaming Sphere Dia Xiloscient SPELL SLOT LEVEL 22 OF 3 REMAINING   Sirus: So we're just doing violence then?   Dungeon Master (GM): ok, where is Dia aiming the sphere?   Dia Xiloscient the Elf Wizard Says: "We don't mean you any harm, but we will defend ourselves." Not hitting anyone yet, but preparing the flaming sphere to cover a possible escape or do damage later.   Taris the Revenant Says: "But if you harm my wife or children I will have no choice but to act!"   Marcuria the Human Barbarian Says: "Make sure they don't attack us, and we won't attack them!" Says: "Simple as that!"   Dia Xiloscient the Elf Wizard Says: "We have only talked to your children, and only defended ourselves from your wife."   Durnin the Revenant Says: "I think Mom could not control herself Dad! It is because of what she has become, like we have changed!"
Feralda the Elf Wizard Says: "Quite. Your children have taken this in a far more level-headed fashion...."   Taris the Revenant grimmances in anger   Elizabeth K.: eot   Taris the Revenant Says: "I am sorry I have brought this curse down upon you all. It should not be like this!" : Dia Xiloscient 's turn is done. Banshee , it's now your turn!   Dungeon Master (GM): Wisdom Banshee Ability:  1  |  3 she continues to laugh away   Sirus: WEW double critical fail. : Banshee 's turn is done. Juan Denero , it's now your turn!   Juan Denero the Human Cleric Says: "...Let us help you. You have suffered greatly. It is not too late to be absolved, to finally have your peace, and move on to the afterlife."   Elizabeth K.: This display is hilarious.   ROLO: yep   Dungeon Master (GM): do a persuasion check   Juan Denero: 14 | 8 PERSUASION  (0) Juan Denero   Sirus: 14. Not terrible for a +0 I feel like it should be extra-poignant coming out of Juan since he's literally a cleric. Someone with connection to a god   Dungeon Master (GM): i will let it work   Sirus: yey   Taris the Revenant Says: "To help us you must lift this curse. Which means that I must be slain!" any response to that?   Dia Xiloscient the Elf Wizard Says: "Are you willing to make that ultimate sacrifice for the good of your family?"   Farren Nidanas the Elf Monk Says: "So you mean to say that if you fall in battle...that the curse will lift, and your family can pass on with you to the afterlife?"   ROLO: mumbles to myself sacrifice   Dungeon Master (GM): hmm, I think i will roll an intelligence check on that with a DC of 13.....If it's a success...he will let you slay him Intelligence Revenant Ability:  18  |  2   Sirus: wew that's a success.   Taris the Revenant Says: "Very well, I will lay down my sword and bow before you."   Marcuria the Human Barbarian Says: "What are you...."   Juan Denero the Human Cleric Says: "I understand..."   Sirus: I guess it's only fitting that Juan do the honors.   Dungeon Master (GM): ok, so he actually kneels down to one knee setting his sword on the floor then bows his head.   Sirus: Juan will move over to Taris then.   ROLO: do want help   Dungeon Master (GM): ok   Juan Denero the Human Cleric Says: "No. Thank you. I think this is something I should take care of."   ROLO: i have experence as u wish   Juan Denero the Human Cleric Says: "As do I...." Picks up Taris's sword, carefully hefting it and muttering a short prayer before turning to Taris. Says: "May your absolution come at the tip of your own blade."   Sirus: and then Juan will slay Taris with the sword.   Dungeon Master (GM): you can describe how you do that   Sirus: Right. One moment.   Dungeon Master (GM): head chopped off? through the heart?   Sirus: I'm working on it. Just gimme a min   Dungeon Master (GM): ok   Juan Denero the Human Cleric Juan focuses the radiance of Bhaal into Taris's sword before quickly ramming the sword clean through Taris's heart, burying it as far as it would go into his chest, coupling the radiant magic he was conjuring to deal a quick and effective deathblow, leaving the blade stuck inside Taris.   Dungeon Master (GM): ok Taris goes limp and drops to the floor on his left side clutching the swordhandle then a moment later, he begins to fade away as do to the others   Elizabeth K.: (and his wife laughs as he dies)   Sirus: She's laughing because she's finally free.   Dungeon Master (GM): the banshee stops laughing as she fades away as well!
Juan Denero the Human Cleric drops down onto one knee, praying silently and fervently to Bhaal for a few moments.   Marcuria the Human Barbarian Says: "....Rest in peace....at least you get to do that much..."   Dungeon Master (GM): a few moments later the family again appears before the party, now looking as they appeared in life   Marcuria the Human Barbarian Says: "....That's it then...?"   Roqar the Elf Rogue Says: "We did it"   Seleena the Banshee Says: "We thank you for lifting this curse upon us and our home and must now move on to our new life." you all note that the air no longer feels cold here.   ROLO: any books worthy of spells   Marcuria the Human Barbarian Says: "...I guess it was worth it, in the end....I didn't get so lucky as you all did. I'm still stuck with my curse. Best of providence's grace to you all."   Dungeon Master (GM): digging through some of them, none appear to be spell books of any sort, really nothing in the study of magics here.   ROLO: ty   Dungeon Master (GM): the family then fades away from view   ROLO: is the sword stiil there   Dungeon Master (GM): ok do you wish to retrieve those last two pieces of parchment? in the green house   Sirus: Oh ah   Roqar: Yesa   Sirus: Is the fear effect over? Now that they're gone?   Berbalang ("Kenis") Says: "Eh, may I have Taris' blade now?"   yes the fear effect is gone   Elizabeth K.: Maybe Rolo can Identify the blade, and we'll see if the information is enough to please Kenis?   ROLO: yes ican indentify sword   Avery the Half-Elf Bard Takes a few deep breaths, trying to get a hold of herself.   ROLO: as a ritual   Sirus: I think we probably shouldn't let Kenis take the sword home with him. It should probably stay here. Out of respect for Taris.   Dungeon Master (GM): all of the diary pages should be visible in a folder called diary pages in the havenfall manor folder   Elizabeth K.: (Unless it's particularly good for dragon slaying, then it might come with us)   Berbalang ("Kenis") Says: "looking a bit disappointed, "I guess I could let Rolo do that yes.""   Marcuria the Human Barbarian Says: "All due respect...fiends haven't exactly proven to be trustworthy on the whole...."   ROLO: if we have time i cast identify on the sword   Dia Xiloscient the Elf Wizard Says: "Don't worry, Avery, they've all found peace now."   Dungeon Master (GM): you would need to rest after that so maybe wait ...do you all what to look in the chapel?   Juan Denero the Human Cleric finishes his prayer and stands up, heading back to the others.   Sirus: Let's settle things away with Kenis, then we check the chapel, then end session.   Dungeon Master (GM): I assume Juan now has the sword ok   Sirus: Oh. If Taris's body disappeared as well then I guess?   ROLO: if juan would allow me too   Sirus: Otherwise it's buried in Taris's body   Dungeon Master (GM): Taris’s body is not in the library, but the other's bodies are still here in the library and in the green house   Sirus: Then yeah, Juan has the sword and will let Rolo identify it   Elizabeth K.: I cast Tiny Hut as a ritual in the chapel, so we're extra safe when we sleep for the night.   Dungeon Master (GM): ok that is cetainly doable   ROLO: ty   Dungeon Master (GM): ok here is the chapel description: This appears to be a chapel that now lies in ruins; on the left wall, the symbol of Lliira; a triangle of three six pointed stars. In the center, and the largest symbol, Helm, the god of protection, with a staring eye on an upright left gauntlet. Finally on the right, the symbol of Mielikki the goddess of forests symbolized in a painting of a unicorn’s head. All of the paintings have been purposely and violently scratched out. The entire chapel is in a state of disarray with the pews knocked over or broken. At the center of the chapel sits a once glorious chair, now broken and shattered. Lord Tari’s remains are near the altar.   ROLO: i like to ask after if I could copy lemonds tiny hut from your spell book into mine?   Elizabeth K.: Can we do that? If so, can I copy Counterspell from yours?   ROLO: yes if we are allowed   Elizabeth K.: DM?   ROLO: i am a scribe   Dungeon Master (GM): yes you can do that of course   ROLO: during downtime
Elizabeth K.: Sweet. Btw, next level I get an ability that deals more damage and charges when I use Counterspell or Dispel Magic, so I'm going to have them always prepared. After level 6.   Dungeon Master (GM): alright   Sirus: next level, Marcy can use her beast features to get through magic resistances.   ROLO: how long to copy ?   Dungeon Master (GM): ok so you cast the tiny hut and rest in the chapel over night   Sirus: I guess that's the session then? Don't forget we're identifying the sword As well   ROLO: ty   Dungeon Master (GM): Yea we can end the session here with Rolo ID'ing the sword   ROLO: ty great time ty all   Elizabeth K.: Abjuration 3 Components:  V, S, M SPELL SAVE DC : 15 SPELL SLOT LEVEL 31 OF 2 REMAINING   ROLO: sweet   Roqar: Marks Paly off her list  with a slight smile   ROLO: looking forward to this again   Dungeon Master (GM): ok, I should check the actual module for the sword info if any...because what is on the sheet only has that it does an extra 1d4 necrotic damage   ROLO: nice   Dungeon Master (GM): so i will post that in the weekly summary what i find...also if the older brother's sword has anything to offer   ROLO: cool ty   Dungeon Master (GM): Ok, folks thanks for Playing today and see you all next week!   Elizabeth K.: Great session!
