If you need to test the waters and see how a session goes for you, by all means. All I ask is that you show up on time each week (or let me know beforehand when you cannot). This is a free game, with the goals being enjoyment for everyone and hopefully the formation of a long-term group, or at least with some people. (1 slot open) We are playing Curse of Strahd weekly on Tuesdays at 5pm Pacific. We have played 7 sessions already and are at level 6. The current party consists of: - A Dwarven Beast Master Ranger (Tasha's Version) - A Half Elven Eloquence Bard - A Reborn Phantom Rogue - A Tiefling Vengeance Paladin/Hexblade I've played with a couple of the players for a long time, and a couple for only a month or so. This isn't a tight-knit group that is hard to fit into, newer players are welcome to apply but you need to know how to pilot your character yourself and operate Roll20 without asking how to roll, etc. I'm of course willing to help with things you aren't familiar with or are unclear on, nobody knows everything. We're a pretty chill bunch, and are pretty into the setting and world. A few things about this game to give you an idea if it's right for you: - We run the game fairly rules-as-written, I'm very familiar with the rules of 5E and we stick to those guidelines, exceptions can occur on occasion but we aren't running a casual rule of cool campaign. - Homebrew is very limited, expect not to be able to use it, also only races that fit in the setting are permitted (no Eberron, MTG, Feywild UA, etc). - No Artificers (don't exist in-universe). - We use 27-point buy, and you can move one racial score increase to another ability score or swap them with eachother. Characters should fit the gothic-horror tone and not be too jarring, you can be a positive non-edgy character, but it should still fit the world. - I have a list of homebrew rules/tweaks, but some examples are: (Reduced) Variant Encumbrance Pathfinder distance on grids (every second diagonal is doubled) Death saves are rolled in secret You cannot long rest unless you are in a safe area Potions always heal for their maximum amount etc You don't have to have a character in mind when you apply, making a character to fit the world/setting or the party composition is more than fine, and I'd be happy to work with you on a personal hook or driving factor to ensure your character is motivated to progress in the campaign. This is a difficult campaign, the deadliest levels are over with but there is still plenty of danger if you tread in some areas too early. Our group is lighthearted out of character, but in-character the tone is fairly serious and it's expected that you aren't making silly real-world immersion breaking references etc. We play on my Discord server and obviously use Roll20.
