Cleric – Human - Sheila - Daniel M.   Game Summary for Sunday Evening (06/06/2021): Opening Scene: It is now 59 days into the adventure (since setting off in the Belle Venture), and It is now:  8:40 am on September 21st (Day 51 on the Isle of Dread). The battle continues with the guards inside of the wizard Horan’s compound! Combat Round #02: Xilicien, fires the Magic Missiles spell at Bugbear #01, dealing 14 total force damage and defeating him! Carnivrous Ape #02, bites Lord Cromther for 8 damage! Yaun-Ti Abomination #01, rolls a critical hit of 20 for full damage of 8 on Bullywug frogman #02, defeating him! Bugbear #02, throws a throwing axe at Lord Cromther, missing him! Bullywug #03, missed YT Abomination #01, with the spear! YT Abomination prisoner, strikes Bullywug #03 for 5 damage, defeating him! Carnivorous Ape #01, rolls a critical fail of 1 and almost went off-balance but stays on his feet! Bullywug #01, missed YT Abomination prisoner with the spear! Bullywug #04, hops closer to the combat! Camlin, slashed Bugbear #02 with the magical +1 Calenyanda long sword for 10 damage! Allowishis’s, sleep arrow goes wide of Carnivorous Ape #01! Bullywug #03-H11b jumps from the compound’s wall down to the ground! Sheila, pounds Carnivorous Ape #01 with the magical +2 footman’s mace for 7 damage! Lord Cromther, rolls a critical hit of 20, resulting in double damage of 20 on Carnivorous ape #02!   2nd Attacks for Round #02: Camlin, missed Bugbear #02 for 11 damage with the +1 Calenyanda long sword! Allowishis, slashed Carnivorous Ape #01 with the pixie sword using her magical gauntlets of fencing, dealing 15 damage and defeating the ape! Lord Cromther, missed Carnivorous Ape #02, with the two-handed sword!   Combat Round #03: Xilicien, clobbers Carnivorous Ape #01 with the magical Staff of Striking, expending 3 charges and dealing 11 damage, defeating the ape! Yaun-Ti Abomination #01, moves to rear of the house to see Tasloi guards along the wall! Bugbear #02, missed Camlin with the fauchard! YT Abomination prisoner, missed Bullywug #01 with the scimitar! Bullywug #01, missed YT Abomination prisoner with the spear! Bullywug #04, missed Camlin with the spear! Camlin, slashed Bullywug #04 for 17 damage with the +1 Calenyanda long sword, defeating him! Allowishis, rolls a criticial hit of 20, the result is a thumb is removed and 15 damage to Bugbear #02, defeating him! Bullywug #03, hops over to Camlin and missed him with the spear! Sheila, stays put for now. Lord Cromther, slashed Bullywug #03 for 6 damage with the two-handed sword, defeating him!   Combat Round #04: Xilicien, fires the Magic Missiles spell, sending 4 missiles into Bullywug #01 for 14 total force damage and defeating him! End of Combat! One tasloi guard did toss a javelin at the Yuan-Ti Abomination prisoner , which went way wide. The tasloi are supposed to now be allies with the adventurers, mongrelmen and grippli frogmen. The adventurers now move on Horan’s home while one Yaun-Ti abomination keeps watch at the back and the other the front porch. Allowishis tries to pick open the lock on the front door, rolling an 80% needing ≤ 47%, she could not do so! Xilicien, then casts the Knock spell to open the door and it does come open! Inside can be seen a misty fog, limiting view to about 10 ft. Allowishis, tries to cast Dispel Magic into the fog with a 40% chance of doing so but rolls a 66% and the fog continues to shroud the inside of the house! Allowishis then casts the Dancing Lights spell, hoping the it helps visibility a little. Then Sheila tries to Dispel Magic rolling a 34% needing ≤ 40% she was successful and the fog clears away to reveal the living room area! In the center of the wood floor is a square, stone fire pit. In the ceiling above is a smoke hole. Attached to an iron rod frame over the pit is a teakettle-like pot with a large handle. About the room are several rice straw mats, two low tables and a built-in shelf with several statuettes. Allowishis, examines a cabinet first, checking for a trap rolling 85% needing ≤ 40% she did not find one. When she reaches to grab a statuette from the cabinet, it’s mouth suddenly animates and shouts, “Help! Help! Save Us! Save Us!”, then every other loose object in the room repeats the alarm! Sheila, casts Detect Magic to see that every loose object here emanates a magical aura! Allowishis tries to use ESP on the statue, but draws a blank as it has no mind. Meanwhile, a barbarian fellow named Regnom Stilltaker, sees that Horan’s heavily guard compound, has its front main gates wide open and several dead guards that have fallen from the wall laying on the ground  so he proceeds inside out of curiosity, to see what is going on and maybe lend a hand. Spotting the dead leopards, bullywugs and bugbears on the grounds inside, he peers around the corner where the front porch is and spots a Yuan-Ti Abomination, watching from the front steps. Regnom decides to make himself visible even he doesn’t like their bad magics and ask the yuan-ti what is going on. The abomination informs him that his friends and him had raided the compound and have entered the house and advised Regnom to leave as Horan’s magics are even more powerful than his. The Yuan-Ti informs Regnom another yuan-ti is watching the back of the house and Regnom proceeds to go inside, spotting Xilicien by the opened front door and introducing himself. Regnom asks Xilicien what is going on here and Xilicien tells him, “An Investigation. Who are you”? Regnom tells Xilicien he already told him, when he introduced himself, walking in.
Xilicien says, “Should we trust this guy”? Sheila introduced herself and tells Regnom that they are trying to stop the demon lord Sertrous from coming back to this plane, and if he would join them. Regnom says, “Where I am from trust is earned. I will join your mission. Perhaps in time we too can call each other friend”. Sheila says, “(Regnom) came in from the outside, he’s dressed as a warrior, and he’s human, I say he’s trustworthy”. Camllin readies his Foeseeker long bow as Allowishis,  first checks to see if there is a trap on the first door inside the house. Rolling a 56% needing ≤ 40%, she did not find one, so she proceeds to slide it open to reveal: This room contains large bags, hanging baskets of dried fruits and herbs, and wooden tubs filled with unusual pickled foods (plums, vegetables, etc.) Allowishis says, “Snack time”,  and Regnom wonders where the voice is coming from. Allowishis says, “Are you hungry? Maybe you should stock up while you have the chance”. The giggles.  Regnom looks around north of him inside the storage room but sees no one. Sheila says, “You’re being pranked by a pixie, she’s usually invisible to most eyes”. Regnom says, “Well then I suppose you are right. I should stock up on some food! I have heard pickled plums are very good.” The adventurers start to cautiously go up a hallway in the middle of the place, Allowishis, leading the way. Allowishis, informs of a door on the west all at the hallway’s end and that it also turns east there, an opening visible at the far end of the south wall. As Allowishis goes to slide open the door on the far end of the hall’s west wall, she is startled by sudden barking from a dog which she cannot see! The invisible, magical faithful hound, had tried to pounce upon Allowishis, but she moved just enough when starting to open the door that it missed her with its bite! Allowishis starts flailing about with her pixie sword  to no avail and Sheila casted the Spiritual Hammer spell,  which lasts 7 rounds, readying for an attack. Regnom tries to hit the invisible faithful hound and missed, fumbling in the process that he almost trips up from the wild swing he took!   And that concludes today’s Adventure Gaming Session!
