[LFP][5e][EST][18+][Free][Discord][LGBTQ+ Safe]The Young and the Fearless Homebrew Campaign

1624399742

Edited 1624473187
Campaign: The Young and the Fearless Hi there, I’m Unicor, the prospective DM! I want to run a campaign set in my homebrew world but the people I regularly play with are either in their own games or have too many! So I’m looking for 4/5 players to run with. Who am I : I am a DM who has been dming for about a year, usually with oneshots or “mini campaigns”. I generally prefer RP focused and story driven campaigns but I try to balance with combat in order to keep things fresh and engaged. I am 26, go by she/her or they/them, and am currently a full time university student. I will be graduating this winter and then will be working. My studies are in English and Philosophy, so you will often see me post musings about the world, headcanons, or even small writing snippets in some of the side channels! I have a lot of ideas in my head and I need to get them out one way or the other. Players I’m looking for: Players who aren’t afraid to get involved with roleplay and have creative drives. I might drop little character building ideas, like favorite foods/colors or give prompts for potential text rp that can be done on your own time/speed! The more I know about your characters, the better I can tailor my writing for them. 18+ ONLY! I like to explore mature topics (if my players are comfortable with it) and do not want to currently play with underaged players. I generally always have an art channel for anything from stick figures to picrew avatars to showing your own art! I especially use it for memes about the campaign lol I would also prefer players who have decent mics and internet for the sake of our ears and lag. Some Rules: I am a bi-ace, gender fluid person myself and my servers are ALWAYS lgbtq+ safe. I don’t put up with bigotry of any kind or hate speech. If you cannot make it to a game PLEASE TELL ME. I understand things can happen last minute, all I ask is at the least a head’s up. I want to keep a weekly schedule that should be on the same day and same time so there’s no frustrating scheduling to worry over last minute. If a player can’t make it to the game and it’s not in the middle of battle, I’ll have a NPC ready to go to keep the party relatively balanced and so I don’t have to run a PC sheet. If more than one player can’t make it, we’ll hold a vote to determine if we should play or postpone the session. On the DM side, I’ll come up with a reason your PC isn’t there which can range from being on a different job or even starting a quest line if you know you can’t make it for a couple sessions in a row. The NPC’s will be recurring characters instead of one-offs. I record using a Craig bot and often use Groovy. I don’t post the recordings anywhere publicly as it’s for posterity and my version of note taking. I usually do light editing and then convert to mp3, where I then upload it to a shared Google drive for everyone. Sometimes Craig doesn’t work 100%, so beware. I generally play on Roll20 since that’s what I’m familiar with but I also use dndbeyond. If needed, I can make a campaign on there and turn on content sharing since I have most of the digital sourcebooks. The World: Welcome to Antstal, a country situated on the far upper coast. Antstal is populated by a variety of races, though half-human and mixed race variants are extremely common. They primarily worship the Norse pantheon. It’s largely based on Normandy with a generous helping of Norse culture and mythology thrown in. I have a whole google doc that’s permanently in WIP status because I keep adding more to it that I will share with my players. It has all kinds of information that may not mean much, but is important to me. The campaign : You are a party of newly promoted apprentices from Freseau! Though you have not been accepted into a guild, you have been assigned a team and will be required to take on quests in order to become minted adventurers. Though there have been some rumblings of unrest with the ruling family and a rash of targeted attacks in other cities from marauders. Whispers of unease tinge the air but no one can really say why for sure. How to apply: Please fill out the following form for essential deets and tell me a little about yourself! Age: Pronouns: Play Style: Possible Character to play: Tell me something fun: EDIT @ 6/23/21: Applications are closed! :D thank you to everyone who applied!
Name: JD Age: 27 Pronouns: He/Him Time Zone: CST (Minnesota) Best days would be Wednesday/Thursday Evenings after 5pm CST or anytime on Sundays Experience with TTRPGs: been a player for 5-6 years, recently dabbled in DMing Style of Play: RP focused. In combat I usually like to be the healer/support or the tank. Little about myself: Bisexual and engaged (getting married in august) I have two cats and a dog and I always comission art for D&D! Funniest TTRPG Moment: When my Gunslinger had the brilliant idea of making a hot air balloon out of drapes and a rowboat to escape a falling city (it worked sort of) Most Hype TTRPG Moment: when my cleric rolled a Nat20 on his death save to come back with 1hp to take down the lich with a guiding bolt. Last one standing in a 6 boss gauntlet. Saddest TTRPG Moment: When my old Paladin met the ghost of a little girl he failed to save and she forgave him. He later revived her and adopted her as his own daughter and spoiled her silly. Potential Characters: I have a DMs Guild Warlock Patron I would love to try, otherwise any sort of cleric is my usual jam :) Trying a Wizard could be a great time too! I usually wait until meeting the group to finalize things!

Hi Unicor! My name is Molly, and I have a little group (currently of 3 including myself; Adela and Robin are the others) that recently had a separation from our DM. We are looking to pick back up, but we need a DM in order to do so, as we are players. I have experience, but the other two in my party have only done one session. Based on the information provided above, I think you'd be a GREAT fit for us! My Discord handle is m0lly.m00n#7332; feel free to reach out at any time if you think we'd be a good fit for you as well! Thank you for the opportunity! I'm looking forward to (hopefully) hearing from you soon! Age: 18 (R), 20 (M), and 21 (A) Pronouns: they/them (R, M), she/her (A) Play Style: I (M) am somewhat experienced; I have another group I play with my chosen family. I tend to play a little of everything, as I like to experiment with characters. I've played a Satyr and Tiefling Bard, a Mycanid Barbarian, and currently play a Changeling* Druid. With my characters, I like to tell a story, if that makes sense. I like to get into their skin and constantly ask myself "what would THIS CHARACTER do?". I personally prefer more RP -heavy games with puzzles and alternatives to combat, but my other campaign is VERY combat-heavy, so it's easy to do both. As for my fellow party members, they have only played the one session, as I've mentioned, so it's hard to say. I personally think they both bring different things to the table, and though they're new, we have a great party balance and dynamic, despite only playing together as people and characters once. Possible Character to play: I have a black lightning Dragonborn Rouge ready to go. Tell me something fun: The character I intend to play is a vegetarian, and her favorite food is corn. As for a little about me: I have a lot of very different interests, however, I can say consuming and analyzing queer media has been most of what I've been doing in my free time. I just finished watching The Owl House for the second time, and am counting down the days until Saturday when the new episode of S2 airs, and am almost done my 10th way through She-Ra and The Princesses of Power. I like to color, and have over 500 markers (I wish this was an exaggeration). I love to shop and love fashion and interior design as well!
My name is Cable age 20 he/him I like to play with RP focus and team focus, meaning I like playing support roles and such, whether that means support through combat or support through conversation. I have a lot of different character ideas that I juggle around, so I'm more than happy to play any specific role that the party would need of me. I am however fond of casters in particular. And lastly for something fun, I'm also a uni student! Part time currently, though. I study geography and make maps in my free time of my own homebrew setting :). I'd be delighted to join if you'd have me :D
Hey I may be interested in joining this group. My name's Chris (he/him/his), I'm 26, and I've been playing TTRPGs for about 3 years. I tend to do more RP than fighting but I'm always open to do whatever as long as I can be useful to the party. I'm thinking of making either a rogue or ranger but like JD said I like to see what works best with the group before solidifying my idea. I also tend to come up with my personality and backstory after getting to know the world and a general idea of what we'll be doing. And a completely unrelated fun fact is that the guy who invented frisbees was cremated and turned into a frisbee after his death
Hello! My name is Adela and I am a pretty new player, but I am eager to learn and have fun! You'll noticed Molly mentioned me in their comment! I figured I'd add my own comment to answer your questions🧡 Age: 21 Pronouns: she/her Play Style: can't say I'm totally sure yet, but im really drawn to the rp aspect of dnd, but I also enjoy combat encounters! I've been practicing role-playing a lot so I can really get into my characters head and improve my character interactions! As person I can say I'm really laid back and friendly. I want to make sure others are having fun and arr comfortable, and I'd be more then willing to dial it up or dial it back depending on the energy I get from others <3 Possible Character to play: I have a tiefling rogue ready to go~ Tell me something fun: my character can't stand sleeves. Like they make her feel so uncomfortable and restricted she would 100% rip the sleeves off of a fancy outfit and just walk around like that.

Age: 21 Pronouns: He/Him Play Style: I like to play everything through my characters as though they were a lens. I like to keep things light and make a lot of jokes, but I'm not afraid to play a character seriously. Possible Character to Play: A young human wizard from a small village. He was the son of the local carpenter, and became obsessed with magic when he was sent to repair the old mage from the edge of town's roof. The wizard showed him magic and from then on the boy hounded the old man to teach him. The old wizard refuse for a while, but the child's enthusiasm wore him down quickly. He taught the boy for a few years until he passed in his sleep during a terrible winter. The young man inherited a spellbook from his master and has set out to quench his thirst for all things magical. My inspiration for the character is Ged from a Wizard of Earth Sea. Particularly from the first book since he's a young prodigy, arrogant (slightly) in his power, and from humble origins. The character is obsessed with magic and, though he won't admit it to himself, he looks down on his simple hometown and things like it. He thinks that magic will raise him to a higher status in his youthful arrogance. Though it mostly comes from a place of insecurity. Tell me something fun: I have been an avid reader since middle school and write small small stories in my spare time, though I know they're nothing fantastic. Preferred times to play would be weekends or Friday, but I'm flexible.
My name is Chris. I am 22 years old. My pronouns are he/him. I like to have good roleplay in the games and the chances to interact with the other players and the world around us. I usually enjoy playing frontline characters in a fight and being a damage dealer while being tanky to protect the magic casters in the backline. I currently have an idea to play a Blood Hunter Human that I have been wanting to try out, although I know some DM's would not want to run that because it is not considered official material. I would also want to try out a Dragonborn Paladin if you did not want to run the Blood Hunter. I am currently a college student majoring in psychology and have been playing dnd for a little over a year. My favorite moment was when me and my party were travelling through hell and set up a fight club with some devils. My preferred time to play would be Monday or Tuesday night although I do have some flexibility.
Age: 24 Pronouns: He/Him Play Style: Big roleplayer, I enjoy every single aspect of the game, but i always try to make a roleplaying situtation out of everything Possible Character to play: I have a lot of character ideas, but if i have to select only one i would select a Bard named Matthew Edelhain, an aspiring glamour bard who meet a goddess of beauty in person and they both fell in love, but the godess mother found out and banned him from the feywild. He is on a mision to became worthy to this fey queen and get with his love one for eternety. He is a total romantic, and comppared to a lot of other bards, his eyes are only for his girl. He has been a musician for all his life, being beauty the pilar of his interpretations and everything he trys to portrait. Tell me something fun: Hi my name is Raul, but my friends call me Hypno, I´m a Bisexual who is in an straight relationship, I'm a big geek, and fantasy is my favorite genre. I love D&D and I´m really looking foward to play. But i have a little secret... English is not my first language and I´m trying to find a group to practice my english while i have fun plaing D&D. I know this would not became a problem, and it will definitily become a Quirk/trait of my character.
Greetings - This sounds like a fun campaign, and I would like to throw my hat in the ring. Please let me know if I make the cut and where to go next to meet up with fellow Feseau guild interns! Age / Pronouns: 31 / He-Him Game Style: I lean towards the RP side of the game but am always up for some combat catharsis thrown in. I like the mix you talked about in your original post, Unicor, which is what brought me here to post. I've been playing D&D for about 6 years, mostly as a DM for a group I run on Sundays (so hoping this group meets on a different day). I have been looking for a chance to be a player again for about a month since another group I was playing in ended. When playing, I use Roll20 & Discord. I have not used DnD Beyond before, but would be willing to learn. Possible Character: The Norse setting has me thinking human fighter or human rogue, but I am flexible based on the rest of the group dynamics. I would really appreciate a session zero before I commit to a choice because I like to build around a personality that would play well with the team. Something Fun: I have a 4-year-old son that loves tickles and cuddling. The sound of his laugh is the most beautiful thing I have ever heard.

Age: 25 Pronouns: He/they Playstyle: really enjoy both the RP and Combat aspects of D&D and trying to fuse them together. I see D&D as a collaborative storytelling experience and I love being apart of that when it comes to interacting with the world, each other as players, as well as creating a character and backstory that's dynamic and weaves itself into the story. I'm not often the "face" of the party but I like filling a role that meshes with the party like a different character outlook/attitude or a class that isn't being played. I do like having my own little moments in the spotlight from time to time though as I think most players do. Character Ideas: fairly new to D&D (only been playing for a little over a year) so a lot of classes still to play. Would love to try a Cleric or a Fighter next but certainly am flexible. a lil something interesting: I graduated about a year ago from school as a Graphic Designer, would like to run a lil gig around the D&D hobby someday, I recently got into mini painting/collecting (exciting I know) and I'm a pretty big lore nerd for D&D, 40k and some other stuff! Would love to play at your table! seems like a great setting and would be some awesome vibes! Also as far as availability goes I'm free outside of Wednesday & Thursday.

Hey hey! I'm Chazz (he/him) and I am 19! When it comes to the elements of the game, I like the Role playing aspect a little bit more than the combat, but that doesn't mean I don't like a good fight! I have a lot of character Ideas that I have developed with fully fledged backstories and all that jazz, so I would be happy to fill in for almost any roll the party ends up needing! My playstyle is RP focused, but in combat I like to do damage, it doesn't matter if I do it with a spell or a giant hammer to me (I think the only thing I wouldn't like to do in combat would be trying to be a healer or full support character). I am free everyday (except Mondays) at anytime! Something fun that I could say is that I am very very interested in Non-Fictional worlds of all types! I love to learn about the stories and history of fantasy and sci-fi worlds so much! Things like the The Elder Scrolls or Warhammer Fantasy are my favorites for fantasy while things like Star Wars and Fallout scratch my itch for Sci-Fi. Thanks for reading and I hope to hear back!
Age: 36 (Hope that doesn't scare you away. I swear I'm young at heart.) Pronouns: He/Him Play Style: I like to RP and try to engage the players and NPCs in meaningful ways. I know some people have difficulty engaging in conversation in character so I try to talk a lot to those players in character to help break the ice. If I notice someone isn't talking or isn't saying their piece in a debate I try to make sure their voice gets heard. I'm something of a character enabler. I want my fellow players to be able to do the things they set out to. An example of this is when I was playing a LN dwarf and the rogue was trying to shoplift in the shop we were in. The dwarf would never support the rogue's thievery, but as the player I had the dwarf ask the shop keeper if he could see some of the stuff he had in the back that might be in need of repair (the character had mending) for some quick coin. I believe the notion of "It's what my character would do" is more flexible when it comes to other player's enjoyment. I tend to take RP seriously and really get into character. I've cried, shouted, and laughed in character through really emotional and meaningful RP. In combat I like to play as tactical as I can and make sure my role is getting fulfilled optimally. Possible character to play: I typically don't build a character until I know the setting and the theme of the game. I really like to make a character that really feels like they belong to the setting so I try not to come into a game with preconceived idea. If your setting has a specific organization or unique subclass/race, I typically want to play around that to get the most out of the setting. All I know about the setting thus far is that you are sing the Norse Pantheon so a Path of the Zealot Barbarian devoted to Thor might be a cool choice. Overall I am flexible in what I can play and have experience in every role whether it's as a face, a tank, a healer, an infiltrator, etc. Something Fun: I once played a barbarian who was an archaeologist devoted to preserving ancient antiquities. He found a magical ring called The Crown of the Fairy Princess. He put it on and his skin became colorful, he grew butterfly wings, and gained fey like powers. He kept it and insisted everyone refer to him as the Fairy King. Availability: I am, unfortunately, only available from 8pm-11pm on Friday nights so if you are interested in taking me on at that time slot my Discord is Doomhardt#2872
Name: Bright Age: 25 Pronouns: He/Him (Male) Play Style: I prefer a focus on interacting with NPCs and my fellow PCs to either further the plot, learn more about them, or just bond/connect as friends/allies. I'll admit im not the best at political stuff (im not the sharpest tool in the shed) but I'm always down to play through it and investigate around it. Love combat but don't need it all the time. I have a track record of being leap first - look later, but i try not to do that if it'll impair the group at large (without asking first) Possible Character to play: I have multiple ideas at the moment: (Summarized) Hobgoblin (Volo's) Artificer - Armorer, Variant Human Sorcerer - Draconic Bloodline, and a few others. Some more detail on what im seeking can be found here: https://www.reddit.com/r/lfg/comments/o5n7im/dd_5e_online_weekdays_pst_looking_for_serious/ Tell me something fun: While i haven't been the most active with it lately, I do sometimes draw character art of my d&d and original characters. It's a slow process but i find it rather fun when inspiration strikes, I even made an oc who uses a shovel for a weapon one time ...she's a fun one to play if a bit silly. Availability: Fridays are iffy, I babysit once a month on Friday afternoons. Saturday afternoons I also babysit and I have another game on Sundays. Mon-Thurs are entirely vacant right now. Looking forward to hearing from ya if I get picked <3
Age: 26 Pronouns: he/him Play Style: I like to help optimize the party in what ever they may possible need or lack. If they are a more caster heavy party then I will try and make a tank front liner for to better support them and vice versa. Possible Character to play: This is my current build for optimized support build, a divine soul sorcerer with a 1 level dip into order domain cleric. Then I can buff my allies with all kinds of different spells along with metamagic while also allowing them to do more in game. The races that I have used so far have been Tiefling trying to become a king and a triton trying to find allies to turn back the tide against the evil that lurks beneath the surface of the waves. Tell me something fun: So this is going to seem somewhat strange but this my one most memorable moment of my DnD career. So I was in a AL game of POTA playing a lizardfolk druid who was trying to restore balance to nature. I will do my best to remain spoiler free, after killing one of the first main bosses my party and I were exploring the new depths of a dungeon we found. When suddenly, we accidentally ran into another boss as they were trying to sacrifice someone on a ziggurat. We talk for a moment before we begin combat and first round the party has to makes a save. Everyone but myself passes the save and is fine from the harmful effects. I rolled extremely low and failed by 5 or more and was immediately dead as I was turned into stone. Before this moment the party was able to steamroll through every encounter but suddenly the whole game was different and much more scary. Due to the rules of AL at that time I was able to resurrect myself since my party was able to escape before another one died. I used this chance to become a warlock who sold his soul to a patron who allowed him another chance to fight alongside his allies. So after tracking down the boss that killed my character once for weeks of game time the party finally found them in their lair. The boss was in their lair smashing my statue before trying to kill me once again. It was a hard and close fight but I was able to squeeze the life out of him as a giant constrictor snake. After that my character was known King Kurik of the Lizardfolk from my party after everything with this boss was finally over.
Age: 20 Pronouns : he /him Play Style: I love roleplay with my fellow players and to interact with the world. This would hopefully lead us to discover the world and going on in the world. Possible Character to play: I would like to play a caster of some sort if possible, Cleric would be my immediate choice atm. I love the ability to both support and defend my peeps. Tell me something fun: One time while playing I eagerly checked a room while my party was mid combat as I was told to try and find something that could damage the iron robot attacking us. I proceed to open up the first container I can see which summons a wind elemental which flings me around like a toy and it seemed like I was likely to die there alone. However I had a plan with my newly aquired spell rope trick . The wind elemental would not be able to touch me up in the space which the spell creates so I climbed up the rope and relaxed in my personal floating room above the wind elemental while my party hopefully deafeated the robot. My plan worked until I realised a fatal flaw in rope trick I had failed to consider. You can close the space by pulling the rope up along with you , but I failed to actually scoop it up so the wind elemental climbed into my space where I got treated like a t-shirt in a washing machine.

Hello there! I'm Cris ( they/them ). I'm a 24 year old bisexual queer who recently finished their undergrad in linguistics. I live in Puerto Rico so my time zone is Atlantic Standard Time. Right now, it's the same as EST, I believe. I'm available anytime on Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays. My play style is very chill. My goal entering a session is to have fun and share the spotlight so everyone can have a moment to shine. D&D is a collaborative storytelling experience; we're all the protagonists. I don't enjoy taking the lead on things, but I'm comfortable playing the referee. If I'm in a homebrew campaign, I end up wanting to learn all the lore. It's so fun to explore others' worlds! Character concepts ! So I generally prefer to build a character with party composition and world lore in mind, but I'll mention a few ideas I've got on the back burner: Young gnome girl necromancer. She's sweet and bubbly, just the cutest thing you can imagine. She's the opposite of what people expect a necromancer to be. A warlock whose patron is their parent. This has a lot of possibilities because it could be a genasi pact of the genie, a tiefling pact of the fiend, a half-elf pact of the archfey, and more! I have a soft spot for clerics and would love to try out the twilight, peace, or trickery domains. I've never played a ranger or a paladin before, so it'd be cool try 'em out! Something fun about D&D and myself is that I'm currently playing an arcane trickster kobold who was adopted by the matriarch of a crime family. He's currently learning the ropes and hoping to make his mother proud. Something fun about myself outside of D&D is that I love Star Wars and my favorite piece of media about it is the animated show Rebels. My latest tattoo is actually a lothcat from said show. Some of my other tattoos are Lion from Steven Universe and Calvin & Hobbes from the comics.
Hello! My name is Nicole :) Age- 26 Pronouns- she/her Play style- My greatest weakness: I am the WORST when it comes to puzzles/riddles. Lol But other than that I love and enjoy being apart of, and also sitting back and watching unfold; dramatic RP moments, crazy battles, and seeing where it all comes together to make the story. I am 100% a story driven player, I crave being apart of the world and love seeing my own character grow along with the party. Possible character to play- I usually am more attracted to playing combat heavy characters so I would love to branch out and try a Sorcerer. I definitely am one for the heartbreak backstory, so that would be something I would love to work on with you if I get in! Tell me something fun- I once played a human Barbarian named Helena whose catch phrase going into battle the entire campaign was "you shouldn't have jumped on the boat!" because she said it one time when it actually applied and it stuck after that. I have a shirt with her character art on it with that quote underneath. I can play Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Sundays! Well I guess that's it, excited at the possibility of playing in your campaign! :)
Hello! My name is Hannah. I’m 23 and use she/they pronouns. I started playing DnD over a year ago with my fiancée (then girlfriend). I now play and DM for a few different groups PBP, in person, and by voice. I enjoy RP and Combat but exploration is my favorite. I love being able to make connections between people or situations. I am super interested in playing a fairy(UA) ranger beast master inspired by Celtic lore of fairies riding corgis. In the case UA is not allowed, I would make a chaotic neutral firbolg paladin of Silvanus. Something fun is that when playing as my Goliath druid, I was wild shaped into a brown bear and fighting against a pair of gelatinous cubes and to as we were all nearly dead, I had 2 HP left as a bear and 2 HP left out of wild shape. I decided to run towards the cubes and allow the others a better chance at escape. When made to roll Dex saving throws to not get engulfed by the cubes, I rolled two nat 20s and my party found a way to convince a slaad named Charlie into eating the cubes.
Hey, name's Alex. I'm 23 years old and I feel more like a grandpa with each passing day. They/them works. As for playstyle, I really like sinking my teeth into the RP side of things. Getting into the head of my character and feeling out what sort of decisions they'd make firsthand is one of the most gratifying experiences in dnd. That being said, my brand of RP works best when other players are just as engaged, so I'd prefer to play with a dedicated group. Not to say I dislike combat in the slightest, far from it. Gimme some magic missiles or a few divine smites and I'm happy as a clam. As for characters, I have two in mind depending on what better fits the group. The first one is Darien, something of an oafish paladin who stumbles his way through all of life's steps that don't involve hitting things. Having grown into his old role as a soldier, he found himself lost and doubting himself once his home town found peace. As of now, he's trying to find some meaning and self-value by serving as a holy warrior of Odin, leading those around him in spiritual matters in the worst way possible. He may be quick to anger when he feels his place is threatened, and his moral compass may be all over the place, but he's right at home protecting his allies on the field of battle. Thinking about making it so he has a family he left behind when he went on his spiritual quest. The second character I'm thinking about is Iris, a paranoid death cleric. Dreading all the uncertainty and dangers of the outside world, she swore herself to Tyr at a young age and holed herself away in the local temple, maintaining its upkeep and combing through its collection of literature. Turns out ya learn a lot when you read a lot, so Iris set about putting her makeshift education to good use. She advised farmers on ideal crop rotation, taught the local blacksmith about an advanced technique to heat metal, and even convinced the town mayor to trade with a neighboring village for goods they had trouble producing themselves. So in spite of her hermetic tendencies, she came to be seen as something of a leadership figure. But all of that would come to a close when word of an invading force coming to raze the town met her ears, and her anxieties got the better of her. She fled in the dead of night, never seeing her people again. Now without a place of safety, she's trying to make her way in the world, one slow and steady step at a time. As for fun facts, did you know the Nintendo Wii came out 15 years ago? I wish I didn't.

Hi Unicor, I am Gerald and my age is 24(He/Him). I played dnd for over 2 years, currently I am working a job with a flexible schedule so I will be down for most afternoon/evenings and weekends. I draw and animate on my free time so I could do things for the group(warning: I am a starter and not very good) My style of play: I usually prefer role play over the other other aspects of the game, but I do love combat and exploration with a dash of expert storytelling. I act out as my character and will interact with other PCs or NPCs as my character would. Possible character (I have many other ideas so i m flexible to play something else too) : 1. Human Death monk called Huge the Hand: Reared up by monks who study and worship death, left the monastery at a young age, worked as hired assassin until one day a priestess cursed him before she died by his hand, this unique curse reflects the conscious of whoever talks to Hugh back to them, from that point on no one would hire Hugh and he has to find some ways to undo the curse or find another path. 2. Aaracokra Grave cleric Marble: Fled from the plane of air at a young age, Marble settled in the material plane, and gets by by stealing, met a god and basically made a pact to serve as a warden to a graveyard, in exchange for food and shelter, he agreed to the pact and years passed. Feeling a wanderlust, he left the graveyard with the blessing of his god, and a bucket list. Fun fact: Vegetable is a just a word we came up for a whole array of different plants, it doesn't mean anything in science, kinda like sex.
Age: 31 Pronouns: He/him, she/her, they/them Play Style: I like a good mix of RP and combat. I feel like I share a similar sentiment with the rest of the entries, so I'll also add that I enjoy uncovering NPC secrets as a personal pleasure. Possible Character to play: > I don't really settle on any one character idea since it's better to wait for a session 0 to iron these kinds of things out. With that said though: >>I've been interested in playing a drunken master who used to be an excellent performer in a circus that disbanded with many of their old friends estranged and with strained relationships to one another. >>A changeling who believes they are a single identity and are some kind of weird sorcerer that just happens to shapeshift. They get very frustrated and anxious when people confront them about this and go into intense denial because they fear they will 'lose themselves' to a serious identity crisis. >>A hobgoblin sellsword who defected from their war host when they became disillusioned with their oppressive ideals. He carries a sword that still has the bloodstains of his first kill upon it; no matter how much he scrubs it, they remain. He's taken a liking to calling it "First Blood" Tell me something fun: I work as a math teacher and am trying to incorporate a new teaching tool where I use D&D to teach my math lessons.
Age: 26. Pronouns: He/His/Him. Play Style: I'm an RP first and foremost type of player. I haven't played 5e in a few years but last DMed a campaign for about a year in 2018, so I'm not a complete noob in combat. I'd just need to re-read the books as a refresher and have some notes on hand for running characters. I don't mind adapting to more min/max build tables or more suboptimal and flavor-filled tables. Possible Character to play: Long story short is that rogue is my favorite class by a mile and I'd like to play a human rogue. I don't care if Variant is allowed or not, I just prefer playing human characters in general. In a more min/max table I'd play a Swashbuckler, and in a more loose table I'd really like to play a Phantom which has an extremely cool flavor to it but seems very underwhelming until level 9. I come from a Planescape background so alignment is something I'm very conscious of and put into my characters, though I don't expect others to do the same as it's been de-emphasized in 5e. Borrowing from Planescape, the type of characters I like to play the most actively stand for something. They have some sort of core belief that drives them and motivates them, and is something that they are unwilling to give up or toss aside. It adds predictability on everyone's end when a character has a defining belief that drives their actions, and makes it easy to write hooks that would make them want to participate or dilemmas that attack those core beliefs specifically. The core belief I most like to play around with is the belief is freedom. What this means in practice is that when you throw any number of things in a tiered list, things like security or resource allocation or social structure or money or whatever -- the thing that is at the top is always freedom -- more specifically freedom of choice and freedom of will. People should be able to make their own choices in life, and any structure that prevents them from doing so is inherently wrong. This is not by any means a good aligned philosophy, because it places the slaver on the same tier as the friend desperately trying to get their drunk friend to go home at 2am. By placing freedom of choice at the top of that tier list, that also means that the choices made of someone's own free will are respected completely. Freedom of choice does not mean freedom from consequences, however, and that means that those who actively make a choice to fight when given a chance not to deserve what they get. If an enemy is intelligent, it's always worth a shot to confirm their circumstances and give them a way out and force them to actively choose the route that leads to bloodshed before resorting to that. Once that happens, though, 0 guilt because it's not your fault! They made the choice, not you! Tell me something fun: I currently admin a RWBY forum RP (those still exist in 2021, amazingly). Other Notes: I work emergency management, so if there's a big natural disaster in the area I work there may be scheduling issues for a time. This is generally pretty uncommon and is only once every few years, though.
Afternoon, morning, and night! (Whatever time this reaches you) :) My availability would be around 7:30EST until probably session is over from Monday - Wednesday and Thursday Mornings Age: 20 (College student as well~) Pronouns: He/Him Play Style: I like a mix of RP and combat, I'm trying to get better at roleplaying a character though. Just started DnD around 4 months ago and enjoying character creating and immersing myself. I just prefer what the DM and group finds fun cause if everyone enjoys themselves I will too Possible Character to play: I wanna try a kalashtar monk, or a cleric/bard (being a bard sounds fun but it'll be my first time!) Doing different builds seems fun as I imagine what the characters would do (makes me jealous I cant do it). I also wouldn't mind playing a spellcaster since I love using magic. I've always been a fan of magic since a young age with wizards and sorcs. Something Fun!: I love volleyball and anime! They're some of my sources for creativity with DnD. I'm a fairly big reader when it comes to manga and webtoons and I wouldn't mind giving out recommendations. :D
