Ch. 71: Cursed Sheila Challenges King Coal Then the Party Invades a Yuan-Ti HalfBlood Dwelling!

Dungeon Master (GM): Hi Guys!   Loreesa: Hey   Devin M.: Hello.   Dungeon Master (GM): buddy did say he was coming in and I guess Kurtis will be late ok, looks like buddy will be a bit late as well, he just messaged he is running behind   Garis Newdom: almost ran behind myself   Loreesa: I'm lurking listening to a show about holy unholy warriors   Garis Newdom: same here... was listening in the truck   Dungeon Master (GM): ok, let's get started. There is a scroll case sitting on the floor below the painting in the secret study. The paintings hanging in horan's bedroom look pricey and as to what Sheila finds on Horan:   Loreesa: Sheila will search Horan and grab the scroll case   Garis Newdom: when last we left off... I was a trap magnet in a house of slatter slaughter any unclaimed weapons in the area?   Dungeon Master (GM): ok, Horan is wearing bracers and has a fine looking dagger. The hilt having a snake engraving. There is a vial tied to his waist and a scroll case upon him. on a small chain necklace around his neck is a silver whistle and a miniature elaborately carved chest.   Just the bugbear's fauchard and throwing axe and horan's dagger   Loreesa: Take the chest for how to summon the big one   Dungeon Master (GM): ok   Garis Newdom: grabbing the throwing axe   Dungeon Master (GM): ok   Loreesa: The dagger is nice and the vial necklace   Dungeon Master (GM): how about the scroll case in the study?   Loreesa: grab that one also   Dungeon Master (GM): do you want the paintings in horan's bedroom they do indeed look pricey   Loreesa: naw leave them   Garis Newdom: encumbrance is a thing... unless they can be taken without the frames and rolled up   Dungeon Master (GM): ha! anyways you note a note on one of his nightstands....It mentions something about a door or portal having opened up on the base of the Needle Obelisk and gathering guards to go in and have a look. well they are 'scroll' paintings artwork painted on strips of bamboo that can be rolled up   Garis Newdom: I'll roll em up and stash them   Loreesa: hm lets roll them up and see about finding a way to sell them   Dungeon Master (GM): ok, those are 4,000 apiece in value   Garis Newdom: gotta live to sell them   Dungeon Master (GM): This appears to be a single story house, no stairs going up or down. anything more while in Horan's compound?   Garis Newdom: grab food... going to have to go on the lam   Loreesa: can I get the big chest from the mini one?   Dungeon Master (GM): do you even know how to??   Loreesa: Dont think I'm high enough level but taking it anyway   Dungeon Master (GM): ok   Garis Newdom: its considered treasure the whistle attached with it?   Loreesa: Can I identify the vial?   Garis Newdom: incoming   Loreesa: taking the whistle also   Dungeon Master (GM): well not what it does, but the liquid is a shade of red and glimmers when shaken. ok, A chain necklace holds the whistle and mini-chest   Loreesa: whistle magic?   Dungeon Master (GM): ok, are you all ready to head back to the mongrelmen compound? you could try blowing on it   Loreesa: yes   Devin M.: Indeed.   Garis Newdom: haven't been there... but safety in numbers   Loreesa: its been our safe haven   Garis Newdom: safe havens are good   Dungeon Master (GM): ok, any sort of interaction here? if not I will bring up the city map and the note i posted in the threads earlier that mentions what is left that you can do. the new King of the Mongrelmen is Coal whom I will ping for you   Garis Newdom: need to meet all my new partners in crime   Dungeon Master (GM): you could say Coal and Aratheas is a couple now   Loreesa: Sheila will challenge Coal on her way to rule the city   Coal Blackstone The Human Ranger Says, "Say what?! Loreesa: Here is what is left to explore in the Forbidden City, here are the locations either not visited yet or passed over: North: Deathwalker's Compound: You found another way down into the lower parts of Thracia. You could deal with the evilly tainted leaders and their henchmen. North West Quadrant: Looks like everything was explored, however you could go to T7: Temple with Phase Spiders. In Area T6 you could deal with the Bugbear Grunts there. You have defeated their leader and shaman. T1 has a small army of bugbears and some gnolls. This is the main entrance to the lower parts of the city. West: You could pay a visit to the Mongrelmen at Area D. See if they are friendly or not. South West Quadrant: Area N8 is the Tamoachan Temple, which will likely open with a chase. South: Area E is visible as a huge tree whose height is most of the way up the cliff. South East: Areas M2 and M3 are Yuan-Ti Halfblood dwellings with many YT's. East: Area B is a lianas vines covered cliff area yet unexplored. Area F is the primitive Bullywug frogmen tribe area where you have not set foot yet. On the other side of the swampy area is an unexplored Cave Entrance, (I need to finish populating it yet). North East: Area S2 is the "Tomb of the Mummy Bride" module, which will be played after the "Caverns of Thracia". I did pledge to get the updated DCC version on Kickstarter. Bullywug Frogmen mound, has not been explored. You need to figure out how to deal with the wooden log palisade, which leans outward at an angle with sharp pointed tips on the end of each log post. Miscellaneous: I will likely stage a raid on the Mongrelmen compound, especially now that Horan has been defeated. This would basically be an encounter from the original module, changed up a bit, mainly in location. After going through "Hidden Shrine of Tamoa(n)chan". I may get the "Alien" game and we would play that as I work to make Dungeonographer maps for "Caverns of Thracia" and set it all up. As mentioned in the previous post I made, I might still be adding encounters to Tamoa(n)chan or just leave it as it is now &nbsp; Loreesa: copy pasted from my email the last spots in the city &nbsp; Dungeon Master (GM): got to wonder why roll20 doesn't have the formatting in the note when it's sent to you, they need to fix that! &nbsp; Garis Newdom: what's been happening in the area since the death of Horan? Lord Cromther ... same here &nbsp; Dungeon Master (GM): well the obvious thing is that there is a power vacuum for sure now, so likely the bullywugs, yuan-ti, bugbears and deathwalkers will be fighting for control. &nbsp; Lord Cromther: let them kill each other &nbsp; Garis Newdom: defend what we got and watch the others weaken themselves &nbsp; Dungeon Master (GM): so basically you can go tackle what remains yourselves or try to get co-op from one of them to fight the others or whatever else the grippli (outside the city now), mongrelmen and tasloi are your current allies &nbsp; Loreesa: Take our allies and beat down the others &nbsp; Lord Cromther: might as well &nbsp; Dungeon Master (GM): ok, so how do you go about doing that? &nbsp; Garis Newdom: help out where ever they have weak defenses &nbsp; Lord Cromther: did we get any rest from the encounter.
