[LFP] Looking For One Replacement Player for Long-Running Cyberpunk Red Variant

This game is probably not for everyone.  To start off with, the times are not ideal for most US-based players.  The game plays every Thursday at the following times: 18.00 BST 13.00 EDT 10.00 PDT Therefore, it will probably only suit players from Europe or anyone in the US who doesn't work a standard Mon-Fri, 9-5 job. The game has been running since the start of the year and sessions usually last three hours.  The game is likely to last for several years (many of the players have been playing in Sunday games with the GM for almost a decade already).  So we're looking for someone who is able to make a long-term commitment. The idea for the campaign came from many (but not all) of the group having been playing various RPGs since the Eighties.  In 2019, I realized that, according to Cyberpunk 2020, we were all about to start living in the future!  As a result, the variant of the game that we are playing is that we are not playing in the standard Cyberpunk Red timeline at all - we're living in a slightly more dystopian version of the present day .  The main difference is that the assault on the Capitol Building on 6 January went much further than what really happened, the police was defunded, federal employees haven't been getting paid, etc.  As a result, the US has become more like the Wild West - an ideal environment for 'murder hobos' to flourish. So there is no cyberware in this game.  If it doesn't exist in 2021, it doesn't exist in the game (although I fudge the healing rules a little to keep characters from getting killed).  So anyone looking for the traditional Cyberpunk 2020/2045/2077 Night City experience is not going to like this game. We play very much for laughs.  If you have a dark sense of humour and a lack of political correctness, then you will probably like it.  If easily offended, however, then you will probably find plenty of reasons to get offended. The game is currently based in Eau Claire, WI (long story as to why) and over the past six months, the party has dealt with: * Squabbling Hmong gangbangers pretending to be Muslim terrorists to attack a mall * Getting revenge on the Outlaws Motorcycle Club for slashing the tires on the Nomad's RAM 3500 * Stopping Verizon from demolishing their apartment building to install a 5G mast * Rescuing Green Bay Packers quarterback, Aaron Rodgers, from a kidnapping by the Green Bay SWAT team. * Infiltrating the Proud Boys and stopping them from assaulting the Wisconsin State Building and rescuing Kyle Rittenhouse * Retrieving a truck load of Wisconsin Mozzarella from larcenous Canadians working for Pizza Pizza * Stopping an organization helping rich Americans to flee over the border to Canada * Assassinating Mike Lindell, the My Pillow Guy * Interrupting a school shooting (which turned out to be a false flag operation) * Stopping a group from adding Trump's head to Mount Rushmore * A high noon showdown in Deadwood historic village * Rescuing Warren Buffett from being kidnapped by Canadians if the above sounds amusing to you, then you will probably have fun.  If not, then this is probably not the game for you. I am looking for just one player to replace one of the players who dropped out a few weeks ago.  There are four other players who have been in the game since the start.  Your character will start with the same amount of XP as all of the others have. If I have not put you off yet, then I would love to hear from you.  To move forward, either PM me here, or you can email me at nick[at]pendrell[dot]me Please let me know why you think that you would enjoy the game and why the other players will enjoy playing with you. Feel free to ask any questions that you may have - either by direct message to me or below.

Hi, the part that makes me want to send is the anti-Canadian defense.  Not about being right wing; i'm not; but more like, it funny to do that and kind of random.  But question; does the group actually get into tactical fights or is it mostly social shenanigans?  The time is good; GMT +8 here.  I can think of things to do that are kind of random, like stopping a fight with a dance and such; but stuff like that usually comes up as a solution to things getting stuck.  Not a big really talker; more a doer.  Would probably play a solo or tech unless some other role is more needed
Hi, thanks for the message.  It's good to hear from you. Unfortunately, I just gave the place away to another player last night and so the game is currently full.  However, if things do not work out with him or any other player drops out, then I will definitely let you know if you are still interested. Regarding Canadians - one of the current players is Canadian and so we like to tease him from time to time to make a change from the Americans who get teased pretty much all of the rest of the time! Although the games as part of a long-running campaign, most 'episodes' run for just one or two three-hour sessions.  They usually take the form of figuring out who the bad guys are and where they are, reconning wherever the bad guys are and then it all ends up in a big fight that usually takes a couple of hours.  Very few episodes end without a fight. The current party consists of a Lawman, Nomad, Netrunner, Tech, and then the new player is playing a Fixer.  So without a Rockerboy or a Media, the end fights usually don't change from being a fight. Thanks again for the message and I will get back to you if a position becomes available again. Nick
