Drakke Game Summary for Saturday (06/26/2021): Opening Scene: Day 39: July 30th, 5:30 am The adventurers and the town of Phandalin has been
busy. Hustling to get necessities placed on carts, wagons or in backpacks to go
to Axeholm fortress to hide from the Green Dragon (Venomfang) and White Dragon
(Cryovain). As the wagon train is prepared, the town gets word from traveling
merchants from Neverwinter City, that have arrived into town that they have
seen the Green Dragon, flying overhead , when on the Triboar trail. When the wagon train nears to within one mile of
Axeholm the White Dragon is seen flying overhead, far out of the reach of
missile weapons and spells. They are heading to the very mountain range, known
as the Sword mountains, of which the white dragon has claimed as his domain
after chasing the Many Arrows Orc tribe from their home. A roll was made on D6 die to determine the white
dragon’s actions. The White Dragon, decides to land about 240 feet away from
the front of the caravan. Cryovain says, “ Begone, from here if you intend to head for the Sword Mountains
as it is my home now!" Marcuria says, “Ah, shit....shit, shit shit shit. We
can't risk the caravans like this”. Butterfinger says, “OYE, GET BACK!, don't
you dare tell me what to do you weird white ugly lizard”. Marcuria elbows
Butterfinger hard to shut him up! Avery, not realizing, that even though, the mountain area is
split from the main group, that it’s still part of the Sword mountain range,
says, “We are not going to those mountains. You can be certain of that. A place
west of those mountains”. Butterfinger says, "Fly away Dragon, and maybe we will
spare ya life today”. Marcuria says, "Shut. UP. Are you trying to get
everyone in this caravan killed”? Butterfinger simply starts playing the bagpipes. Avery casts the Silence 20ft radius spell so that the dragon
doesn’t hear the terrible bagpipe playing. Cryovain the white dragon says, “It appears to me you are headed
for the old dwarven fortress (Axeholm).” Cryovain, offers to make a deal with the Phandalin townsfolks.
He offers to leave the town alone so long as it’s citizens give a weekly
offering of livestock. He also mentions of spying the green dragon Venomfang in
the area and that he would help the town rid of him, so long as he has the
livestock offering. A D6 die roll is made to determine what action the green dragon
Venomfang takes as he makes his way from the Gnomengarde area, the home of
gnome inventors. He had seen Cryovain and was heading for him when Cyrovain
decided to drop in on the Phandalin caravan. Venomfang dips down among a spot
of trees in the grasslands area and watches from afar. Cyrovain, takes flight after the town agrees to help kill the
green dragon and the caravan moves forward to finish the remaining mile to
Axeholm, as Cryovain circles from a mile above them on the lookout for
Venomfang. When the caravan is about 100 yards away from the main gate into
Axeholm, (now unlocked for entry thanks to the adventurers), Venomfangs decides
to attack Cryovain, flying up from his hiding spot to engage him. Dia, casts the Longstrider spell upon Marcuria so that she gains
10 ft of speed for 1 hour. The Phandalin townsfolks, scatter, some taking cover
among nearby trees, some dashing for the front gate! (They can’t get in as the main gate is closed… The adventurers
need to climb up and go inside to turn the two cranks to open both doors. The
logs were, of course, previously taken down so that they could be opened). Avery, casts the Enhance Ability spell upon Marcuria to place
Bear Endurance on her, which gives Marcuria advangtage on constitution checks
and 2d6=8 temporary hit points more for 1 hour. Initiative rolls are made and Combat Round #01 Beings: With the dragons too high up (1 mile), to engage the
adventurers, just get into a better position from which to fight from as they
await the outcome of the two dragons clashing. Cryovain, unleashes his Cold Breath upon Venomfang,
who rolls a constitution saving throw rolling 7 needing ≥15 and fails, taking
the full damage of 49 cold damage! Venomfang, then hits Cryovain with his Poison Breath
and Cyrovain rolls a constitution saving throw, rolling 18 needing ≥ 15 and
partially dodges the blast for only 10 damage! [I goofed a bit here while thinking about the 3
attacks the dragons get when not using the breath weapon and each got 1
additional attack in. So lets just say that they continued toward their target
and did one.] 2 nd Attacks for Round #01: Cryovain, bites Venomfang for 10 damage! Venomfang, bites Cryovain for 33 damage! (Note: Even though Cryovain gets extra cold damage on
the bite attack, they don’t have it for Venomfang to do his extra poison damage
on a bite!] Combat Round #02: Juan, casts Divine Favor upon himself to increase his weapon
attack by an extra 1d4 radiant damage! Cryovain, missed trying to claw Venomfang! Venomfang, missed trying to claw Cryovain! 2 nd Attacks for Round #02: Cryovain, bites Venomfang for 36 damage! Venomfang, bites Cyrovain for 19 damage! 3 rd Attacks for Round #03: Cryovain, claws Venomfang for 11 damage, which sends
the green dragon falling to the ground defeating him! Combat Round #03: Cryovain, dives down upon Venomfang and claws him for
15 more damage, to ensure himself the green dragon is dead! Combat Round #04: [You do your first
attacks during the initial part of the round then go back through the turn
order in order of attack again to do your 2 nd attack or bonus
action. This repeats until all players’ attacks and bonus moves are done, then
the current round is over and we move to the next round. To visualize this, picture the 1 st
attack/action from everyone occurring in the first 2 seconds of the round, the
2 nd attacks/bonus actions occur during seconds 3 & 4, and the
third attacks/bonus actions occur during seconds 5 & 6. So as an example: Marcuria, uses her
rage/form of the beast ability to grow claws during the first 2 seconds of the
round. During the 2 nd attacks sequence, (seconds 3-4), she makes her
1 st claw attack. Then During the 3 rd Attack sequence,
(seconds 5-6), of the round, she makes her 2 nd claw attack. When you hold an action/move, it is
delayed until the 2 nd attack sequence of the round, because during
the first 2 seconds you are hesitating momentarily.] Dia, prepares to cast the Tasha’s Hideous Laughter
spell! Marcuria, engages her Rage ability and transforms with
Form of the Beast to grow claws! Butterfinger, casts the thunderwave spell sending a 160
decibel thunderous wave of force at Cryovain, who fails his constitution saving
throw, rolling 9 needing ≥ 15 and takes the full 12 damage! Avery, casts Vicious Mockery upon Cryovain, who rolls
11 needing ≥ 15 on the wisdom saving throw so he takes 6 psychic damage and has
disadvantage on his next attack roll!
Thyus, swings the magic +1 Dragonbane sword, but
missed Cyrovain!
