Witness the greatest tragedy in centuries! Long has the House of Illuviar united the world in an age of phenomenal prosperity. But now, the will of Heaven has shifted. The dynasty, once favoured by the Emperor for generations, now faces uncertainty for the fate of its future. Having suffered poverty, malicious magical creatures left unchecked, hunger, and sickness, the common people began a bloody revolution. Millions around the world rally under the banner of a wizard and his two brothers who declares that now is the time to establish a new Constitutional Monarchy. Meanwhile, the Duke of Ansillia, Darius Zigore, takes advantage of the chaos. The Duke began a conquest to other administrative districts and declares himself the rightful ruler of the world. The gods also seek to manifest their ambitions on the world. Wanting to impress the Emperor, each god and goddess in Heaven supports their chosen candidate that will bring stability to the world. Indeed, the individual that brings an end to the turmoil of the land will reflect well on the capabilities of the god or goddess supporting them. And so, the champions of the era shall reveal themselves and change the fate of the United Kingdoms forever. Regardless of how opulent or how humble, virtuous or unscrupulous their beginnings. I'm looking for additional players who are interested in playing a homebrew campaign setting. This campaign setting takes place in a utopian world that is descending fast into ruin. The entire world was once united under a banner of a single kingdom. Magical items were readily available even in remote villages and, for a long time, food and clean water was abundant. But now, the world been suffering under the ambition and greed of corrupt nobles in the court of the High King. Many nobles also see an opportunity to gain even more power and even try to claim the throne of the world for themselves. In terms of play mechanics, here are some things that stand out for the typical adventurers in D&D campaigns: -It's not enough to simply delve dungeons for riches, your rise to power also includes having real political power. This includes managing duchies and raising troops to fend off against rivals. -No ruler rules alone. To manage the affairs of state, you need people of merit within your court. During your adventures, you will have the potential to recruit people of legendary skill. Bear in mind, the characters you have in your court may be disloyal or follow you to the hells and back depending on how they are treated. -Your actions will decide the fate of how the political structure of the world will be shaped. Perhaps it would be split up into several kingdoms, perhaps a new form of government will form, or it will be united under one person. Right now we play on Roll20 on 7pm (AEST) Monday ideally on a regular weekly basis. But once COVID-19 cases are down, we might meet together in CBD, Sydney.
