Ch. 74: The Adventurers Make Their Way to Wyvern Tor, Encounter an Orc Raiding Party and Find Another Cave of the With a Cyclops!

As was discussed earlier, we are gonna harvest as much stuff as we can from the dragons Hopefully it'll fetch a pretty penny 2. I want to have Marcy go report in to the mayor again.   Dungeon Master (GM): Yes, some orcs are raiding again and there was the thing of townfolks having unusual and intense nightmares.   Juan : good idea sirus   Dungeon Master (GM): The adventures can also go to that dragon's barrow on the way to Neverwinter. In Thundertree you can now visit the old tower that Venomfang occupided   Sirus: We will. The indentation by the way had a tiny symbol of a handaxe clutched in a guantlet needed at least a 20 on that lock   Roqar: Cool   Marcuria the Human Barbarian Says: "Nice one, Roqar. What's in there, then?..."   Dungeon Master (GM): ok, inside the chest you see: a helm and a pair of gauntlets, simlar to the ones Roqar is wearing!

Then you swallow the live carp and chase it down with the mixed wine!   Marcuria the Human Barbarian Says: "Don't feel any stronger with these things on. Like Marcuria wanting to talk to Harbin Wester   Roqar: Maybe try to find out more about these nightmares?   Dungeon Master (GM): yes, I forgot to mention Wyvern Tor where the orcs were coming from....you would doubt it's the Orcs you made a deal with.   Sirus: Yep, ok right. Marcy heads off to go find Harbin, with a big ol grin on her face.   Dungeon Master (GM): You are already in the sword mountain range and nearer to Wyvern tor than the dragon barrow / Neverwinter / Thundertree area so perhaps looking for the old orc home and probing around Wyvern Tor should be done first.   ROLO: maybe we should check the dragons lairs, treasure for sure   Roqar: Their lairs are further away from here   Harbin Wester the TownMaster Says: "Yes Marcuria what is it?"   Marcuria the Human Barbarian Says: "Got a surprise for you. You can forget about that whole thing with the livestock after all..."   ROLO: well before someone else does   Marcuria the Human Barbarian Takes out the dragon horns they harvested and dropped them at Harbin's feet. Says: "Your dragon problem is over. They're dead. Both of them."   Harbin Wester the TownMaster Says: "W"   Sirus: tfw you go "w" :P   Harbin Wester the TownMaster Says: "Well yes, they are both dead, thanks to them fighting each other and you finishing off the white one, We are safe again."   Roqar: Smack him around until he gives us a reward   Harbin Wester the TownMaster Says: "I would suggest you and your friends go snooping around Wyvern Tor, see if orcs are still around there." Says: "I will pay you all for it."   Marcuria the Human Barbarian Says: "Yep. You can have those, hang them on the wall or something.....oh yeah. Don't worry, we aren't done yet. Just thought you could afford some good news for a change. Sure, if the coin's good, we'll look into it."   Harbin Wester the TownMaster Says: "Well, I guess you telling me this, reaffirms that what I saw with my own eyes was not my imagination running wild."   Marcuria the Human Barbarian Says: "Yeah. You got yourselves some dragon-slayers here. We'll be around for a little while, if there's anything else too."
Harbin Wester the TownMaster Says: "We need to butcher up the dragon corpses and send the various parts to Neverwinter city. The mages and alchemists there will certainly pay for them."   Marcuria the Human Barbarian Says: "If we could get a cut of that, would be no problem to send it along for you." We'll definitely have it on the to-do list. Take care, sir."   Harbin Wester the TownMaster Says: "take care."   Roqar: Roqar will try to find out more about the nightmares along with anyone else   Dia Xiloscient: We might want to see if anyone has the nightmares tonight, to make sure it's not location related.   Dungeon Master (GM): ok, the various townfolks that had them mention, that the dreams would start off pleasant and initially involve a very handsome man or beautiful woman, then turn into a nightmare unlike any they had before. Some never had one before.   Roqar the Elf Rogue Says: "Hm, maybe a hag, or a demon?"   Dungeon Master (GM): ok, and the next morning you would see that no one had the nightmares.   Avery the Half-Elf Bard Says: "Yes. This does sound like the work of a Hag of some sort....but we can't be certain."   Roqar the Elf Rogue Says: "My guess is, since no one had a nightmare last night, its one of the loose ends I, or, we have from cleaning up the area previously"   Dungeon Master (GM): ok, so now is the time to decide for sure where you all head off to next. Also do you want the townfolks to stay here or head back to Phandalin? do you want to get back with them as guard escorts?   Roqar: I vote the Townies stay in Axeholm   Dia Xiloscient: Axeholm makes sense, since they're not having nightmares there.   Dungeon Master (GM): alright so as they stay in Axeholm, the adventurers head off to?   ROLO: did we get a long rest?   Roqar the Elf Rogue Says: "The loose ends are the leaders that got away before we could kill them"   Dungeon Master (GM): yes definitely That's from Phandelver mine/wave echo cave, Roqar! so yea, there is that as well!   ROLO: will i be able to get all the spell componets there?   Roqar: Thats Roqar's thinking, the nightmares are tied to a loose end   Dungeon Master (GM): in Neverwinter city? yes   ROLO: k   Roqar: Do we check out the Orcs since we are in the area?   Dungeon Master (GM): guys, Roqar wants to know if you all are heading into Wyvern Tor here???   Dia Xiloscient: Sounds good to me   ROLO: k   Juan : sounds good to me   Dungeon Master (GM): ok, then   ROLO: should we look for the white dragons lair too   Roqar: Avoiding Umbrage Hill like the plague :P   Dungeon Master (GM): ok we are looking at a 75 mile trip   ROLO: whats there ubrige hill   Dungeon Master (GM): I'm going to reveal a part of the map where there is a town the party would know of but there is no encounter for it. at least now with this module. When we're done with Wyvern Tor, the silvered weapons should be ready right?   Dungeon Master (GM): and you are probing around in the Wyvern Tor area....You do look into the cave you first found and see it lays still empty ok, you should see a black screen now   Roqar: So they have a new home   Sirus: yes   Juan : its black for me   ROLO: same   Dungeon Master (GM): While climbing a rocky ridge on the lower slope of the hill, you pick up the faint smell of smoke. A hundred feet from you is a cave at the bottom of a ravine. Leaning against boulders, just outside the entrance of a cave, are two orc guards.   ROLO: did the orc have anything of value?   Dungeon Master (GM): nothing of value upon them   ROLO: ty   Roqar: Do we try to be sneaky sneaky or just kill them?   Juan : smoke um if we got um lol   Sirus: GM, how brightly lit is the cave?   Juan : probably not very   Dungeon Master (GM): well you can see partially inside this opening as it's huge enough for a couple wagons to fit in. though you are not yet in a position that lets you see straight inside and farther back....you can make out a couple campfires, cooking food   Sirus: hmmst   Avery: So it's dim light?   Sirus: Asking so I can judge how plausible trying to sneak up on them is.   Dungeon Master (GM): not dim, just that your angle doesn't let you see more inside currently is all   Sirus: Ok so it's well lit.   Dungeon Master (GM): the rest of the entrance would be lit like a porch with a roof over it.   Sirus: Eh.
