After hastily discussing that fact that the Brigade has no
idea what the heck the Time Masters are talking about it is decided to take
control of the Embarkation room so the Brigade can go back to 1938 and complete
the mission. The catch is the time portal has a kill switch in the Silver
Avengers office. They have to get to it before they can activate the portal
again.
Forcing their way to the control room was easy enough. All
that was left was the spiral staircase that led to the Silver Avenger’s
briefing room. When they got there the Silver Avenger used the kill code for
Constable’s armor leaving him helpless dead weight in the control room.
Silver Avenger Bendorf asked the group to sit and talk with
him. He claimed the situation had not (yet) gone beyond the point of no return.
Paladin refused and wanted the time gateway opened. Bendorf sadly shook his head.
He ordered his three agents to kill the Brigade.
Paladin, Kismet, Lady Paper, and Nocturna were left to face
Silver Avenger Bendorf and three ProGov supers (Agent, Battlestar, and Patriot)
without their heaviest hitters. The battle was fierce but the Brigade managed
to pull out a victory.
Rip Hunter rushed in and powered up the time gate. He said
they had to hurry because more powerful reinforcements would be coming any
second now. He gave them a few key events that happened after WWII that led to
the rise of ProGov but it all started with Operation High Jump finding the
alien spaceships in Antarctica. They had to go
back and make sure that the ships were destroyed.
The gate is reopened and they go find the ice tunnels the
Nazis had begun constructing. They continued them until they found three flying
saucers. One of the craft was only partially intact but the other two were in
very good shape. The Brigade salvaged ordinance from the sunk Nazi warship and
loaded the flying saucers full of it. The resulting detonation completely
obliterated the alien ships.
The Brigade waited for the portal to open, which it did,
right on schedule.

The time line was restored to the history they were familiar
with.
The Time Masters take the Brooklyn Brigade out for dinner
and drinks to celebrate the non-events that took place. Kismet used her mental
illusion power to show Jeff Smith and Antonia Saleese the ProGov Embarkation
Room. Maybe the Time Masters can learn something from seeing the ProGov
equipment.

The Time Masters have cleared out their warehouse and leave
no forwarding address.
Kismet and Lady Paper take a personal day to recoup from the
ordeal they have been through.
Paladin checked with Lt. House about the cure for the Coney
Island Primitive virus that affected the people around Little Odessa. The cure
that Doctor McQuark developed is only good if the victim had been exposed in
the last 24 hours. They were able to save all the secondary victim but the
original 27 were beyond their help. Trying to do contact tracing of the
original 27 was unsuccessful. The patient zero group varied across gender and
age groups, ethnicity, etc. (See 9/13/2018
for the original story)
The areas they had in common was that they were among the
lower income levels and held jobs where they would not be missed for a while.
Paladin is going to McQuark to see if he can put together a
virus detector.
